Weimer Robert H. Weimer, 77, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 18, 2004. Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Chester Beavers officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Weimer was born Dec. 29, 1926, in Fort Morgan, Colo., to Jacob and Mollie Weimer. He married Julane Mae Garvin in Raton, N.M., on Nov. 19, 1955. He was a veteran with more than 30 years of federal service with the Bureau of Reclamation of the Southwest Region. He joined the regional team in 1966 and was promoted to chief of irrigation operations branch in 1967. He was made supervisor of water and land operations in 1974 and was promoted to regional director in 1977. He retired in 1983. He held a degree of civil engineering from Colorado State University. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Dean Weimer and wife, Carrie, of Phoenix, Donald Jake Weimer of Amarillo and Alan Robert Weimer of Fort Worth; a stepdaughter, Judith C. Willemsen of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and four granddaughters, Amber Kempthorn, Morgan Kempthorn, Megan Weimer and Maggie Weimer. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Amarillo Globe-News, March 22, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stella Louise Wilson Powers Stella Louise Wilson Powers, 90, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 20, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Kevin Deckard, pastor of Westover Fellowship Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Powers was born on the Yellow House Ranch in 1913. She graduated from Bovina High School. She married Lester Eric Powers in Lovington, N.M., on Dec. 31, 1935. From 1935 to 1944, the Powers couple traveled extensively from Utah to Florida building military houses. In 1944, they settled in Amarillo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and mother-in-law. She was a homemaker, gardener, PTA member and cowgirl. She was a member of the local art club, quilt club and the Eastern Star. She was an avid Canasta and Pinochle player and she loved to square dance. She loved many people dearly and she was loved by many in return. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and two sisters, Billie Jean Wilson and Frances Laura Wilson Gatlin. Survivors include two sons, whom she dearly loved, Rickey Lynn Powers of Hooks and Kyle Lee Powers of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Misty Dawn Powers of Houston, Audrey DeLana Neville of Missouri City, Norissa Raye Aguirre of Amarillo and Yancey Kyle Powers of Macon, Ga.; and six great-grandchildren, Dustin Wayne Tragesser, Krystal Dawn Tragesser, Natalie Nicole Neville, Cheraye Ruth Aguirre, Erica Taylor Neville and Andrew Pete Aguirre. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Valleyview Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Larry Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. White was born in Cleburne and graduated from high school in Hillsboro. She married Harold White on Sept. 12, 1942. She had been a resident of Amarillo since 1952 where she worked in food service for many years including being a longtime employee at Eat Rite Health Food Store. She was a member of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964; and a son, Danny Lloyd White in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Charles White and wife, Betty, and Gary White and wife, Rachel, all of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Pauline White of Amarillo; two sisters, Lorena Day of Fort Worth and Lomelia Taylor of Lake Whitney; a sister-in-law, Flossie Sampson of Carrollton; grandchildren, David White, Karla Davis, Misty Clemmer, Chrystal White and Alexandra White; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with Stewart Smith officiating and the Rev. Gary Boles and the Rev. Neely Landrum assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis. Mrs. Hancock married Jake Hancock on April 28, 1962, at First United Methodist Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Philip Hancock of Lakeview; two daughters, KayDonna Wolfcale of Memphis and Joni Bomar of Silverton; two brothers, K.D. Nabers of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Mickie Nabers of Las Vegas; four sisters, Norma Martin and Winnie Davis, both of Memphis, Shirley Weldon of Jacksboro and Patsy Adcock of Show Low, Ariz.; and six grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 2 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home with the Rev. James McGowan, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Reed was born March 7, 1902, in Brashear, Texas, to Jesse W. Mosley and Julia Stauts Mosley. She married Louis Phelps Reed in 1928 in Dallas. Survivors include a daughter, Julia Reed Russell of Clayton; and nine grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Midland, Texas. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery. Mr. Keeter was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Canton, Ga., to the late Walter and Lecie Keeter. He married Marion Collins in 1973 in Canton. Survivors include three sisters, Avis Harwell of Plainview, Alice Tiller of Chico and Wynelle George of Tulia. Shearer Sr., 87, died Thursday, March 18, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Shearer married Mary Lorene Ryan in 1937. He built and managed theaters and managed the Bunavista Drive-In in Borger from 1949 to 1973. Survivors include his wife; a son, C.M. Shearer of Stow, Ohio; a daughter, Carol Stavlo of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.H. Calcutt officiating. Burial will be in Clinton City Cemetery. Mrs. McLamb was a native of Grapevine, Texas. She was a pediatric nurse at St. Anthony's Catholic Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, from 1961 to 1977. Survivors include her cousins, Roberta Pittman of Clarendon, Texas, Margaret Shaffer of Trevose, Pa., and Byrd and Sherry Adkins of Texas.
