Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Dr. James Garten, pastor of Pavillard Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Ms. McDonald was born and raised in Amarillo. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1974. She was a member of Bykota Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Johnny McDonald of Amarillo; her father, Willie M. Eaton of Amarillo; a sister, Sherry Burge of Amarillo; and a nephew, Willie Burge of Amarillo. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 3, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clyde Yoes Clyde Yoes, 93, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Alanreed Cemetery in Alanreed with Jay O'Keefe officiating. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Yoes was born and raised in Hollis, Okla. He was a graduate of Hollis High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. He married Mattie Brown in 1940 in Pampa. He lived briefly in Amarillo, Pampa and Alanreed prior to moving to California. He remained in California for five years before returing to Amarillo. He spent the next 57 years living in Amarillo. He was the founder and owner of Clyde Yoes Insurance Agency. He was a lifelong Baptist. He taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, served as chairman of the board of deacons and was a trustee of First Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. Mr. Yoes was an active member of Amarillo Gideon Camp for more than 50 years. He was a longtime member and served as chaplain of Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 1239 for 13 years, and was awarded the Golden Trowel Award. Mr. Yoes loved God and he loved his family. To friends and family who have shown the family the many blessings of love, thank you. May you be in the beauty and knowledge of God's love. Mrs. Corbin was very active in the community. Among her accomplishments: She served as president of Wolflin Elementary School PTA, was a life member of YWCA, a life member of Women's Society of Christian Service, a member of American Business Club's Wives Association, a member of Amarillo Board of Realtors, and a member of CV Chapter of PEO Sisterhood. She was also a member of Suzanne Wesley Sunday School class at Polk Street United Methodist Church, where she had been a member for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Walter Corbin on Nov. 30, 1991; and a sister, Constance B. Brooks. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Huckabay was born Feb. 17, 1916, in Gomez to William Walter and Mary Elizabeth Hodges Spears. She moved with her family early in life to a farm near Matador, where she attended school. She loved the Texas Panhandle and spent most of her adult life in Amarillo. She married Louis Conrad Huckabay on Aug. 14, 1937. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church and Loyalty Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969; her parents; a brother; three sisters; and a grandson, Ted Clay. Survivors include five children, Virginia Fuller of Richmond, Va., Don C. Huckabay and wife, Kathryn, of Pearland, and Tony Huckabay and wife, Jo Jean, Jerry Huckabay and wife, Lanell, and Wade Huckabay and wife, Terry, all of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Lyles was born in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School in 1999, where he lettered in tennis. He was also involved in forensics and academic decathlon. Mr. Lyles was a full-time college student at WTAMU and was majoring in computer systems. He was a member of Alpha Chi. He married Kristin Dailey in Las Vegas on May 14, 2003. In addition to college, he worked full- time at Hastings as a computer security administrator. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Prichard was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Canyon to Emmett and Cleo Prichard. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1941 and married Inez Abbott in Canyon. He was a veteran of the Navy. He was a carpenter and maintenance supervisor at Boys Ranch for 25 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Kiwanis for 15 years. He was also a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Journeyman Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Hollabaugh in 1953. Mr. Whitefield was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Memphis. He had lived in the area since 1961. He married Sharon Scroggs on Oct. 24, 1980, in Spearman. He was a truck driver for Phillips Petroleum and a member of First Baptist Church of Spearman. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and Marine Reserves. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey "Red" Whitefield. Mr. Packard was born Dec. 27, 1946, in Amarillo. He was a 1965 graduate of Springlake High School and earned an associate's degree in drafting from South Plains College in Levelland. He moved to Kress from Amarillo in 1981. Tom loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He served on the Kress City Council and was a building contractor. He was very proud of his kids and his grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Springlake. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lee Packard, in 1972. Mrs. Lloyd had been a resident of Hale Center since 1999, moving from Bovina where she had lived for many years. She was a homemaker. She married Travis Lloyd on April 21, 1934, in Carey. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 30, 1978. Survivors include a son, Don Lloyd of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Julia Ann Lloyd and Patsy Webb, both of Hale Center; six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Curtis ABILENE - Gwynneth R. Curtis, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Highland Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Mr. Curtis was born to Jauvada Gertrude (Morrison) and William Richard Curtis on March 5, 1939, in Amarillo. He received a master of divinity from Abilene Christian University. He married Joyce Browning on Aug. 25, 1962, in Sunset Church of Christ in Dallas. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, "Opa" and friend. Gwynneth devoted his life to ministering to others and spreading the good news of Christ throughout the world. For the past two years, he had served as a missions liaison with Eastern European Mission and Bible Foundation. Since 1976, he had been a resident of Abilene. His hobbies included golf and music. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ, where he served as an elder from 1995 to 2003. Gwynneth had a passion for Christ and a great love for people, his family and especially his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Curtis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kellie Miller of San Antonio and Trellis Phillips of Madison, Wis.; two sons, Cory Curtis of Lubbock and Ryan Curtis of McKinney; his mother of Dallas; a sister, Margaret Majors of Garland; and lots of grandchildren who dearly loved their "Opa."
