Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John Westman, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside rites will be accorded by Pampa Chapter No. 65 Order of the Eastern Star. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cook married Leon M. Cook on June 24, 1934, at Sayre, Okla. She was a lifelong resident of Pampa. Survivors include a son, Don Cook of Tyler; a daughter, Wanda McIver of San Angelo; two sisters, Carrie Rose Hughes and Helen Harmon, both of Pampa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Farney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Naylor was born Oct. 30, 1909, in Beaver County, Okla. She had been a Sherman County resident since 1956. She married J.L. Naylor on Jan. 26, 1941, in Guymon, Okla. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and was very active in the church, including teaching Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989. Survivors include five children, Betty Fesler and Jeanie Bryson, both of Stratford, Beth Kesinger of Manhattan, Kan., Ruth Anuszkiewicz of Amarillo and Johnny Naylor of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Mary Hewitt of Norman, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ratliff was born Aug. 13, 1946, in Dumas. He retired in 1999 as welding supervisor for Sid Richardson. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Crawford was born to Clint and Janie Boren Crawford on Feb. 24, 1919, in Quay County, N.M. He married Virgie Irene Latham on April 20, 1993, in Canadian. Mr. Crawford had lived in Canadian since 1923 and was a cowboy for area ranches most of his life. He also was on the Canadian City Police Department for 13 years. He served with the Army, and was a member of VFW, American Legion and Central Baptist Church of Canadian. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Crawford on June 5, 1988. Survivors include his wife; a son, Billy Joe Crawford of Clifton, Colo.; a sister, Veneta Andrews of Liberal, Kan.; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Bivins was employed by the post office in Pampa from 1959 until his retirement as superintendent of mail in 1992. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Hinkle was born June 17, 1913, in Port, Okla. He married Eunice Spears on Aug. 4, 1933, in Hollis, Okla. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1935, where he was employed by Cabot Corp. until 1948. The Hinkles farmed north of Canute, Okla., until 1958, when he returned to Cabot Corp. until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of and attended Hobart Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 4, 1998; a granddaughter, Karla Nelson; and a grandson, Jeffery Hinkle. Survivors include a son, Darrell Hinkle and wife, Norma, of Pampa; a daughter, Gail Cooper and husband, David, of Pampa; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hinkle of Amarillo; and a great-granddaughter, Keziah Nelson of Pampa. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Price was born June 2, 1957, in Olton. He was a pilot. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Dumas. He married Karen Franklin on June 20, 1980, in Muleshoe. He was a graduate of Springlake-Earth in 1975. He had worked at Jack Oldham Oil since 1994 as a spray pilot. He was a longtime Mason and Shriner. He was a Dumas resident since 1994 and was a former longtime Lamb County resident. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kristen Garcia of Dumas and Sam Price of Amarillo; a son, Jett Price of Dumas; his mother, Novella Martin of Turkey; two brothers, Monty Price of Geneva, Ill., and Max Price of Cottonwood, Ariz.; a sister, Mona Wheeler of Turkey; and a grandchild, M'Kambrie Marylynn Garcia. Mrs. Merritt was born Dec. 30, 1909 in Elida, N.M. She came from Motley County to Cochran County in 1945. She was married to Bruce Ronald Calvin on April 28, 1983. She was a homemaker who loved her family and cared for them well. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Melanie Jean Molder of Bastrop and Dandria Leigh Hager and husband, Homer Paul, of Katy; a brother, Larry Riggins of Lodi, Calif.; a sister, Jennie Tuschman of Houston; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Bechtol was born in Hobbs, N.M., on Sept. 12, 1937, to David and Chrystine Bechtol. She was raised in Amarillo, where she graduated from Amarillo High School and later from West Texas State University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She began her teaching career at Paramount Terrace Elementary School. She also taught at Bushland Elementary School in Bushland, Lackland Elementary School at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and Booker T. Washington Elementary and Scobee Elementary in San Antonio. After 36 years of teaching, she retired in 2000. She will be remembered by her family and friends for many things, but mainly for her unconditional love for each and every one of them. She will also be remembered for her love for children and animals, her commitment and dedication to her teaching career and also for being an avid University of Texas Longhorn fan. She was preceded in death by her father, Captain David T. Bechtol in 1945; a son, Deran Allen Johnson in 1990; and a puppy, Muffy, in 2004. Survivors include her mother, Chrystine Rives of Amarillo; a daughter, Denisa Lusso and husband, Russell, of Amarillo; a son, Derek Johnson and wife, Kathy, of Corpus Christi; her five devoted grandchildren, Mandy Hoover, Chrystine Johnson, Dawn Williams, Michael Blankenship and Miles Blankenship; a great- grandchild, Tre' Williams; and two puppies, Mimi and Lil Bit. Van Huss, 85, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 21, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Rich Jones of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Van Huss was born in McGregor on July 20, 1918, to Grover Cleveland Van Huss and his wife, Maudie Lee Johnson. He was an only child. He had lived in Amarillo in the 1950s and then moved to Albuquerque, N.M. He retired in 1981 and moved to Oklahoma. He returned to Amarillo two years ago. He was a retired truck driver. He had driven for Groendyke Transport, Steere Tank Lines and Ponca Wholesale. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Helen Trapp on July 25, 1936, in Clovis, N.M. They had been friends since childhood and were married 66 years. He was a wonderful husband, daddy and paw-paw. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father in 1918; his mother, Maudie Autrey, in 1988; and his stepfather, Nincard Milo Autrey, in 1971. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Jeff Conway, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Miller was born Sept. 16, 1908, in Miles. She grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Pascall High School in 1926. She attended Gulf Park College in Biloxi, Miss., and later transferred to University of Texas, becoming a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mary Lou married Jack W. Miller, also of Fort Worth, on Valentine's Day 1930. They later moved to Castro County, where he pioneered dry land wheat farming on family land west of Dimmitt. Irrigation came in the late 1940s, growing cotton and milo, along with running cattle on winter wheat. Jack and Mary Lou moved to Amarillo in 1947, building a home at 37 Oldham Circle. Mary Lou was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and later Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was an avid card player, gardener and past member of Amarillo Country Club, Amarillo Club, Amarillo Art Center and Vagabond Dance Club. Mary Lou loved to entertain and definitely had a flair for French recipes. Travel had also been a lifetime interest. She was aboard the maiden flight of the Concord from Paris to New York, crossing the Atlantic in four hours. Jack died in 1994 after having shared almost 64 years together. Survivors include a son, Tom Miller and wife, Audrey, of Amarillo; and a grandson, Thomas Miller of Dallas.
