Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Gonzales received her GED from James Bowie Junior High School in March 1984. She was employed by Travel Days Inn off and on for 15 years. She was a member of Mother of Multiples and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include five daughters, Patti Ragsdale and husband, Ray, of Mineral Wells, Cindy Tena and husband, Manuel, of Ensenada, Mexico, Becky Browning of Borger, Tina Gonzales and husband, Ernest, of Amarillo and Virgie Granger and husband, Rick, of Ottobrunn, Germany; three sons, Johnny Foote and Joe Gonzales and wife, Teresa, all of Amarillo, and Vincente Gonzales of Clovis, N.M.; a sister, Helen Vanover and husband, Carmen, of Amarillo; two brothers, Blackie Foster and wife, Murieldean of Amarillo and Lewis Foster and wife, Eva, of California; 27 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Luetkahans married Willis Henry Luetkahans in Atoka, Okla. They renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary. Her father was a Pentacostal circuit preacher. She loved to talk about the Lord. She was a hard worker, outspoken and loved garage sales. She did not drive. However she did drive a Model T. She had one blue eye and one brown eye. She and her husband were both known for doing business on a handshake. Neither she nor her husband ever retired, he was still working the day he died. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Willis Lavone Luetkahans and Jerry Donald Luetkahans; and a daughter, Lovera Rickman. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Hefner and Evelyn Richie, both of Amarillo, and Mary Rose Buchanan of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sons, Don Luetkahans and Ronnie Luetkahans, both of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Reynolds was born June 29, 1920, in Little Rock, Ark. She graduated from Mt. St. Mary's of Little Rock and attended the University of Arkansas. She and Chief Justice Charles L. Reynolds Sr. were married on Aug. 1, 1942, in Washington, D.C., in the Bethlehem Chapel of the National Cathedral. She worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, served on the Railroad Retirement Board and was a member of the Law and Art Alliances. While she and Judge Reynolds lived in Childress from 1953 to 1971, she was president of the library board and attended First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Charles Reynolds and Parman Reynolds, both of Amarillo; a grandson, Spencer Parman Reynolds; a granddaughter, Kristen Marie Reynolds; and a special friend, Clifford Worthen. Bell St. Mr. Hoffman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 20, 1940. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 6, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill W. Waters PAMPA - Bill W. Waters, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ with Arvia Willingham, elder of the church, and Dr. Dan Powell officiating. Private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael- Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Waters entered this life on Nov. 23, 1924, and entered the Lord's rest on Aug. 4, 2004. Billy Wyatt Waters was born to Harvey Wyatt Waters and Edith Perkins Waters in Idalou. He graduated from Pampa High School in May 1943 and was inducted into the Army on June 14, 1943. He studied at New York University as a part of his engineering training in the Army. He was transferred to the 171st Combat Engineer Battalion and served his country in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, and Germany in 1944 and 1945. For distinguishing himself by meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy in Germany on Feb. 23, 1945, Cpl. Waters was awarded the Bronze Star Medal Citation. During an assault river crossing, Cpl. Waters directed his squad in conveying vitally needed footbridge equipment to the bridge site in connection with the assault crossing of the Roer River. Although under intense enemy mortar and artillery fire, he led his men to the successful completion of their mission. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars for the Campaigns of Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged from active duty with the rank of sergeant on Jan. 13, 1946. He married Elaine Carlson on July 20, 1946, in Pampa. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1979. He later married Sandra Enloe, who survives him, on April 3, 1982. He received a doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin in August 1949. He was elected president of his freshman law class and vice- president of his senior class. Mr. Waters had practiced law in Pampa since 1949, retiring just prior to his death. He was elected Gray County Attorney in 1950, serving four years in that office, and was elected District Attorney of the 31st Judicial District in 1954. He served 14 years as District Attorney. In 1965, he was president of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association. Mr. Waters left public office and began the full time practice of his profession in 1969. In 1978, he was elected as district director of the State Bar of Texas, representing licensed attorneys within the 40 Texas Panhandle counties. He was later a member of the nine person State Bar of Texas Professional Ethics Committee appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas. Mr. Waters was a member of the 18 person committee which drafted the Texas Model Rules of Professional Conduct for Attorneys. He was life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Mr. Waters had been actively engaged in farming and ranching in Gray and Wheeler counties. In 1989, Mr. Waters was named Pampa Citizen of the Year following his service to the community as chairman of the Prison Steering Committee, which successfully procured a state prison facility. In 1992, with Mr. Waters again chairing the Steering Committee, Pampa obtained a prison expansion as an intermediate sanction facility. Though neither a Rotarian nor a Mason, he was named a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, and was awarded the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas Community Builder Award. In October 2000, Mr. Waters was inducted into the Pampa Harvester Hall of Fame. This month, he will be inducted posthumously into the Panhandle Veterans Hall of Honor. Mr. Waters had been a trustee of the M. K. Brown Foundation since 1964, and had served as its chairman since 1974. He was also a trustee and secretary of the Gray-Pampa Foundation and served on the boards of Fairview Cemetery Association, Pampa Industrial Foundation, Pampa Youth and Community Center, and Pampa Economic Development Corporation. He also represented Pampa by appointment of the Pampa City Commission as one of the directors of Canadian River Municipal Water Authority. Mr. Waters was a charter member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ where he served as a Bible class teacher and deacon. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; a brother, James Leon Waters; and a sister, Norma Wynell Waters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leland Wyatt Waters of Pampa and Steven David Waters of Fort Worth; a stepdaughter, Julianna Enloe Gilbert of Lafayette, La.; five grandsons, Colbert Wyatt Waters of Amarillo, David Daniel Waters of Forgan, Okla., Samuel Jennings Waters and George Armstrong Waters, both of Fort Worth, and Braden Christopher Gilbert of Lafayette; five granddaughters, Kellen Elaine Brown of Lewisville, Emily Diane Waters of Azle, Grace Adele Waters of Fort Worth, and Katharine Alexis Gilbert and Madeline Grace Gilbert, both of Lafayette; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Cook was born Sept. 26, 1942, in Amarillo. He had been a Sunray resident since 1973. He was a plant operator for Continental Carbon Co. since 1973. He married Debbie Burkhalter on Aug. 13, 1971, in Sunray. He was a member of Sunray Baptist Church. He was a volunteer with the Sunray Fire Department and Ambulance Service for 15 years. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Jahnel was born June 16, 1921, in Hemphill County at Jahnel Home Place in the Gem community, to Henry and Lottie Mathis Jahnel. Carl attended school at Prairie Dell and Canadian. He graduated from Texas A&M University. Mr. Jahnel married Neta Malcom on Dec. 19, 1946, in Canadian. He proudly served during World War II in the Army as a captain in the 22nd infantry, 4th division. He landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day. Carl was self-employed as a farmer and rancher in the Gem City community. He was a member and served as a deacon in Gem Baptist Church until it closed in 2001. He then joined First Baptist Church of Canadian. Mr. Jahnel served on the Blue Ridge School Board, Canadian Grain Co-op Board, Abraham Memorial Board, Hemphill Hospital Board and Federal Land Bank Board. Carl was named the 1976 Man of the Year for Canadian. She married Russell Davidson on Oct. 10, 1931, and had three daughters. She and Russell made their home in Amarillo for more than 40 years, where they were active members of Polk Street United Methodist Church and avid golfers at Amarillo Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Jere Lynn Mitchell. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Whitehurst of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jeanie Collier of Paradise Valley; 10 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 5, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adrian D. Sebastian * AUSTIN - Adrian D. Sebastian, 77, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 25, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery Annex in Austin. Arrangements are by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Mr. Sebastian was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Thrall. He attended Miles Elementary, and graduated class valedictorian from Thrall High School in 1943. A talented athlete and self-taught golfer, as well as a musician, Adrian played on various sports teams and was in the Longhorn Marching Band at the University of Texas, where he received his BBA in 1950. While working his way through school at the University Co-op in Austin, Adrian met his future wife Becky Pils. They were married on Jan. 1, 1948, eventually raising three sons in a union which would last 56 years, until the time of their deaths in 2004. Adrian's college studies were interrupted from 1945 to 1947 while serving in the Maritime Service. He was admitted to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPA on Aug. 1, 1953. An avid outdoorsman, Adrian joined the private business sector with Southwestern Public Service Co. in 1955, where he eventually served as vice president, secretary and comptroller until 1979. He also held executive positions with NAPA Auto Parts of Dallas and Primary Fuels Inc. of Houston, until opening his private practice in 1989. Adrian retired from private practice in 2001. The family gratefully acknowledges the expert care of Adrian's physician, Dr. Wilner P. Jeudy of Houston. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents, Henry J. and Carrie Lee Hill Sebastian; and his siblings, Henry and Nathan P. and Daisy Ruth Anders. Survivors include three sons, Steve Sebastian, Brian Sebastian and Scott Sebastian and wife, Devon; five grandchildren Michelle, Lindsey, Michael, Catie and Laurel; his brother-in-law, Joe Pils and wife, Carolyn; a sister-in- law, Martha Ott Pils; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
