Majors Captola G. Majors, 87, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel, 509 N. Hughes St., with the Rev. Herman Moore officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Majors was born July 20, 1917, in Dallas. She was an Amarillo resident for more than 50 years. Survivors include her friends and caregivers, Mrs. Loraine McMurry and Beth Mayberry. Bell St. Mrs. Bailey was born in Akron, Ohio, and had lived in the Amarillo area for 48 years. She married W.C. "Bill" Bailey in 1946 at Edinburg. She was a devout wife, mother and homemaker. Services at the time of her burial will also honor her late husband, Bill, as they will be laid to rest together. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996. Survivors include a son, William B. Georgia St. Mrs. Wilson was born in Harrold and grew up in Vernon, where she graduated from high school. She attended West Texas State College and was married to William A. "Bill" Wilson in 1940. They moved to Amarillo in 1950, where they raised their family. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. After her husband's death, she became a medical receptionist. She was a longtime member of San Jacinto Methodist Church where she served as president of her Sunday school class, "The Pathfinders," and was an active participant in United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Craft Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965 and her only sister, Mary Gann. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Wilson and Beth Wasmer, both of Colorado; a son, Van Wilson and wife, Susan, of Empire, Mich.; six nieces and nephews, Judy Glaze, Janie Shaw, Roy Jean Capio, Roy Gann Jr., Vicki Schaeffer and Peggy Dosser; and her dear sister-in-law, Joy Wilson, now of Austin. Matthiesen, retired bishop, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Hoff, the son of Ignatuis Hoff and Hedwig Klotz Hoff, was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Archer County. Mr. Hoff was employed at ASARCO from 1943 to 1976. He was also the custodian and maintenance man at St. Laurence Cathedral from 1954 to 1982. He married Odell Parkhill on Feb. 1, 1942, in Wichita Falls. She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 1982. He later married Frances Hulen Raef in March 1983 in Amarillo. She passed away on July 27, 2002. Survivors include two children, Freda Bezner of Pampa and Connie Brown of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Bobby Bezner of Brenham, Tracy Bezner of Gushikawa City, Okinawa, and April Brown of Fort Worth; a sister, Almarie Meier of Grants Pass, Ore.; and four stepchildren, Roger Hulen and Ronnie Hulen, both of Amarillo, Doyle Hulen and Donna Agee of Canyon. Mr. Walker, the son of John V. and Martha Pike Walker, was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Mount Pleasant. He retired as a schoolteacher. He taught in Chicota, Blossom and various schools in the Texas Panhandle. His favorite subject to teach was vo-ag and among his other duties was coaching basketball, which he loved. He was a member of Texas Retired Teacher's Association and Lakewood Baptist Church. He married Barbara Overton in 1945 and she preceded him in death. He then married Fannie Rudene Pike on June 30, 1951. She preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 1995. He was preceded in death by both wives; a brother, Johnnie Walker; and two sisters, Millie and Mattie. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Walker and wife, Linda, of Iowa Park, L.A. Walker and wife, Donda, of Amarillo and Allen Walker and wife, Joni, of Cary, N.C.; two daughters, Cheryl England and husband, Tom, of Smithville, Tenn., and Peggy Shields and husband, Rickey, of Richardson; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
