Roberson Sybil A. Roberson, 77, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 10, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Ricky Sims, pastor of DeSoto Christian Church of DeSoto, Mo., officiating. Mrs. Roberson was born to Stanley and Barbara Wekwert in Detroit. She graduated from St. Casmere High School in Posen, Mich. She married David Roberson on June 6, 1959. She worked for Amarillo Independent School District, was a private nurse and worked for Underwood's Restaurant. She also was owner and operator of Valley Floral, S & D Cafe and Valley Donut Shop. She volunteered for Potter County Commodities and was active with Feed the Children. She attended St. Lawrence's Catholic Church. Anyone that knew Sybil knew that she had a big and giving heart. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diane Eslick and husband, David, of Amarillo; three sons, Tim L. Booth and wife, Drew, Marion S. Booth and wife, Tresia, and Murray L. Booth and wife, Susan, all of Amarillo; four sisters, Evelyn Woods of Toledo, Ohio, Anna Hincka of Posen, Shirley Conner of Amarillo and Teresa Tadejewski of Alpena, Mich.; five brothers, Leonard Wekwert and wife, Kay, and Donald Wekwert and wife, Carol, all of Posen, Eugene Wekwert and Roy Wekwert and wife, Sally, all of Alpena, Mich., and Stanley Wekwert Jr. of Onaway, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Carrigan Edward P. Carrigan, M.D., 81, of Amarillo died Monday, April 5, 2004. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Dr. Carrigan was born in Windsor, England. He served as a flight navigator in the Royal Air Force during World War II. After the war he attended Liverpool University School of Medicine. He practiced as an orthopedic surgeon in Alberta, Canada, and Richmond, Va., for many years. While practicing in Canada, Dr. Carrigan served as a flight surgeon in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was also a graduate of Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Carrigan enjoyed attending operas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Carrigan of Toronto; a son, Ian Carrigan of Edmonton, Canada; a granddaughter, Sara Carrigan of Toronto; a sister, Edna Cowie of Liverpool, England; two brothers, Raymon Carrigan and Douglas Carrigan, M.D.; and his common-law wife, Lynn Gaut of Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. James Collins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Anderson was born in Tenaha and was an Amarillo resident for 40 years. He was employed by Bridgestone Tires for 35 years. Survivors include five sons, John L. Williams and wife, Brenda, of Dallas, Glenn C. and Danny W. Williams and Donnie S. and Robert L. Anderson III, all of Amarillo; eight sisters, Virginia Anderson of Wellington, Evion Johnson of Elk City, Okla., Ceter Bell Kellum and Vernel Williams, both of Tyler, Vonciel Hunt of Sacramento, Calif., and Essie and Lela Anderson and Ester Robinson, all of Shreveport, La.; three brothers, Willis Gray of Dallas, Curtis Anderson of Roswell, N.M., and James Gray of Timpson; 10 grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Everett, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Finley was born Feb. 11, 1944, to J.T. and Anna Mae Kincaid Finley in Collingsworth County. He was a veteran, serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War and as a Navy SEAL. Survivors include a daughter, Heather Jesseph of Hollis, Okla.; two sons, Zac Finley of Hollis and James Patterson of Wellington; his mother of Wellington; a sister, Mary Foster of Wellington; a brother, Michael Finley of Mansfield; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Hutchison was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Guthrie to Warren Ray and Sally Afton Hensley Smith. She had been a lifelong resident of Cottle, King and Childress Counties. Survivors include three sons, Bucky Smith, Barry Smith and Joe Bruce Smith, all of Paducah; a brother, Joe Rex Smith of Weatherford; three sisters, Sandra Shipman of Lees Summit, Mo., Janet Sparkman of Edna and Mary Lou Burns of Mississippi; and four grandchildren. Mr. Cottrell married Juanita McClain on Aug. 23, 1947, in Clovis, N.M. He lived in the Olton area for a lifetime. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lane Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Norrell, deacon of Christ The King Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Stone was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Wilburton, Okla. He had been a Sunray resident since 1956. He married Evelyn Evans on Oct. 11, 1952, in Dumas. He worked at American Zinc and retired from Continental Carbon in 1994. He served in the Armed Services from 1953 to 1955. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Jackson and husband, Andy, of Logan, N.M., and Vanetta Passmore and husband, Dee, of Sayre, Okla.; three sisters, Sue Cline and husband, Bill, and Mildred Bassham, all of Dumas, and Frankie Evans and husband, Jim, of Canyon; a brother, Jimmy Stone of Sunray; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Sunday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. today in the church with the Rev. Scott Adams officiating. Burial will be in Hartville Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. The son of Paula Vela and Bonifacio Diaz, Mr. Vela was born March 30, 1944, in Torreon, Coah., Mexico. He had worked as a truck driver and had been living in Hardesty since 2001. Survivors include his mother of Chihuahua, Mexico; three daughters, Celia Diaz of Chihuahua, Patricia Diaz of Hardesty and Sylvia Diaz of C.D Juarez, Chih, Mexico; two sons, Filiberto Diaz Jr. of Hardesty and Jose Diaz of Dallas; three sisters, Juana Diaz, Leticia Diaz and Alicia Diaz, all of Chihuahua; three brothers, Pedro Diaz, Joaquin Diaz and Salvador Diaz, all of Chihuahua; and 14 grandchildren.
