Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dale Travis, pastor of Family Life Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Shutt was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Arbyrd, Mo., to Theodore C. Sr. and Ocea Shutt. He was a graduate of Leachville High School in Arkansas. He married Susan L. Stultz on June 1, 1962, in Amarillo. He was retired from the Air Force after more than 20 years of service. He worked for Pantex for 20 years. He was a member of VFW and was a member of Family Life Fellowship Church. He was a member of Pantex Union, IAM. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer W. Shutt and Donnie Shutt; and his parents. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Abbott and husband, John, of Amarillo; a son, Bryce C. Shutt, M.D., of Waco; three sisters, Grace Moody and husband, Austin, of Madison, Tenn., Sharon Burkewitz and husband, Bob, of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and Barbara Shutt of Lewisport, Ky.; four brothers, Bill Shutt and wife, Jean, of Lewisport, John Taylor Shutt and wife, Gladys, of Conroe, Mike Shutt and wife, JoNeil, of Paragould, Ark., and Ronnie Shutt of Arbyrd; and two grandchildren, Aaron Young and Kaila Young, both of Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. J.D. Young and the Rev. Donald Conner officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Gipson was born Aug. 25, 1904, to Charles and Ada Shipman in Haleyville, Ala. She married Lee Alexander Gipson on July 15, 1924, in Wheeler. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 26, 1973; her parents; two daughters, Dortha Nell Gipson and Betty Butler; a son, Duane Gipson; two sons- in-law, Willie Roy Clancy and W.R. Clancy Jr.; three grandsons, Gary Coward, Randy Clancy and Rusty Gipson; and a great-great-grandson, Cliff Allen. Mr. Matheson was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Manitou, Okla. He married Wanda Jones on May 8, 1947, in Manitou. They lived in Perryton for 32 years before moving to Amarillo in 1988. He retired from Haliburton Co. after 40 years, working as a safety training engineer. Mr. Matheson enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching. He loved to travel. He was a devoted family man and company man. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Brannon in 2003. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Ellis of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Monte Matheson of Amarillo; and a daughter, Holly Yates of Tulsa. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. deVries was born in Pampa and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936. She also attended Fleming Business College in 1937 and 1938. She retired from accounting with the Texas Highway Department. Mrs. deVries was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Our mom, the stalwart soul of our family, possessed a sweet spirit. She was our role model, friend, mentor and confidante. She had many dear friends who speak of her warm smile, tender heart, and inward and outward beauty. She was a generous, loving Mema to her grandchildren. She'll truly be missed by all of us. The family would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Zorsky, his staff and Odyssey Healthcare. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Renee Lott Roberts in 1983; a grandson, Chad Salmon in 1994; two brothers, J.D. Hinds and Clint Hinds; and two sisters, Goldie Lanier and Claudia Hinds. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Christian Heritage Church with Gary Burd, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Dirks was born in Hedley. She moved to Canyon in 1955. She had lived in Albuquerque, N.M., and Williams, Ariz., before moving to Amarillo in 1985. She worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for several years. Mrs. Dirks was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders and had received numerous awards for her crafts. She married Bobby Rex Griffin in 1955 at Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Rexann Rosen of Amarillo; three sons, Paul Griffin and Matthew Rex Griffin, both of Amarillo, and Justin Ross Griffin of Odessa; a sister, Geraldine; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Caufield Jr., 96, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 28, 2004. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jim Bankhead, senior pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Caufield, a sixth generation Texan, was born Oct. 29, 1907, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Caufield Sr. of McGregor and Waco. He moved to Borger on Sept. 13, 1929, and resided there for 15 years, where he was employed as a chemist with Phillips Petroleum Co. In 1943, he married the former Mildred Kirk of Amarillo. He moved to Amarillo in 1945 to become associated with White and Kirk Department Store, serving as president from 1961 to 1970. After the merger of White and Kirk with Sakowitz, Mr. Caufield maintained a gift, antique and stained glass studio at 1515 Polk St. for about 15 years. As a seventh generation Presbyterian, he was a member and elder in the First Presbyterian Church. He served on the Amarillo School Board for five years and also served on the boards of Family Services, Travelers Aid, Humane Society, Animal Control Authority, Tuberculosis Association, United Fund, Art Center, Harrington House, YWCA and the Food Bank. He also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 28, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Ramsey of Valley View; a son, Dean Kirk Caufield of Montrose, Colo.; four granddaughters; a brother, Cavitt J. Caufield of McGregor; and five nieces. Mr. Bowen was an RV mechanic for more than 35 years and was co-owner of Bowen Motor Co. He was a loving husband, father and Pa Pa. He was preceded in death by his father, E.D. Red Bowen in 1994; and a granddaughter, Kathlenene Jane Bowen in 1995.
