Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with A.B. Tiffee III officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Nation was born March 21, 1955, in Amarillo to Pete Tiffee and Ola Mae Roberson. Margie was a member of Grace Community Church. She was an employee with the VA Hospital for 18 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Dewayne Nation; and her father. Survivors include her husband, Robert; a daughter, Tiffee Nation of Amarillo; her mother of Amarillo; two brothers, Jim Tiffee and James Tiffee, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, April 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Irene "Tommy" Edmonson Irene "Tommy" Edmonson, 81, of Amarillo died Thursday, April 15, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Los Lunas, N.M., and Danny Logan, pastor of Bell Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Edmonson was born July 17, 1922, in Milford, Iowa, to Theodore "Pete" and Olga Westlin Johnson and was raised in Wright City, Mo. During World War II, she worked at Boeing in Bremerton, Wash., and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps, where she helped build bombers. In 1946, Irene married Willard H. Edmonson in Merced, Calif. She lived in Amarillo for more than 56 years and worked as a clerk typist at Amarillo Air Force Base until 1968. She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church, Mary Sunday school class and Diamond Set. Mrs. Edmonson loved traveling, camping and fishing with her family. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful baby blankets for the Carenet Crisis Pregnancy Center and making quilts for Faith City Mission. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Willard H. Edmonson; a granddaughter, Bonnie Qualls; and a brother, Dwayne Johnson. Survivors include two children, Pamela Kay Qualls and husband, Marvin, of Amarillo and Randy Edmonson and wife, Sandy, of Garland; four grandchildren, Eric Edmonson, Brett Edmonson and Jami Edmonson, all of Garland, and Serenity Qualls of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Louella Johnson of Columbus, Ga.; and two nephews, Ricky Johnson of Wimberley and Danny Johnson of San Antonio. Amarillo Globe-News, April 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Barton "Jim" McFarland James Barton "Jim" McFarland, 92, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 21, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Clifton Mann, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. McFarland was born in Higgins and moved to Amarillo when he was 6. He was a businessman and farmer. He was the branch manager of Monroe Calculating Machine Co. for many years and had a farm in Armstrong County. Jim, or "Barta," as family and friends knew him, was very active in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Friday men's prayer group for more than 50 years. He served as a vestry member, a church warden as well as a diocesan delegate on a number of occasions. Mr. McFarland was a longtime member of Downtown Kiwanis Club. He was a member for more than 60 years and this fall received the C.T. Bush Award from the Texas/Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation for longtime service to the club and the community. He married Frankie Atkins McFarland in 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Mary McFarland and Janice Smith, both of Amarillo; his grandchildren, David and Beth Smith of Amarillo; and a great- granddaughter, Emma Grace Smith of Amarillo. He was retired from IBP. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Walters was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Centerville. She received her bachelor's degree from West Texas State University and her master's degree from the University of Colorado. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1948. She was a school teacher and counselor with Goodnight, Borger and Pampa independent school districts for 50 years. She was a member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Texas State Teachers Association, Retired Teachers Association, American Cancer Society and Panhandle Mental Health Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Walters; and three brothers, Joe B. Leaverton, Sam Leaverton and Charlie Leaverton. Survivors include three nephews, Nick Leaverton of Chandler, Bert Lee Leaverton of Knox City and Jerry Leaverton of Henrietta; a sister-in-law, Lou Leaverton of Knox City; two special friends, Lodema Mitchell and Wille Mae Mangold, both of Pampa; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Allison was born Oct. 14, 1959, in Tulia. She was the daughter of John Earl and Voncille Simpson of Tulia. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1978. She attended Angelo State University and graduated from West Texas State University with a degree in elementary education. She taught school for 14 years in Tulia, Ozona, Bledsoe, San Antonio, Lubbock and Highland. She also received a Realtor's license and was a Realtor with Keller Williams in Lubbock. At her death, she was living in Highland and teaching fourth grade. Survivors include her parents; her husband, Jim of Highland; three sons, Landon, Caleb and Logan Powell, all of Highland; the children's father, Rodney Powell of Shallowater; two sisters, Celia Bragg of San Angelo and Olivia Adamson and husband, Keith, of San Antonio; a brother, John Earl Simpson III and wife, Nita, of Tulia; a nephew; and two nieces. She was a former resident of Pampa and lived in Oklahoma City for the past 20 years. She attended West Texas State College and graduated from Kansas State University. She taught school in Texas and New Mexico. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Hopper; her parents, John Marvin and Twila May Daugherty; and two brothers, Leon Daugherty and Bruce Daugherty.
