Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. David Veazey officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Jordan was a cement finisher and had lived most of his life in Amarillo. He graduated from Palo Duro High School. Survivors include a daughter, Melisa Wilson of Amarillo; a son, Robert Eugene Jordan Jr. of Iowa Park; two granddaughters, Macie Dawn Wilson and Grace Lynn Christine Wilson; a special friend, Cheryl Hendrick of Amarillo; his mother, Pebble Grace Jordan of Amarillo; two sisters, Deborah Grace Cagle of Pampa and Joyce Conner of Amarillo; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The body will be available for viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, March 20, 2004 Donald Joseph Nistler Donald Joseph Nistler, 78, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 18, 2004. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Nistler was born to Steven Nistler and Susan Nistler in Eden Valley, Minn., on April 24, 1925. He was surrounded by a large loving family his entire life as he had nine brothers and four sisters. He also enjoyed the love of both his wife, Mary Ellen, and their six children. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the 24th Division, 3rd Battalion, 19th Infantry in World War II, prior to entering the construction industry until his retirement from Iowa Beef Packers in 1991. During his early travels building grain elevators across the midwest, he met his soul mate, Mary Ellen Sill of Emporia, Kan. They were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sept. 24, 1949. They shared 54 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling to see their children, grandchildren and friends. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 19 in Emporia, Kan. A company transfer brought him to Amarillo in 1973. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where he and his wife celebrated their faith and the companionship of numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and seven brothers. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Susan Johnson and husband, Robert, of Clay Center, Kan., Shirley Knox and husband, William, of Austin and Sherry Nistler of Amarillo; three sons, Donald Nistler and wife, Carol, of Olathe, Kan., John Nistler and companion, Patty Boner, of Martindale and Ron Nistler and wife, Suzette, of Amarillo; two sisters, Lucille Asfeld of Watkins, Minn., and Sally Prows of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Dave Nistler and wife, Barbara, of Cheyenne, Okla., and Bob Nistler and wife, Mia, of Anchorage, Alaska; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Christian served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Survivors include two sons, Monty Christian of Lubbock and Shane Christian of Riverton, Wyo.; two daughters, Linda Ferrell of Amarillo and Janet Scott of Grapevine; a sister, Kay Woods of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Mrs. Brock was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Hartley County. She retired in 1991 as postmaster of the post office in Sanford. Survivors include her husband, Bob; three sons, Larry Brock of Panhandle, Tom Ed Brock of Fort Collins, Colo., and Keith Brock of Rowlett; a daughter, Sandra Gail Carson of Houston; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with Bill Baker, minister of First Christian Church, and the Rev. Charles Addington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery near Vinson, Okla., by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughs was born Aug. 24, 1929, in the O.M. Community of Harmon County, Okla., to Jeff Landreth and Viola Hughes Landreth. She graduated from Westview High School. She was a bookkeeper, member of First United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Chaparral Sams RV Chapter and Collingsworth County Museum. She married Don Jones on June 18, 1948, in Wellington. He died in 1993. She married Buster Hughs on June 10, 1995, in Wellington. To her family she was know as Granny and Bunica. Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Jones of Amarillo; a daughter, LaDonna Jones of Rowlett; a stepson, Mike Hughs of Wellington; two stepdaughters, Patti Holiman and Connie Feemster, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Clyde L. Landreth of Alva, Waynedain Landreth of Minneapolis and Kenneth Landreth of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Sue Williams of Lubbock and Pat Skeel of Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren, Samantha Burd, Dana Jones and Simona Jones; a great-grandchild, Peyton Burd; six stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 20, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Mexico Marjory Warren Carr SANTA FE, N.M. - Marjory Warren Carr, 90, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary. Mrs. Carr was a 57-year resident of Santa Fe. Marjory was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, the youngest and last surviving child of Thomas "Jack" and Didama Gaines Warren. Marjory taught speech, English and drama at Santa Fe High School for 35 years. She was an independent spirit, an avid gardener, and continued to live on her own until a month before her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman J. Carr; a daughter, Sarah Carr Will; her brothers, Clarence, Gaines, and Frank; and her sisters, Addie and Birdie. Survivors include her sons, TJ Carr of Albuquerque and Cleve N. Carr of Indian Springs, Nev.; her grandchildren, John N. Carr of Seattle, Star Tucker Stater and Zoe Tucker Dalley, both of Amarillo, and Alexandra Carr Davis of Frederica Del.; and her great-grandchildren, Chancely and Cesarae Tucker, Sarah Stater, and Tori Davis.
