Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. David Driskill of Grand Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Short was born in Frenchburg, Ky., on Sept. 20, 1931. She married Harold Short in January 1948. She had lived in Amarillo since 1950 and worked as a maid, a packer for Bekins and as a nanny until 2000, when she retired to care for her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cornelsen and Ella Holder, both of Amarillo; three sons, Dan Short, Sam Short and Bill Short, all of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Don Stone officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Torres was born Feb. 5, 1946, to Fabian and Angelita (Hinojosa) Torres Sr. in Robstown. He attended school in Robstown. He worked for First Baptist Church in Clarendon for many years. He was a Baptist. He married Aurora Mendoza on Oct. 12, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Salvador Cavazos. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Floydada; four sons, Fabian Torres III and wife, Tonda, of Groom, Joe Angel Torres and wife, Rosie, of Roma, and Richard Torres and wife, Angela, and Daniel Ray Torres, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Rachel Gregory and husband, Tom, of Amarillo; three brothers, Robert Cavazos, Lupe Torres and Joe Angel Torres, all of Floydada; three sisters, Mary Ann Espinoza of Robstown, Angie Gonzales of Levelland and Ofilia Salazar of Hereford; and five grandchildren, Jessie Ray Travis and Quinton Allen Travis, both of Amarillo, Eric Joseph Torres and Jacob David Torres, both of Groom, and Mida Joy "Precious" Torres of Roma. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John Spangler officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in Rochester Cemetery in Rochester. Mr. McGhee was born May 13, 1929, in Jud. He married Novalee Kenny on Dec. 6, 1946, in Haskell. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Linda Straw of Abilene, Brenda Robbins of Bridgeport, Susan Robertson of Quanah, Jana Crumpton of Munday and Melonie Melton of North Little Rock, Ark.; four sons, David McGhee of Galveston, Darryl McGhee and Mark McGhee, both of Rochester, and Glenn McGhee of Vernon; two sisters, Letha Isabel and Mary Westerman, both of Haskell; a brother, Alfred McGhee of Baytown; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great- grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Street Church of Christ with Art Lynch of the church and William Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hansen was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Lewis County, W.Va. She spent most of her life in New Jersey, moving to Dumas in 1998. Survivors include a son, Art Lynch and wife, Judy, of Dumas; a sister, Dottie Wells of West Virginia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Derrel Evins officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham was born in Walsh, Colo., on Oct. 3, 1937. She had lived in the area since 1959, moving from Amarillo. She married Robert Graham on June 3, 1961, in Amarillo. She taught for two years in Amarillo and taught second grade in Spearman for 30 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, serving as a member of the finance committee and several other positions on the church's administrative council. She was a former member of Spearman Classroom Teachers Association, Hansford Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the Spearman School District improvement committee. She was a member of Hansford Hospital Auxiliary. She graduated from OPSU with a degree in elementary education. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Michelle Tarver and husband, David, of Memphis and Shanda Graham of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Danica Mahanay of Amarillo; and a grandson, Dace Mahanay of San Angelo. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Friona Cemetery with the Rev. Alvin Petty, minister of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Knight had been a Friona resident since 1950, moving from Clovis, N.M. She was a homemaker. She married Clarence Knight on Jan. 29, 1929, in Clovis. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 25, 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Myers of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
