Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Westminister Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeff Conway officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Rollen was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Whitewright. She married Walter Rollen on March 17, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M., and they moved to Amarillo that year. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority for 59 years, a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the Nile, Ladies Auxiliary for the Shrine Oriental Band and two RV Clubs. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Walter Robert Rollen Jr., of Kingwood and Joseph Alfred Rollen of Merritt Island, Fla.; a daughter, Janet Marilinda Rollen of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Rebecca Blackman of The Woodlands, Stephanie Ann Rollen of Austin and Jessica Lyn Rollen of Merritt Island; a great-granddaughter, Payton Elizabeth Blackman of The Woodlands; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include a sister, Glenda Tolley and husband, Bob, of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; his special friend, Sue Casey; and numerous friends. She was a dedicated child of God through her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved serving her Lord through her church, her family and her many friends. She was retired from the City of Amarillo water department. She served as Margaret Wills PTA president and as president of the Amarillo Sweet Adelines Chorus. She was active in Amarillo Christian Women's Connection. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Sadie Horner; a son, Roger Howe in 1995; two sisters, Lois Ausbun and Paul Crider; and a brother, Dale Horner. She was the daughter of Thomas and Cora Wallace. She married Clinton R. Meek on Dec. 24, 1942, in Gulfport, Miss., while he served in the Coast Guard. They had a son, Clinton R. Meek Jr. born Aug. 3, 1944, and died Aug. 4, 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Meek were a very loving couple to one another and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. They met in Wheeler and lived in North Dakota, Nashville, Washington, D.C., and Mississippi before moving to Carbondale in 1954. Mr. Meek taught at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and they lived in the same house their entire time there. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 26, 1989; and two brothers, J.M. and Ferrell. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetary by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Tipton was born May 17, 1943, in Tulia. She was a lifelong resident of Silverton. She married David Tipton on June 4, 1961, in Silverton. She was a bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Silverton. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 31, 1997. Survivors include a son, Dwain Tipton and wife, Alison, of Silverton; a daughter, Susie Younger and husband, Gary, of Abernathy; a brother, Dyrle Maples and wife, Virginia, of Canyon; a sister, Sheila Minyard and husband, Harrell, of Savoy; and four grandchildren, Chase Younger and Anna Younger, both of Abernathy, and Abbie Tipton and Matthew Tipton, both of Silverton. Mrs. Hiner was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Keyes, where she was a lifelong resident. She had been a resident of Morton County Care Center in Elkhart since 1999. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Loretta Arthaud of Keyes; three stepsons, Donald Hiner of Broken Arrow, Ronald Hiner of Canyon, Texas, and Norville Ray Hiner Jr. of Lawrence, Kan.; eight stepgrandchildren; and 16 stepgreat- grandchildren.
