Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Anna Street Church of Christ with Marion Gion officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Chambers was born in Rockwood. She graduated from Sparenberg High School. She married George Robert Chambers on Aug. 28, 1949, in Plainview. They moved to Amarillo in 1960. She retired from JC Penney and became active in the JC Penney retirement group. She had been a longtime member of Anna Street Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 1, 1992. Surivors include three daughters, Carolyn Shipman of Plano, Shirlene Watson of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and Teresa Allen of Dallas; two sisters, Lorene Lobstein and Marie Darrington; two brothers, Clarence Lobstein and Melven Lobstein; and three grandchildren, Jordan Watson, Jacob Watson and Emily Shipman. Alan Williamson, chaplain of Ware Memorial, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Medler was born in Oklahoma City to Louis and Blanche Mades. After the death of her first husband, Leonard Baker, she married William E. Medler in Borger on June 11, 1981. She was an executive secretary, retiring from J.M. Huber Corp. She loved golf, bridge, swimming and traveling. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She had been in Amarillo since 1989 and was a resident of Park Place Towers. She was preceded in death by a son, Philip Baker. "Bud" Taylor Sr., 80, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 4, 2004. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Shelburne, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery with military rites by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Grandfield, Okla., to John and Ida Taylor. He enlisted in the Army in 1941, where he served in the European Theater of Operations and was involved in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He was later called back in 1950 during the Korean conflict. He helped train troops at Fort Hood and was transferred to Fort Gordon, Ga., where he was food service supervisor before being discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He had last worked as a salesman for Whites Auto and Heath's Furniture before retiring. Mr. Taylor had served as president of Faith City Mission and as a Kiwanis Club president. He helped start Kids Inc. in Canyon. He also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He was very involved in hospital ministry and was honorary chaplain for the 291st combat engineers. He had been a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church for more than 50 years, where he served on the board many times. He spent his entire life always serving others. He married Flora Lee Sinks in 1946 in Electra. Survivors include his wife; two sons, William E. Taylor Jr. and wife, Janet, of Midland, and Mickey Taylor and wife, Diane, of Claude; a daughter, Jill Reece and husband, Larry, of Amarillo; a brother, Curt Taylor of Del City, Okla.; a sister, Agnes Wilson of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren, DeeDee Evans, Tyra Starnes, Brian Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Shoni Sills, P.J. He was an Army Ranger during the Korean conflict and worked in construction for many years. She and her husband owned All Pro Roofing. She was a former member of Eastern Star. Mrs. Rodgers was an all-around great lady, wife, mother and grandmother. Mr. Clark was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Fyffe, Ala. He was a Dumas resident since 1941. He was a welder and contractor. He was a 53-year member of Pipeliners Union Local 798. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. He married Ruth Finchum on April 15, 1933, in Paducah. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Roger Clark; two great- granddaughters, Miranda Clark and Samantha May; four brothers; and three sisters. The family will be at 122 Cherry St. Amarillo Globe-News, May 7, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Earl Ed Novak SPEARMAN - Dr. Earl Ed Novak, 69, died Thursday, May 6, 2004. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Novak was the third child of Beatrice Frances (Nespor) and Frank F. Novak. He was born Nov. 7, 1934, on the Novak farm south of Spearman. Soon after his father passed away in February 1944, the Novaks moved to Yukon, Okla., to be closer to family. He attended Yukon schools and graduated from Yukon High School with the Class of 1953. The family returned to Spearman each summer to farm, where Earl came to love the farm, the Panhandle and its people. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he entered Baylor University College of Dentistry in Dallas in the fall of 1957. It was at Baylor that he met a young dental hygiene student, also attending Baylor. Earl Ed and Barbara Lee Fulkerson were married Nov. 26, 1959, in Fort Worth. After graduating with honors from dental school, the young dentist and his bride returned to Hansford County where Earl could enjoy all the things he loved, arriving just in time for wheat harvest. Bobbie and Earl established their dental practice, E.E. Novak, DDS Dental Clinic in August 1961. They worked at their business, farmed, raised their family, and loved and lived their life in Spearman. In 1981, they began work on the "ranch house" up near Hardesty, Okla., where they enjoyed friends, neighbors and the outdoors. Dr. Novak retired and sold his dental practice in 1999 and after a short retirement, he began volunteer dentistry at the Community Dental Clinic of Amarillo. His volunteering soon turned into part-time work. He was an active member of First Christian Church and was a member of the choir. Earl had recently enjoyed singing in a barbershop quartet, The Wizards of Harmony. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Novak; his mother and step- father, Frances and Ben Yanda; and a brother, Frank Novak, Jr. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cinda Haruch and husband, Jamie, of Jonesboro, Ga.; a son, Hunter Novak and wife, Bonnie, of Guymon, Okla.; a sister, Doris Cornwell Davis; and father-in-law Woodrow Fulkerson of Spearman; and his adoring grandchildren, Kate Haruch, Ethan Novak and Griffin Novak. Mrs. Sebastian was from Austin pioneer families, the Pils and Jensens, who came to Austin through Ellis Island, N.Y., from Germany and Denmark in the 1890s. Becky was born and raised in Austin. She graduated from old Austin High School in 1946 and on Jan. 1, 1948, she married her husband of 56 years, Adrian Sebastian. The family gratefully acknowledges Dr. Wilner Jeudey and the staff of Houston Hospice for their expert and loving care of our mother and sister during her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ehrfried R. and Marie C. Mrs. Rose was born in Lubbock on March 28, 1923, to J.W. and Jewell Chism. She graduated from Lubbock High School and from Draughon's Business College. She was sweetheart of Beta Sigma Phi and worked in the family business, Chism's Bakery, in Lubbock for many years. She married A.L. Rose on Oct. 22, 1944, and they were married for 58 years until his death. Mrs. Rose was a master gardener, who loved gardening and flower arranging. Her other joys were her antique club, her bridge club, her church and her family. Mrs. Rose died after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; and two sisters, Mildred and Mary Jo.
