Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Quitaque with the Rev. Jeff Addison officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Madison Silva of Amarillo; two brothers, Brady Stark of Lubbock and Gage Garrett of Amarillo; her grandparents, Lyn Rowland of Amarillo and Donna and Roland Hamilton and Scotty and Sandra Stark, all of Quitaque; and her great-grandparents, Iris Busby of Amarillo, Mary Stark of Nacogdoches and Lavonia Mullin of Turkey. Amarillo Globe-News, July 22, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pearl Lee Ramsey Pearl Lee Ramsey, 90, formerly of Amarillo, of Honey Grove, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in Paris. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with James Baker, elder, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Ramsey was born Sept. 9, 1913, in Lea County, N.M., the eighth child of Millie Jane Puckett Williams and Camerson Haughton Williams. At an early age, the family moved back to West Texas, near Lubbock, where she attended Center School. She married David Melvin Ramsey on July 13, 1930. Their residence was in Amarillo for many years, and after the death of her husband in 1985, she moved to Honey Grove. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of Paris Primitive Baptist Church, a homemaker and an accomplished quiltmaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; two sisters; two daughters, Patricia Janice Ramsey and Joyce (Mrs. Robert) Johnson; and a son, Buck Ramsey. Survivors include her children, Wanda Pirtle of Austin, Charles Ramsey and wife, Jean, of Austin and San Francisco, Ellen Watson and husband, Garfield, and Sylvia Askew and husband, Mark, all of Honey Grove, and Bette Ramsey and Robert W. Johnson, both of Amarillo; a sister, Elsie McDaniel and husband, Bud, of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great- great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons. Sandoval Pedro "Pete" D. Sandoval, 57, of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 20, 2004. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Laurence Cathedral with the Rev. Gabriel Cardiel officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. (MDT) Saturday in South Park Cemetery in Roswell, N.M., with the Rev. Juan Montoya of St. John's Catholic Church in Roswell officiating. Mr. Sandoval was born to Paul and Cleo Sandoval in Trementina, N.M. His family moved to Tucumcari, N.M., where he met his wife, Vikki Garcia, and married in 1971. He later joined the New Mexico Army National Guard and was stationed at McGregor Range. He was moved in the military and settled in Roswell in 1988. He retired in June 2000 after 22 years of service. He also worked for the State of New Mexico Highway Department for many years and retired in 2001 after becoming ill. Mr. Sandoval was the 50th live-donor liver transplant recipient at the University of Colorado at Denver on April 24, 2001. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Sandoval in 1990. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Georganna Ecker and husband, Christopher, and Samantha Jo Sandoval, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Suzanna Sandoval and Josie Saucedo, both of Amarillo, and Daisy Jimenez and husband, Richard, of Roswell; a brother, Leroy Sandoval of Dalhart; three grandchildren, David Sandoval, Alicia Ecker and Ethan Paul Ecker, all of Amarillo; and his liver donor, Jesus Ceballos of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Eloy Cardenas in 2004; and two daughters, Kay Martinez in 2000 and Rose Ornelas in 2001. Osage St. Mr. Curlee enlisted in the Army in 1945 and served in the 1st infantry in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign in occupied Japan. He earned the Victory Ribbon, two overseas service bars, and a medal for good conduct. He worked as an interior lighting designer in Houston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Betty McCroskey Curlee. Survivors include two sisters, Verndell Pride of Shamrock and Almeda Jenkins of Kingston, Okla.; his cousin and caretaker, Lois J. Calvert, 85, died Saturday, July 17, 2004. Arrangements are by Berardinelli Family Funeral Service. Mr. Calvert was born June 22, 1919, in Amarillo, the son of Nora Bell and Harry Calvert. He married Billie Calvert on Sept. 9, 1939. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory and was an endowment member of the National Rifle Association. In his youth, George was a leader of a country-western dance band in which he played the violin. He also enjoyed playing the organ and piano, reading and furniture making. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Clella Anderson and husband, Dave, of Anchorage, Alaska, and LaVelle Martin and husband, Brad, of Santa Fe; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
