Lutz Jr. Christian F. Lutz, 98, formerly of Amarillo died Friday, May 21, 2004, in Denver. Services will be Wednesday in the Little Sisters Chapel in Denver. Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver by Horan and McConaty Funeral Service. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Lutz was born to Christian F. Lutz and Elizabeth Welte Lutz on May 3, 1906, in Creed, Colo. He served in the Navy Construction Battalion as a seabee in the Pacific Theater of World War II. During the war he had a pen pal, Mary Reardon of Denver. After the war they were married and had one son, Joseph. Chris and Mary came to Amarillo and for many years, he was associated with Crowe-Gulde Cement Co. He had an engineering mind and was very creative with his hands. Many of the structures he designed are still standing. He always had a workshop and in his years of retirement, he was the willing fix-it man to those who knew him. His later years were spent as a resident of the Mullen Home (Little Sisters of the Poor home in Denver) where he was provided with a workshop until two years ago. His faith in God was very deep and he was always active in his Catholic church. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 21, 1995; his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Philippina Lutz Gulde of Amarillo in 1992, Rosine Lutz Stout of Louisville, Colo., in 1948, his twin, Elizabeth, Sister Melanie de St. Rose, of Denver in 1994, Father Lawrence Lutz, O.S.B., of Canon City, Colo., in 1981 and Carl Lutz of Amarillo in 1986. Survivors include his son, Joseph Lutz; a sister-in-law; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Glen Walton officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Kimball was born in Paris and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Nault of Traverse City, Mich.; three sons, Bryan Kimball of Mancelona, Mich., William Kimball of Pampa and John Kimball of Amarillo; two sisters, Fay Newton of Amarillo and Pat Pond of Plano; and a brother, Howard Bryan of Oklahoma City. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Rex Nicholl officiating. Mrs. Garcia was born in San Ignacio, N.M. She married James Garcia in 1945. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a homemaker and loved her furry friends, Little Foot and Zane. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959. Survivors include three daughters, Mary L. Reynozo and husband, Paul, of Plainview and Jo Anne Navarro and husband, Cruz, and Dolores Guillen and husband, Raymond, all of Amarillo; a son, James Ray Garcia of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Salas Sr. Survivors include six sons, Joe D. Salas, Joe L. Salas, Paul Patrick Salas, Manuel Salas, Ruben Salas and Raymond Salas, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Ruby Gernado of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Harve Hartley, 64, died Saturday, May 22, 2004. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Reydon Community Church with the Rev. Alberta Helton officiating. Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery by Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Mr. Hartley was born April 9, 1940, in Shattuck to Georgia Ima and Albert Hartley. He grew up in the Reydon Community where he attended school. Survivors include two daughters, Ladonna Plemons and Brenda Mabra, both of Reydon; a son, Laverne Hartley of Reydon; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three sisters, Albert Helton of Allison, Texas, Darlene Lindley of Memphis, Texas, and Dona Sossoman of Ozark, Ark.; and a brother, Charlie Hartley of Durham. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship in Shamrock, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Taylor was born Aug. 12, 1912, to George L. Green and Lucy McDowell Green in Wellington. She graduated from Draughan's Business College in Wichita Falls. She married John M. Taylor on Nov. 8, 1931, in Oklahoma. She was a member and former treasurer of the 1924 Study Club, former member of the Collingsworth General Hospital Auxiliary, member of the La Paissana Chapter of the D.A.R., Top of Texas District Board member and the Texas Cattle Women's Association. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and a son, Donnye Dee Taylor in 1955. Survivors include a son, John J. Taylor and daughter-in-law, Elwanda, of Shamrock; two granddaughters, Donnese Dorman and husband, Mark, of Frisco and Tanya Hobbs and husband, Mike, of Shamrock; four great-grandchildren, Christopher Hobbs, Johnathon Hobbs and Jeremy Hobbs, all of Shamrock, and Brittney Dorman of Frisco; three cousins, Billy Mac Sims and wife, Lennie Lou, of Wellington, John McDowell of Shamrock and Dorothy Dee Griffin and husband, Charles, of Uvalde. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Moore was born Nov. 8, 1951, in Shamrock and lived in Shamrock all of her life. She attended school in Shamrock, graduating with the class of 1970. She was very active in sports and received the Most Athletic Award her senior year. She loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Gilmore of Shamrock; three grandchildren, Tristen, Payten and Tansley Gilmore, all of Shamrock; her mother, Joyce Gragg of Shamrock; her father, Charles Gragg of Shamrock; two brothers, Ricky Don Gragg and Ronald Gragg, both of Shamrock; a sister, Dianne Reynolds of Shamrock; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles, including her aunt, Sue Doss of Shamrock and her uncle, Bill Thomas of Holliday. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Ken Pitzer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Alanreed Cemetery in Alanreed, Texas, by Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home. Mrs. Hilt had been a resident of Coldwater since 1973, moving from McLean, Texas. She was a school bus driver. Survivors include her husband, Dan; her mother, Mava Oneta Harkins of McLean; a daughter, Jennifer Monroe of Protection; a son, Jeremy Hilt of Brea, Calif.; nine sisters, Judy Ann Smith of Panioa, Colo., Janet May McCracken and Mickey Jackson, both of McLean, Irish JNell Ray and Sandra Gale McGlaun, both of Amarillo, Texas, Brenda Lee Dorrell of Sweetwater, Okla., and Patty Kay Fose, Brenda Fry and Vivian Boley, all of Coldwater; two brothers, James Ray Harkins of Amarillo and Michael Scott Harkins of Odessa, Texas; and a grandson.
