Meyer Clifton E. Meyer, 87, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Meyer was born Dec. 3, 1916, in Poth. He graduated from Poth High School and married Norene Robertson in Poth on Nov. 25, 1943. Clifton enlisted in the Army, serving in the medical department, and was stationed in Wichita Falls. He worked for Conwood, "American Snuff Co.," and retired 30 years later. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge and attended San Jacinto Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in January 1999; an infant daughter, Bernice; and hisparents. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Posey and husband, Gary, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Bobby L. Posey and wife, Maria, of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Karen Posey of Amarillo; and three great-grandchildren, Tori Liles, Christopher Posey and Joseph Posey. Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Higgins. She married James Everett on Jan. 5, 1963. She retired after 22 years as chief deputy district clerk for Potter County. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, Britni, Amanda, Bayley, Rebecca, Taylor, Lane, Dusty and Dylan. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Banks was born Feb. 17, 1934, to Edward Clark Cox and Sally Byrd Cox in Dalhart. She worked for the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was also part of the Sweet Adeline's for many years. She was married to William "Bill" Banks in 1972. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Cox and Kenneth Cox; and her parents. Mrs. Donica was born Dec. 13, 1917, in Robert Lee to Vincent and Ollie Blair Ditmore. She married Walter Lee Hensley, Raymond M. Coleman, and A.R. Donica, and all have preceded her in death. Virgia was known as "Aunt Virgia" at the Carriage Dress Shoppe, and was characterized by her beauty, her spine of steel, and an unerring sense of class. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses at Baptist Memorial Hospital Division Two and Baptist Memorial Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three sisters, Ora Gruff, Irma Cotton Caperton and Ellie Russell Jones; two brothers, Beal Ditmore and Henry Owen "Pete" Ditmore; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gaye Childers.
