Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Mausoleum with Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Witcher was a member of the Junior League of Amarillo and the Potter Randall Medical Auxiliary Society. She married Jones E. Witcher on June 24, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert L. Freeman and Leora Peek Freeman and a great-grandson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Virginia Witcher Rawlins of Amarillo; two sons, Jones L. Witcher and wife, Carol, of Amarillo and Alan Freeman Witcher of Glazier; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Simpson, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Kevin Naillieux, Jim Price and Matt Hill officiating. Mr. Simpson was a zookeeper and a rancher. He loved animals. He had lots of friends whom he loved to visit. He was always happy to share a smile, a story or a song with anyone. Survivors include a daughter, Della Baker of Branson, Mo.; two sons, Bill Simpson and James Simpson, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Mr. Ynojosa was born Aug. 19, 1942, in San Angelo. He and his wife, Lupe, were married for 42 years and had established a home in Amarillo. After 18 years of service, he retired from Asarco. Pete was a very compassionate man who was loved and admired by his family and friends and is now at home with the Lord. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Pete Ynojosa, Robert Ynojosa and Richard Ynojosa, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Diane Ynojosa and Kristina Tijerina, both of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Ynojosa; two sisters, Margie Camarillo and Angie Ynojosa, both of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Devin was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Swisher County. He farmed and ranched in Swisher County all his life, and he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Pat; a daughter, Janie Notley of Tulia; two sons, Frank Devin of Finney and Lannie Devin of Idalou; his twin brother, Delbert Devin of Tulia; two sisters, Lena Allen of Canyon and Catherine Sprawls of Tulia; five grandchildren, Crystal Devin, James Devin, Tara Devin, Lacey Watkins and Carley West; a great-grandchild, Ashley Watkins; and several nieces and nephews and friends. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Gunter was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Claude. He was a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Co. and Panhandle Valve Shop. Survivors include his wife, Louise; three sons, Johnny Gunter and Ronnie Gunter, both of Fritch, and Jerry Gunter of Garland; a sister, Judy Peabody of Borger; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Mrs. Cone was a member and nursery keeper at First Christian Church of Perryton. She worked with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie E., in 1990 and her parents, Allen and Lillie Moore. Survivors include two sisters, Ann Proctor of Magnolia, Ark., and Iva Jones of Atoka, Okla.; a brother, John Wayne Moore of Atoka; two nephews, Cecil Proctor of Perryton and Glenn Proctor of Magnolia; and three nieces, Evelyn Frances and Frances Greisham, both of Oklahoma City, and Carolyn Marrison of Tyler. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cariker was born Dec. 23, 1912, in LeFlore County, Okla. She was a Moore County resident since 1943. She married T.A. "Pappy" Cariker Sr. on Dec. 27, 1927, in Spiro, Okla. She retired in 1982 from Dumas ISD after 22 years of employment as manager of the cafeteria. She was a member of Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ in Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; two sons, T.A. Cariker Jr. in 1995 and Butch Cariker in 1996; three grandsons, Dale Wayne McKibbin in 2002, Robin Glenn Cariker in 1998 and Clyde "Little Boy" Ray Coleman Jr. in 1975; and a granddaughter, Connie Sue Rivera in 2002. Survivors include four daughters, Dot Cariker of Montesano, Wash., Tink Cariker of Sacramento, Calif., and Jane Cariker Parker and Gail Melban, both of Dumas; five sons, Irby Cariker of Salida, Calif., Doyle Cariker of Marysville, Wash., A.J. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Leslie Jones officiating. Mr. Wilson retired from West Star as a production superintendent after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elda; two sons, George Wayne Hawkins of Gilbert, Ariz., and Warren Hamill Wilson Jr. of Austin; a sister, Ella Mae Clark of Canyon; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Crespin served in the Army Air Corps in England in World War II. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, Al Crespin of Amarillo; a daughter, Amy Martinez of Dalhart; a sister, Tina Street of Dalhart; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Shapley and her late husband, Harvey, owned and operated the Savaii Motel in Guymon, Okla., for 11 years. She was a member of Friona United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lewellen of Friona; a sister, Helga Frier of Vivorg, S.D.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Littlefield died Sunday in Parkview Nursing Home, where she had been making her home the last few years. She was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Canyon. She married John W. Littlefield in Canyon on July 27, 1933. She spent many of her younger years in the Wayside and Happy communities. She lived in the Sudan community from 1946 to 1953. She moved to the Lazbuddie community in 1953 and then to Muleshoe in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Muleshoe. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 18, 2003, and a son, Donald Dean Littlefield, on Jan. 8, 1971. Survivors include a son, Carroll Littlefield of Rodeo, N.M.; two daughters, Shirley Steinbock and Betty Smith, both of Lazbuddie; two brothers, Lloyd James of Mesa, Ariz., and Wyle James of Canyon; seven grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Services will be at 9 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Lockney Memorial Cemetery in Lockney. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Fortenberry was born Feb. 6, 1934, in the Cedar Hill Community in Floyd County. He farmed and raised cattle in both Hale and Floyd counties. Mrs. Fortenberry was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Lubbock. She was past chair of the finance committee of First United Methodist Church of Abernathy. Survivors include three sons, Sam Fortenberry of Lockney, John Fortenberry of San Angelo and David Abell of Plano; two daughters, Marcia Phillips of Lockney and Angela McDowell of Dripping Springs; 10 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Survivors of Mr. Fortenberry also include three sisters, Pauline VanHoose of Kingsland, Louise Gilliams of Carlsbad, N.M., and Marie Strickland of Amarillo. Survivors of Mrs. Fortenberry also include her parents, James Hiram and Jerrine Parks of Lubbock, and a brother, James Doyle Parks of Idalou.
