Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in BSA Hospice with the Rev. Vicki Anderson officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Nedra's love for friends, family, children and animals was like no other. She will be loved and missed for eternity. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Abby Abbott. Survivors include two brothers, Johnny Abbott of Amarillo and Leonard Anderson of Nocona; a sister, Ruth White of Nocona; a nephew, L.J. Abbott; four nieces, Kara, Cinnamon, Jana and Traci; eight great-nieces; four great-nephews; and a godson, Jayden Sherrill. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice. "Norm" Andress, 61, of Amarillo died Friday, July 16, 2004. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Temple Baptist Church with Richard Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Andress was born in Hamlin on July 17, 1942. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock. He had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 30 years. He retired from Budweiser Distributing Co. as a district manager after 20 years of service. He was an avid golfer who collapsed and died on the golf course on July 16. He was a Baptist. He was a loving Dad and "Papaw" and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Noni, in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Kim Andress Carey of Bedford; two sons, Todd Andress of Lubbock and Tony Bryant of Fort Lupton, Colo.; a sister, Jamie Blackburn of Houston; a brother, Mickey Andress and wife, Orwinelle, of Lubbock; a special friend, Judy Avery of Amarillo; a niece, Melanie Fowler of Monument, Colo.; two nephews, Mark Andress of Washington, D.C., and Mike Andress of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Chas, Caroline and Darby; and a multitude of friends. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, 6605 I-40 West, Bldg. A-6, Amarillo, TX or to a favorite charity. Allen, 87, died Saturday, July 17, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. A.L. Sanders and the Rev. Rayburn Clark officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, north of Hereford. The Rev. Allen was born Jan. 13, 1917, near Waco. He married Rosie Mae Green in 1950 in Mexico. He was a retired Baptist minister. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Clarence Allen of Dallas; and a sister, Erma Doug of California. The family suggests memorials be to Kings Manor Methodist Retirement Home, 400 Ranger St., Hereford, TX 79045. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing and the Rev. Joe Strange officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Gray and the former Debra Easley were married on Dec. 31, 1978, in Crowell. He was a member of West Hill Community Church of Childress. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gordon Gray and Victor Gray, both of Vernon; a daughter, Belinda Giebel of Cornige, Pa.; two brothers, Jerry Wayne Gray of Annona and Oscar Lee Gray of Odell; and seven grandchildren. Torres DIMMITT - Jerry J. Torres, 59, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Amarillo. Prayers services will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Ivey Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph Ledesma, pastor of Church of God of the First Born in Canyon, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Torres married Mary Rodriquez on Nov. 10, 1963, in Leoti, Kan. He owned and operated several businesses in Dimmitt, including Torres Irrigation & Construction and El Taquito Cafe. Survivors include his wife; eight daughters, Hope Ledesma of Canyon, Sally Miller of Macon, Ga., Mary Jane Ledesma of Port Isabel, Naomi Blackburn of Amarillo, Ruth Casey of Bertrand, Mo., and Abigail Birdwell, Sara Torres and Michelle Barrera, all of Dimmitt; five sons, Jerry J. Torres Jr. and Jeremiah Torres, both of Dimmitt, Leo Torres of San Antonio and Ephraim Torres and James Torres, both of Bertrand; 28 grandchildren; his mother, Mary J. Torres of Leoti; four brothers, Thomas Torres of Dimmitt and Ernest Torres, Louis Torres and Roy Torres, all of Leoti; and five sisters, Rosa Llanes of El Campo, Sara Castillo of Snyder, Ella Hernandez and Lupe Rodriquez, both of Leoti, and Pauline Rivera of Garden City, Kan. Mr. Atchley was a lifelong resident of Childress. He loved to fish and raise game chickens. Survivors include his mother, Betty Atchley of Childress; two sons, Russell Hutson of Paducah and Matthew Atchley of San Antonio; three sisters, Susan Thomason, Patty Mock and Gwena Sharp, all of Childress; two brothers, Edwin Atchley and Timmy Atchley, both of Childress; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Marella United Methodist Church in rural Cimarron County with Harold James officiating. Burial will be in Marella Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Jim, as he was fondly known, was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Cimarron County to Calvin and Finis Taggart. He grew up, lived and farmed there until his retirement in 1997. Survivors include a sister, Mildred Cox of Boise City and two brothers, William Taggart of Stillwater and Robert Taggart of Baldwin Park, Calif. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or to Craig Methodist Retirement Community, Windflower Nursing Home, and may be left in care of Cimarron Mortuary, P.O.
