Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Francis Convent Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with the the Most Rev. Bishop John Yanta and the Most Rev. L. T. Matthiesen, bishop emeritus, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Sister Graber was born in Fruthwilen, Thurgau, Switzerland, on Aug. 10, 1921. She worked in the missions in South America and Panama before coming to the United States in 1962. She was an excellent seamstress and for many years worked at the Montezuma seminary in Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Gallup, N.M. Her final assignment was in Amarillo. Survivors include a nephew, Leo Villager; other nieces and nephews; and her sisters from the Province of St. Francis Convent. Mr. Barclay was raised in Clovis, N.M. Bill retired as a master seargent after 22 years in the Air Force. He moved to Amarillo in 1991, where he worked for Amarillo Gear for 13 years. Bill was everybody's friend. Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two daughters, Erin Ketchie of Salisbury, N.C., and Sabra Henderson of San Antonio; six sons, Jeffery Barclay, Jeremy Smith, Spencer Barclay, Jason Smith, Joshua Smith and Brandon Barclay, all of Amarillo; his mother, Ima Jean Day of Amarillo; two brothers, Ray Barclay of Amarillo and David Barclay of Houston; two sisters, Christina Saxelby of Simi Valley, Calif., and Julie Cortez of Amarillo; and 10 grandchildren. Bichsel, 77, of Fritch, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, June 21, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bichsel married Betty Hisel in Clovis, N.M. He was a chief engineer for 38 years at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was an avid fisherman and was a racecar driver. He drove the car called the "Golden Tiger." He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 1990; a daughter, Barbara Hobbs in 2000; a sister, Georgina Bichsel in 1936; and his parents, Al and Martha Bichsel. Survivors include two sons, Greg Bichsel and wife, Christy, and Clay Bichsel and wife, Vickie, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Frances Goodin and Regene Connell, both of Amarillo; a brother, Maynard Bichsel of Washburn; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jeff Raines, associate pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rosewood Park Cemetery in Longview. Mrs. Shadbolt was born in Baca County, Colo. During World War II, she moved to Tulsa, Okla., to work as a riveter in an aircraft assembly plant. She owned and operated Maxine's Smart Shop in Borger and other clothing stores in Longview and San Marcos. She was a member of Rebecca's Order of the Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors of America and attended First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Dale Shadbolt; and two grandsons, David Holjes and David Harbert. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Harvest Life Center Assembly of God with Jerry Veazey, pastor, and H.L. Stevens, retired pastor of Dumas, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Chrostowski married Pearl Stone on Dec. 25, 1941, in Binghampton, N.Y. He moved to Dumas in 1952, where he resided for 42 years. He then moved to Amarillo in 1994. He was a veteran of World War II, serving under General Patton of the 6th Armored Division and receiving 5 battle stars. He retired from the Bureau of Mines, Helium Division. He was a scout master for the Boy Scouts in Masterson for several years. He was also a member of Hoot Harmonica Club of Texas, NARFE Association and a member of Harvest Life Center Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rebecca Maddox of Amarillo; three sons, Frank Jr. of Greenwood, Mo., and Allen and Ken, both of Canyon; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Baretley of Orange, N.J., and Wanda Kaminski of Kearny, N.J.; and a brother, Stanley of Harrison, N.J. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Kiker was born May 8, 1927, in Rule to Robert R. Fleming and Julia K. Logan Fleming. She married Melvin Kiker on July 4, 1947, in San Saba. Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Scott and Paula Kiker-Smith, both of Wellington, and Kathy Graves of Bovina; a son, Lon Kiker of Wellington; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of First United Methodist Church. She moved back to Muleshoe in 1957 after living in Watrous, N.M., for 15 years. Mrs. Gatlin was born April 16, 1959, in Quanah. She was a homemaker and had last worked for the Armstrong County Jail as the dispatcher for several years. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mr. Fuentes was born Aug. 22, 1909, in Zamora, Michuacan, Mexico. He was married Carolina Hernandez on April 24, 1931 in Dalhart, Texas. Survivors include two sons, Albert Fuentes of Tucson, Ariz., and Benjamin L. Fuentes of Guymon; three daughters, Elisa Padilla of Guymon, Hortensia Garcia of Ulysses, Kan., and Charmaine Long of Optima; 22 grandchildren; 42 great- grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Shelton was a stillman at Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of Panhandle Bluegrass Association. Amarillo Globe-News, June 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Russell Childers DALHART - Russell Childers, 84, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Clifford Dane, minister of senior adults at the church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Childers was born in Guymon, Okla., to Carrie and Ernest Childers on July 3, 1919. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1937. After graduation he enlisted in the Army/Air Force division, where he was stationed in Boca Raton, Fla. He was a World War II veteran and served for three years. Russell married his high school sweetheart, Helen Locke, on March 1, 1947, in Liberal, Kan., and they were happily married for 57 years. They resided in Guymon for six years, where he was a partner in Langston Buick. He later joined Pritchard and Abbott, a tax evaluation firm, for five years. In 1958, Russell and his family returned to Dalhart. He retired from the Dalhart Independent School District in 1980, where he had been the tax and business manager for many years. Russell was a member of First Baptist Church and had been since he was a young child. He had a full and joyful life and many good friends. His passions included golf, motorcycles and traveling the moustains in his motor home. But his true spice of life was a good story, and nobody could enjoy a good prank or story more than Russell. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and delighted in spending time with his friends. He will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Gilbert Childers, Mary Langston and Jennie Lou Ankers. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Terri Miller of Dalhart and Carolyn Sherrod and husband, Randy, of Canyon; four granddaughters, Whitney Stengel of Dalhart, Shana Miller of Amarillo, Darcy Miller of Omaha, Neb., and Tara Sherrod of Canyon; a very special niece, Carrie Lou Draper and husband, Jim, of Guymon; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Meals on Wheels program, where Russell was an active volunteer for many years. Floyd-Harp, 51, died Monday, June 21, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. The Rev. Floyd-Harp was born in Lubbock on July 3, 1952, to Elbert and Clara Harp. David was a graduate of Abernathy High School, received his BS degree from Wayland University and his MS degree from Iliff School of Theology. He pastored Methodist and Baptist churches in Colorado and far West Texas. He married Phyllis Floyd on Aug. 19, 1972. He was a member of the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. He was pastor of First United Methodist Church in Alpine. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Harp of Wichita Falls; a son, Michael Harp of Seattle; a brother, Dr. Daryl Harp of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Carol Norman of Plano; his parents, Elbert and Clara Harp of Abernathy and Marvin and Jerry Floyd of County Line.
