Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Mobeetie Cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Laverty, pastor of Gageby Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Harris was born Dec. 21, 1919, in White Deer to Riley and Elizabeth Richardson. She married Sidney William Harris on April 17, 1937, in Sayre, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 1989. Survivors include three sons, Doug Harris and wife, Sally, of Merritt Island, Fla., Ron Harris and wife, Shirley, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Michael Harris and wife, Mable, of Corona, Calif.; a daughter, Vickie Smith of Salem, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Central Baptist Church with Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home of McLean. Mrs. Winegeart was born June 29, 1915, in Wellington. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Earl Winegeart of Oklahoma and Don Winegeart of Lefors; a daughter, JoAnn Ring of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Neta Cleveland of Marfa, Nona Thomas of Childress, Doris Lund of Port Orchard, Wash., and Dorene Young of Pampa. Mrs. Custer was born April 14, 1930, in Lipscomb County. She married Desley Custer on Feb. 13, 1949, in Booker. Survivors include her husband; a son, Leslie James Custer of North Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Judith Carol Newland of Ponca City, Okla.; a sister, Wilma Jean Slovacek of Booker; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Lambert, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Grant was born July 22, 1937, to Horace and Ruby West Grant in Plaska. From October 1955 to February 1957, he served in the Army in Korea during peacetime as a military policeman. Survivors include his wife, Maudine; two daughters, Tina Rippy of Amarillo and Vicky Grant of Kingston, Okla.; five sons, Tim Paschall of Wellington, Ricky Grant and Rocky Grant, both of Amarillo, Mickey Gaylor of Springfield, Mo., and Randy Grant of Buffalo; two sisters, Faylene Conner of Kingston, Okla., and Sandra Carmack of East Moline, Ill.; a brother, Don Grant of Pittsburg; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in The Chapel with Dr. Steve McElroy officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Portales Cemetery in Portales by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Echelbarger was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Yorktown, Ill. He married Jean Schneekloth on Sept. 21, 1946, in Sterling, Ill. Survivors include his wife; a son, Glen Echelbarger of Bothell, Wash.; and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Booker United Methodist Church in Booker. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery near Booker by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mrs. Vijjeswarapu was born May 1, 1914, in Unikili, India. She married Sreenivasa Rao Vijjeswarapu on Jan. 9, 1939. Survivors include a daughter, Mary of Pearland; three sons, Winston of Houston, Kumar of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Daniel of Corpus Christi; and seven grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 3, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amarillo Joan Dirks Joan Dirks, 71, of Amarillo died Tuesday March 30, 2004, in Claude. Memorial services were at 4 p.m. Friday in Christian Heritage Church with Gary Burd, pastor, officiating. Arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Dirks was born in Hedley. She moved to Canyon in 1955. She had lived in Albuquerque, N.M., and Williams, Ariz., before moving to Amarillo in 1985. She worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for several years. Mrs. Dirks was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders and had received numerous awards for her crafts. She married Bobby Rex Griffin in 1955 at Clovis. He died in 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Rexann Rosen of Amarillo; three sons, Paul Griffin and Matthew Rex Griffin, both of Amarillo, and Justin Ross Griffin of Odessa; a sister, Geraldine; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels in care of of BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, 200 N.W. 7th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79107.
