Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Padilla married Marlene McGowan on March 1, 1958, in Reno, Nev. He retired from Hesperia Unified School District in Hesperia, Calif., in 1999. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann DeLacruz of Hesperia; a son, Staff Sgt. Kenneth J. Padilla of Apple Valley, Calif.; two brothers, John Padilla and Bobby Padilla, both of Guymon, Okla.; three sisters, Emilie Weathermon of West Covina, Calif., Josie Ramirez of Dalhart and Mary Villarreal of El Paso; and six grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Amarillo South Body of Christ Church with Mel Brunson, church elder, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Neff was bon Feb. 8, 1934, in Elk City, Okla., and was a resident of Oklahoma most of her life before moving to Amarillo two years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the food service industry in the Oklahoma public schools. She was a member of Golden Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Helnsohn of Amarillo; two sons, Larry Neff of Portland, Ore., and Danny Neff of Newburg, Ore.; three brothers, Jimmy Colvin and Sam Colvin, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Delbert Lee Colvin of Elk City; and 11 grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Joe Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Miss Hager was born in Tucumcari, N.M., and had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 20 years. She was a 1991 graduate of Palo Duro High School and attended Amarillo College. She was a graduate of Texas Tech University before attending and graduating from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She was self-employed as a hot doc programer, where she did work for law firms all over the United States. She was a member of Amarillo Second Ward of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include her parents, Gary and Billie Hager of Amarillo; a sister, Shannon Hager of Amarillo; two brothers, Stoney Hager and wife, Song, and Joe Hager, all of Amarillo; a nephew, Micheal Hager of Amarillo; and two nieces, Halie Hager and Alexei Weatherman, both of Amarillo. Memorial services and celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Woodmen of the World Lodge with Cliff Brunson officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Del was born Dec. 20, 1958, in Tulia. He attended schools in Amarillo and Dalhart. In 1986, he married Sheila Ayers. He joined the Navy and completed training in the medical field. When he and Sheila returned to Amarillo, he worked at various health facilities while attending Amarillo College. He was awarded his licensed vocational degree in 1991. Recently, Del had begun his pursuit of a registered nurse degree. At the time of his death, he was employed at Georgia Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992. Survivors include his mother, Vergnel "Nell" Campbell of Amarillo; his father, Dr. Vergil L. Williams and wife, Velma, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; his paternal aunt, Darlene Youts of Waco; his maternal uncle and aunts, Conley and Gurtha Campbell of La Porte, La., and Joyce Campbell of Tyler; numerous cousins; and a host of special friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Wheeler and the Rev. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Marshall was born in Centralia, Mo., and graduated from Centralia High School. His family then moved to Roswell, N.M., where he enlisted in the Army in 1942. He served as a second lieutenant in the Army during World War II, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for outstanding service. He married Marvelle Buchanan in Happy in 1950. John retired from Southwestern Public Service after 45 years of service. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Elder and Jane Simpson. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Fry and husband, Gary, of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Kala Schmitto and husband, Danny, of Dallas; and a nephew, Jerry Woodall of Jackson, Tenn., and his children, John Woodall of Jackson and Jay Woodall of Memphis, Tenn. Chester O'Brien, associate pastor of First Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memphis Cemetery in Memphis. John was born in Memphis on June 13, 1922, to Luther Sherman Ivy and Flora Lee Cook Ivy. He married Betty Joiner Clark on March 30, 1979, in Amarillo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo, and he was a Baptist minister most of his working life. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Nancy Sires of Houston; a stepson, Weldon Frederick Ivy of Laredo; a sister, Mary Jo Baker of Seminole; and a brother, Jim Ivy of Seminole. She married Frank Dobbins on July 17, 1953, in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Miller and Bobby Miller. "Dick" Free, 94, died Friday, July 16, 2004, in Friona. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Reed, pastor, and the Rev. Jerry Barron, of Dallas, officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Free was born May 4, 1910, to George and Ola Lloyd Free in Childress County. He had lived in Bovina since 1992, moving from Dumas, where he had lived since 1942. He worked as a glazier at North Plains Glass Co. in Dumas. He married Pernie Blalock on Oct. 12, 1940, in Friona. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bovina. Survivors include two daughters, Cherry Ann Meads and husband, Pete, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mary Sue Key of Dumas; a son, Royce McInturff of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a sister, Thelma Barron of Bovina; two grandchildren, Thilisa Ann Heaslet and Jennifer Alvarez; and four great-grandchildren, Brett, Brady, Paige and Riley. Amarillo Globe-News, July 18, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earl Mack Barkley BORGER - Earl Mack Barkley, 74, died Friday, July 16, 2004. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Barkley was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Panhandle and had been a resident of Borger for most of his life. He owned Barkley Brothers Dirt Contracting and was a licensed electrician. Earl was a member of VFW Post 1789 and IBEW Local 602. He was a member of the Army, serving in the Korean War, where he was known as "Sergeant Tex." While serving, he received the Combat Infantry Badge, District Unit Citation and Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. "Dougle," as he was known to family and friends, had a love for western swing music and led his own band, the Western Swing Boys, for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.W. and Earlean Barkley and two brothers, Charles Barkley and Joe Barkley. Survivors include his wife Betty; a sister Louise Herdman and husband, Arnold, of Georgetown; a son, Clyde Barkley and wife, Carol Ann, of Inola, Okla.; six daughters, Cathy Day and husband, Terry, of Inola, Lorraine Mason and David Doty of Malvern, Ark., Diana Snow and husband, Jim, of San Diego, Calif., and Janet Wooten and husband, Doug, Patty Payne and husband, Randy, and Karen Weir and husband, Jim, all of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. March, 76, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenda Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. March was a resident of California before moving to Quitaque about a year and a half ago. Mr. March and his son owned and operated D & D Machine Shop for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, but recently had been attending First United Methodist Church in Quitaque. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny March in 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kendall of Flomot and Robin Kordecki of California; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She had worked as a realtor.
