Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Kiefer was born March 17, 1937, in Oklahoma City. He was the adopted son of John and Dollie Kiefer of Wichita, Kan. He was schooled in required academics in Wichita and joined the Air Force at age 17. He was cum laude and on the honor roll at Odessa College. He collected many ribbons for valor, including the Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Ribbon and Expert Marksmanship. He was stationed in Alaska, Vietnam, Iwo Jima, the Philippines, Germany and California. He married Norma "Skip" J. Smith in Amarillo at the Air Force Base Chapel in 1959. They would have celebrated their 44th year anniversary in September. He retired from Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring. He was a loving husband and father who had a generous heart and helped friends and strangers. He had an awesome sense of humor that was only outmatched by his work ethic. He was a master mechanic who could fix anything. He will be greatly missed by his family. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Drew Kiefer and wife, Mary, of Midland; a daughter, Shannon Lynn Kiefer of Wichita; and four grandsons, Chad, Daniel, William and Anthony. His body has been donated to Life's Gifts so that others with catastrophic illnesses could be helped. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Bivins Memorial Nursing Home with the Rev. Chad Horton, chaplain, officiating and the Rev. Joe Boney, pastor of Wilderness Baptist Church in Duboise, Wyo., assisting. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Shelburne, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, 5th Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Fulton was born in Amarillo and had been a lifetime resident. He worked as a printer and had retired from Miller Printing Co. He was a charter member and elder of North Amarillo Christian Church. He was most recently a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. He married Kathleen Barnett on Jan. 30, 1932, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 10, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Graham of Fritch and Sue Brogden and husband, Geary, of Newnan, Ga.; three granddaughters, Cindy Boney of Duboise, Tammy Vick of Fair Oaks Ranch and Shelley Vinson of Amarillo; three grandsons, Kevin Brogden of Richmond, Va., Matthew Brogden of Canton, Ga., and Brian Brogden of Amarillo; 17 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Fulton of Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Crain married John Newton Crain Sr. on Dec. 1, 1966. She worked at Pantex as a secretary and a systems specialist before retiring in 1982. She enjoyed playing bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and a son, Raymond H. Crain in 1974. Survivors include a son; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 25, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred Mark Ely Fred Mark Ely, 82, of Mount Carmel, Ill., formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with Mickey Ely officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Ely was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Crowell County, the son of Uncas and Elsie Marie Johnson Ely. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Greenup, Ill. He was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He retired from the Texaco Refinery in Amarillo after 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Fern Ely in 1991. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Brenda Grubb Ely, of Mount Carmel; three daughters, Wynona Helfenbein and Sharon Johnson, both of Amarillo and Jeanette Robbins of Rapid City, S.D.; three sons, Mickey Ely of Columbus, Ind., and Quentin Ely and Stan Ely, both of Houston; 13 grandchildren, Lisa Woods Caid, Stacy Allen Johnson, Randon Johnson, Aaron Dalton, Jessica Ely Schnepp, Jason Ely, Skylar Ely, Austin Ely, Colton Ely, Uncas Ely, Ila Ely, Alma Ely and Eva Ely; and seven great-grandchildren, Wynne Caid, Wiley Caid, Woodrow Caid, Shea Johnson, Jay Johnson, Gabe Johnson, Abby Rose Dalton and three on the way. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bill Hodges, pastor of Clarendon Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Christopher was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Clarendon and had been a resident of Donley County most of her life. She married Jesse Lowell Christopher on Jan. 7, 1943, at Clarendon. She was a homemaker whose life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as other family members. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 14, 1964. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Judd and Karen Wortham, both of Clarendon, and Barbara Graham of Amarillo; a son, Larry L. Christopher of Clarendon; a sister, May Pearl McDonald of Kingston, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Hamilton was born Nov. 3, 1932, in Clarksville. She grew up in Edmonson and Plainview where she graduated from Plainview High School in 1950. She moved to Tulia in 1953. She worked for Swisher Electric Co-op for 25 years. She married Wayne Hamilton on Nov. 11, 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. Her husband died Friday, April 23, 2004, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Crader and Billy Crader; a daughter, Kay Sturgess in May 2003; and a son-in-law, Robert Sturgess in December 2003. Survivors include three sons, Randy Campbell and wife, Fleta, and J.C. Campbell, all of Amarillo, and Gregg Campbell and wife, Stephanie of Perryton; her stepchildren, Todd Hamilton of Allen, Art Hamilton of Oklahoma City, Max Hamilton of Madisonville and Tammy Craig of Houston; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Home of Canyon, 1702 Fifth Ave. Mrs. Burns was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Wayside to James Samuel Sluder and Bonnie Franklin Sluder. She married Roy J.A. Burns Sr. on Nov. 8, 1958, in Young County, Texas. Survivors include two daughters, Lillian Louise McCoy of Breckenridge and Willarene Hunt of Mineral Wells, Texas; two sons, Danny Ray Burns and Roy J.A. Mrs. Bradley was born in Clarendon, graduated from Clarendon High School and attended Clarendon Junior College before marrying Dale Bradley on May 23, 1953. The couple lived in Abilene and have been residents of Lubbock since 1980. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rhonda Farish and husband, Mike, of Mc Kinney, and LaDonna Easley and husband, Dennis, of Harlingen; three grandchildren, Ashton and Brandon Easley and Natasha Farish; a sister, Delene Tyler of Quitaque; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Linda Blair of Lubbock; and a brother, Harry Edward Blair Jr. of Austin. Roy Carpenter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery by Owens and Brumley Funeral Home. Mr. Roe retired from proud service in the Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He worked in civil service at S.A.F.B. as an assistant administrator of contracting with the 82nd MSG.
