Vigil was at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 3 p.m. today in the church with Bishop Emeritus Leroy T. Matthiesen and Monsignor Joseph Tash celebrants. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Herrick was born April 26, 1928, in Denver. While attending Colorado State University majoring in animal science, he volunteered to serve his country during the Korean War and joined the Army in 1948. Tom became a cattleman for the Denver Livestock Co. Four years later, he joined his father, Ralph Herrick with the John Clay Commission Co. Then in 1959, he moved to Amarillo with his wife and four small children to partner in the Texas Order Buying Co. Over the next decade, Tom became general manager and helped build one of the largest cattle feedyards in Texas, the Randall County Feedyard. In 1967, Tom was elected president of Panhandle Livestock Association and elected to the executive committee of Texas Cattle Feeders Association. In 1969, Tom was elected president of MesaAgro Inc. In 1972 to 1973, he became president of TCFA. He had also been appointed as a member of the executive committee of the National Cattleman's Association in Denver. Outside of the cattle industry, Tom served as director of the Federal Reserve Bank, Dallas District, from 1972 to 1978. Tom served as president of Amarillo Country Club from 1988 to 1989. He also served on the board of directors for Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. A successful cattleman and investor, Tom was an outdoorsman and loved to fly fish and hunt. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Over the past few years he was a volunteer driver of Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife, Ann Elliott; a son, Thomas William Herrick Jr. of San Antonio; three daughters, Cheryl Ann Herrick of Dallas, Kimberly Ann Knotter of Phoenix and Mary Louise Ryan of Fort Worth; two sons-in-law, David Knotter and John Ryan; a daughter-in-law, Emily Herrick; and seven grandchildren, Grey and Adrian Clair Knotter, Ben, Walker and Henry Ryan, Thomas William Herrick III and Hailey Herrick. Mr. Weston was born to Frank and Elsie Weston on Feb. 12, 1911, in Anavale, Neb. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Mrs. Lamb was born in California and raised in Dalhart. She was a resident of Amarillo for the last 16 years. She married David Lamb in 1987 in Amarillo. Mrs. Robinson was a member of First Christian Church for more than 40 years. She was a volunteer at First Christian Church, a member of Quilting Club and CWF. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Robinson in 1988; a daughter, Lorita Stanley; and a granddaughter, Sherry Stanley. Mr. Payne was born June 24, 1959, in Wichita Falls. A lively and self-reliant man who always strived for knowledge, Randy was a man of many talents in life. He worked as an elevator technician for Otis Elevator Co., was a registered nurse and founder/co-owner of Computer Works, a prominent local computer service. He not only enjoyed music but was also an accomplished musician. As an avid car enthusiast, he rebuilt and showed his prized vintage vehicles. Randy married Patty Mason on June 17, 1990, where he assumed the role of a family man to Patty and stepson, Mic. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Payne. Mr. Bain was born March 30, 1927, in Claude. He was a Moore County resident since 1930. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sunray, where he was a member of the Methodist Board. He was a veteran of World War II. He was engaged in farming and ranching in Moore County. He was voted one of America's outstanding farmers in 1971. He was a member and director of Farm Bureau, a member of Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Quarter Horse Association, the school board, Moore County Sheriff's Posse, Moore County Fair Board, 4-H director, past ASCS committeman, a member of Sunray Community Chest, Quarterback Club, Sunray Band Booster Club and Lions Club. He was an Omar Hermsmeyer Award Recipient, was on the Moore County Hospital board of directors and past president of Panhandle County Judges and Commissioners Association. He was a Moore County commissioner from 1974 to 1994. He married Thrya Blanscet on Sept. 20, 1947, in Sunray. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 29, 2004. Survivors include three sons, Jim Bain of Fort Worth, Dewey Bain and wife, Susie, of Sunray and Gary Bain and wife, Libby, of Stratford; a daughter, Sherri Scroggs and husband, Dale, of Stinnett; two brothers, Gene Bain of Amarillo and Joe Bain of Dumas; eight grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1958 and received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Denver in 1964. He was a coach, referee and player in the Irving Soccer Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil E. Leavelle and Roma Thornton Leavelle.
