Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with Perry Hunsaker, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Arden was born in Adrian on Aug. 6, 1920, to Jessie and Ira Stephenson. They moved to Amarillo when Bo was a young child. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Bo and her husband, Wilson, and their family were charter members of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service and had been a member of the sanctuary choir. Bo was president of St. Anthony's Auxiliary in 1988. The Ardens were tour escorts for Trailways following their retirement from Arden's of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, on Feb. 23, 2004; and a sister, Babe Conway in March 1999. Survivors include her children, Stephen Arden and wife, Dorinda, of College Station and Elaine Cannon and Anthony Arden and wife, Beatrice, all of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Paige Jackson, Curry Arden and Ephraim Arden, all of Amarillo, Stephen Cannon and wife, Brigitta, of Austin, Chandler Arden and wife, Johnna, of Bryan and Celeste Riley and husband, Hayden, of Denton; her great-grandchildren, Candace and Cameron Jackson of Amarillo, Christopher and Jessica Arden of Bryan and Liv Arden of Austin; a brother, Donald Stephenson of Amarillo; a sister, Gail Notestine of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Johnny Conway of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the music fund of St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 W. Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79106; or a favorite charity. The family will be at 2700 W. 16th Ave., No. 103. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Scott was born and raised at Lelia Lake and attended Lelia Lake schools. She married Chester Scott on Aug. 10, 1941, in Clarendon. She had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 50 years. She worked for Southwestern Public Service for more than 29 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always put her family first. She also loved to garden and do handwork. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Glenda Grant of Amarillo and Connie Peek and husband, Garland, of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 1, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gerhard "Jerry" Jurkat Gerhard "Jerry" Jurkat, 76, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 30, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grand Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. David Driskell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Jurkat was born in Germany to David and Ada Jurkat. He moved to Amarillo in 1953 from Germany. He served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1957 and became a U.S. citizen in 1964. He married Dorothy Lamb in 1962 in Amarillo. He retired from Amarillo Independent School District in September 2000 after 15 years of service. Before that he had worked for Lee J. Milligan Company. Mr. Jurkat was a man of many talents: bricklayer, cement mason, carpenter and machinist. He played several musical instruments and loved to play the harmonica. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Caren Ogg and husband, Jimmy, of Amarillo; a son, David Alan Junell and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Raymond Bowlin, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Roush was born in Monterey, Tenn. She had been an Amarillo resident for the past 75 years. Mrs. Roush worked at the Hollywood department store for 30 years as a cashier. She loved sports. Mrs. Roush was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Roush in 2000; a son, Paul Douglas Roush in 1980; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, David Ellis of Plano; three grandchildren, Tony, Chris and Brent; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Amarillo Globe-News, June 1, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Jim "Tank" Forrester WELLINGTON - Jim "Tank" Forrester, 64, died Monday, May 31, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Bill Baker, minister of First Christian Church, and Dr. Kevin Everett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Forrester was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Wellington to Jesse L. Forrester and Hazel D. Brisbin Forrester. He married Judy Forbis on Nov. 24, 1960, in Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1958 and from Eastern New Mexico University in 1964. He taught school and coached football and other sports in Alamogordo, Tucumcari and Portales, N.M., and in Wellington from 1967 to 1973. He worked as a case worker for the Department of Human Services, farmed, ranched and held various contract jobs. He was currently serving his third term as Collingsworth County Judge. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and taught the TV Sunday school class for 20 years. He had served in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by a son, Al Forrester; and a grandson, Forrest Linville. Survivors include his wife, Judy; two daughter, Lyndy Ohayon of Amarillo and Brenda Linville of Wellington; a special daughter-in-law, Sandy Hodges of Amarillo; a brother, Benny Forrester of Wellington; and two grandsons, Sam Ohayon and Guy Linville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Benjamin Seller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Ms. Solomon was born Aug. 18, 1908, in Rankin, Okla. She had lived in Whitney for three years and was a former longtime Dumas resident. She had been a waitress and had also worked in the home and on the farm. Survivors include three sisters, Mildred Bosler and husband, Don, of Whitney, Louise Tindle of Novado, Calif., and Bettye Teague and husband, Bob, of Virginia Beach, Va.; her caregivers, Donna and Gorden R. Pickett of Whitney; eight nieces; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; and five great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The family suggests memorials be to American Heart Association, P.O. Myatt, 76, died Sunday, May 30, 2004. Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with Butch Shepherd officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Ms. Myatt was born March 13, 1928, in Iowa Park. She came to Pampa in 1931 from Vernon. She was a 1946 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Woman's University in Denton. She was a counselor and recruiter for Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an avid golfer and belonged to several ladies' golf associations. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Hattie Myatt; and a sister, June Kelp. Survivors include a brother, Ed Myatt and wife, Rosie, of Pampa; three sisters, Jenny Lind Ralls of Converse, Betty Bohlander and husband, Merle, of Pampa and Norma Healy and husband, Frank, of Universal City; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Chapman was born in Buffalo, Okla. She worked as a checker at Albertsons. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles Chapman of Amarillo; a daughter, LaJenda Chapman Edgington of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Amy, Naomi, Beth, Kayla, Chas and Arn; and four great-grandchildren, Zane, Zach, Savana and Sienna. The body will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Boxwell Brothers in Vega. Tyler was born Feb. 20, 2004, in Amarillo. Survivors include his mother of Amarillo; his father of Dallas; his grandparents, Randy and Patty Melton and Cliff and Becky Adams, all of Stratford; his great-grandparents, Judy Horn and Hank and Francie Scheffe, all of Amarillo, Jim and Joyce Melton of Afton, Okla., and Dean Adams of Umbarger.
