Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Ken Cole and the Rev. Dorman Holbub officiatng. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Stamford. Mrs. Gillespie was born June 26, 1909, the oldest of 10 children born to Bessie and Marvin Varner. She married Elbert York on April 17, 1925, and they had five children. He passed away on Feb. 4, 1956. On Aug. 10, 1965, she married Robert A. Gillespie. He passed away on Oct. 3, 1979. Mimmie as she was so lovingly called, loved God with all her heart and had served him from the age of 5. A devout Christian lady, she taught many Bible classes. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. Her sense of humor was so admired by her family. She made each family member feel uniquely special and was an ecourager to them as well as many others. The love and wisdom she imparted to her family will be treasured forever. Anyone that met her loved her. She had a servant's heart and always put others before herself. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at the Stamford Hospital for many years. She was always there when anyone needed help. She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; two sons, Pat Albert York and Joe Varner York; and two grandsons, Gregory Pat York and Jerry Lynn Holloway. Survivors include a son, Marvin York and wife, Nancy, of Fritch; two daughters, Katie Holloway and husband, Ray, and Lorene Purcell, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren. Mrs. Gartman was born April 30, 1944, in Amarillo to Aaron J. and Mary Ann (Shaw) Richardson. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She worked as an apartment supervisor and worked on the U.S. Draft Board. She was baptized in the Buchanan Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Richardson; a sister, Norma; and her parents. John attended Amarillo High School. He was a welder and a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leadell Lamberson. Survivors include two daughters, Dee Lisa Lamberson and Stacy Armandariz, both of Amarillo; two sons, John Jacob Maupin Lamberson and Joshua Leon Maupin, both of Amarillo; his father, J.L. Mr. Marquez was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. He moved to Amarillo in 1968 from Mexico. He married Dolores Escoto in 1972 at Clovis, N.M. He worked as a mechanic for Santa Fe Railroad for 21 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Israel Marquez; a brother, Jose Manuel Marquez; and his parents, Carlos and Irene Campos Marquez. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Valdez officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Duesterhaus graduated from Pampa High School in 1936. She married Henry C. Duesterhaus in Sayre, Okla., on July 17, 1938. Vivian was a master bridge player and loved to dance. For more than 65 years, she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Pampa, where she was involved in many activities. She later became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 24, 1974; and a brother, Kenneth Campbell. Survivors include a son, Dennis A. Duesterhaus of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Davlyn A. Duesterhaus of Amarillo and Diane Duesterhaus of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Dusty McGuire of Amarillo; and a brother, Don Gough of Dallas. Mrs. Sims married Charlie Sims on May 11, 1947. She was a member of Fairview Assembly of God Church for many years and was a current member of Caprock Christian Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Charlie; a son. C.M. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church in Dumas with the Rev. Jim Guest, pastor, officiating. Mr. Ball had lived in Colorado, Kansas and Texas. He had been a trucker all of his life. He loved motorcycles, fishing and practical jokes. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Ball, in 1998. Mr. McKee was born Feb. 13, 1963, in Woodward. He married Shelly Ann Helmuth on Nov. 14, 1990, in Lipscomb, Texas. Burial will be in Marella Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers at Stratford, Texas. Mr. Hutcheson worked for the Plainview School District of Cimarron County as a custodian for many years prior to his retirement. Over two decades, he touched the hearts of students and faculty members in his special way. Survivors include three sons, Allen Ray Hutcheson of Lancaster, Calif., and Richard Hutcheson and Scott Hutcheson, both of Springtown, Texas; a daughter, Donna Kay Poe of Chandler; three brothers, Jack D. Hutcheson and Cecil Hutcheson, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Hays Hutcheson of Leslie, Ark.; four sisters, Floradene Morris of Umbarger, Birdie Mae Sharp and Rosa Lee Parvin, both of Amarillo, and Lorene Hix of Dawn, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Dunny Goode, 74, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lance Clemmons officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Goode was born Oct. 24, 1929, in a tent dugout in Pampa, Texas. He spent 33 years of his life as a football coach in New Mexico and Texas. Survivors include a son, Bear of Navajo Dam; a brother, Kenneth Goode of Midland, Texas; and two grandchildren. Hightower GRAPEVINE - Dorman E. Hightower, 77, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements are by J.E. Foust and Sons Funeral Directors. Mr. Hightower was born July 16, 1926, in Mt. Vernon to Henry Tom and Grace Truman Hightower. He received the Victory Medal Asiatic Pacific in World War II and was honorably discharged from the Navy as a seaman first class. He received an associate degree from Amarillo College. He was a charter member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Amarillo, where he lived and raised his family for 50 years. Mr. Hightower was also a member of the Odd Fellows and Masons. He retired from Excel Helium Plant in Masterson after 35 years of service as a foreman. A master carpenter, Mr. Hightower built the home he lived in as well as many other homes and corporate structures in the Amarillo area. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Connie Lewis and Doris Harenburg; and two brothers, his twin brother, Norman, and Joe. Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Settle and husband, Larry; two sons, Gary Hightower and Greg Hightower and wife, Paula; his grandchildren, Monica Maliskas and husband, Andy, Heather Laynor and husband, Jeremy, Neal Hightower and Laura Hightower; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Aiden Maliskas; and a brother, Jimmy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Winford Wesley, Ronnie Wesley and Wayne Wesley; and two sisters, Orene Rogers and Lola Lange.
