Craig Bessie L. Craig, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 15, 2004. No services will be held at this time. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Craig, born to Samuel and Fanny Smith of Wellington, moved to Amarillo in 1945. She and her husband owned Craig Garage on Amarillo Boulevard and were the original owners of Amarillo Speed Bowl. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.H. "Speedy" Craig in 1989. Survivors inlclude a daughter, Carolyn Craig of Pottsboro; a grandson, Brent Coursey of Townville, S.C.; four great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Monte McLaughlin. Ms. Henderson was born and raised in Clarendon. She graduated from Clarendon High School and pursued a career in business as a secretary. She moved to Amarillo and then in 1983 to Fort Worth, where she became a hairdresser and a dental assistant. She also worked for Harris Methodist Hospital in the dietary department. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tommie and Rosie Childs; an aunt, Rosie Louise Hall; and a cousin, Hershall Gardner. Survivors include her mother, Etta Rene McCampbell of Amarillo; a daughter, Courtney Henderson of Fort Worth; six sisters, Carmen Childs, Rosie McCampbell and Juanita McCampbell, all of Amarillo, Oleta McCampbell and Kathy McCampbell of Fort Worth; a brother, Hamilton McCampbell of Amarillo; six aunts and an uncle, William and Dorothy Hawthorne and Othello Bowie, all of Amarillo, Billie Gaines of Clarendon, Estella Mae Bringham of Irving, Norma Lee of Orange and Dale and Jean Childs of Brownwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A lifelong member of the Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and loved to quilt. Mrs. Seymour retired as a draftswoman from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 40 years of service. For many years she was an active participant in the Wild Rose Auxiliary of the UTU, Pecos Valley Craft Club and SBC Pioneers. Her passions included flower gardening, reading and globe trotting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Seymour; five sisters; and a brother. Survivors include her children, Dick Seymour and wife, Bonnie, and Jackie Don Seymour and wife, Joan, all of Amarillo, and Scottie Odle and husband, Richard, of Moscow, Russia; a brother, Bill Presley and wife, Marnelle, of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Primitive Baptist Church with R.A. Tindall, elder, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Miami Cemetery in Miami by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Smyth was born in Amarillo and raised in the Texas Panhandle. He graduated from Miami High School in Miami. He attended Texas Tech University. He married Alice Laverne Barrington on Sept. 20, 1948, in Amarillo. He was a rancher for many years before becoming a master plumber. At the time of his retirement in 1993, he was assistant manager for Loomis Armored Car Co. He was a deacon at Amarillo Primitive Baptist Church. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lee Smyth in 1988. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Celia Haskell of Dallas, Celita Holcomb and Connie Mell, both of Amarillo, and Cheryl Bump of Euless; a son, Curtis Smyth of Amarillo; his mother, Gladys Smyth of Miami; an uncle, Jimmie Smyth of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Bell St. Mr. Price was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Maysville, Okla., to Emmitt and Della Price. He married Ann Price in Amarillo. R.J. worked for Santa Fe Railway from 1942 until his retirement in 1981. He was an avid bird hunter. He was a member of the Walking Club at Western Plaza and a charter member of Olsen Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Rose Teal in 1965; and two brothers, Kent and Glen Roy Price. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sue Boras and husband, Raymond, of Cumming, Ga.; a brother, David Price and wife, Ruth, of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Ruth Boras and Sephra Stephenson; and two great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Higgins was born Sept. 25, 1927, in Amarillo to Maureen and Felix Phillips. She lived in Amarillo her entire life. She attended Amarillo College and Texas Tech University. She was formerly employed by the Rosenwald Advertising Agency, Panhandle Insurance Agency and the Wolfram Law Firm and worked as a secretary for 15 years at Children's Protective Services before retiring. She then was the coordinator for the Young at Heart Program, sponsored by Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA). This involved recruiting and training seniors to volunteer in day care centers in Amarillo. She also volunteered as a reading tutor in the Amarillo Independent School District's Help One Student to Succeed (HOSTS) program for several years. She also had volunteered her secretarial skills at Family Outreach of Amarillo, Crown of Texas Hospice and BSA Hospice. She was a former member of the Junior League of Amarillo, where she served from 1951 until 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tommie Phillips; and a granddaughter, Holli Amber Higgins. Survivors include two sons, Joe Dan Higgins and Mike Higgins, both of Amarillo; her beloved grandson, Travis and special friend, Susan Higgins; her grandchildren, Shaun, Matthew and Andrew; special caregivers, Mari and Terry Box; and many dear friends and colleagues. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Christian Church in Stinnett with Jim West, pastor, officiating. Military graveside services will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Duncan was at home surrounded by all of his loved ones when he went to be with his heavenly Father. He was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Swearingen to James Berry Sr. and Tressie Savage Duncan. He graduated from Quanah High School in 1941. He married Bennie Lucille Bordofske in Altus, Okla., in 1941. Bennie passed away in 1967. Mr. Duncan married Delores Bagwell Yount on July 27, 1973, in Borger. Calvin worked at Cabot Carbon Black Plant as a superintendant in Skellytown for more than 30 years. He also worked for Fish, Tri-State Co. and Flint Engineering. We honor our PamPaw who was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Army 567th anti-aircraft battalion in Europe with General Patton's Third Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Organizations that Calvin enjoyed and was a member of: a lifetime member of Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966; 32nd Degree Scottish Rites; Valley of El Paso; Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 811; Borger VFW Post No. 1789; and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. Calvin and his wife, Delores, volunteered as campground hosts at Tolby Campground near Eagle Nest, N.M., for eight years. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Amarillo Veterans Hospital, BSA Hospice and the community of Stinnett.
