Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Mark Urquhart officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton. Mrs. Rowell was born in Hammon, Okla. She had been a longtime resident of Mobeetie. She was a rancher in Wheeler County and lived in the area since 1952. She moved to Amarillo in 1984. Mrs. Rowell was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.A. Rowell, and a son, Keith Rowell. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Tibbs and husband, Charles, of Orange Beach, Ala.; a son, Gary Rowell and wife, Ginger, of Amarillo; a brother, George Flick of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Lois Hubbard of Oklahoma City and Beulah Odom of Prescott, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 13, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Luke C. McClelland Luke C. McClelland, 92, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. McClelland was born July 3, 1912, in Jacksboro. He attended Texas Tech University from 1929 to 1930. He moved to Dalhart in 1930 to work for his uncle, Daniel Atkinson. He married Aline Day on Oct. 21, 1933, and moved to Pampa. He partnered with his cousin, Crawford Atkinson, in a filling station in the 1930s, then they opened Motor Inn Auto Supply. They owned and operated auto parts stores in Pampa, Borger, Dumas, Perryton, Stinnett, Canyon, Sunray, Groom, Panhandle, Hereford and Amarillo, as well as Western Warehouse Inc. in Amarillo. The McClellands lived in Pampa from 1933 to 1969. Mr. McClelland served Pampa Country Club as president three different terms. He was a member of Rotary International for 60 years, both in Pampa and Amarillo, where the McClellands moved in 1969. He was a member of Anna Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Henry of Amarillo; a daughter, Mrs. John Womack of Canyon; two grandchildren, Jamey Gallemore of Plano and Leslie Carlile of Canyon; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 13, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Emma Clark Shields Mary Emma Clark Shields, 76, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Shields was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Olustee, Okla., moving to Nara Visa, N.M., at the age of 2. She moved to Texas in 1945, moving to Amarillo in 1949. Mrs. Shields was employed by Whites Home and Auto until going to work for the Federal Bureau of Mines Helium Operations in 1965, from which she retired in December 1989 after 24 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Shields; her parents, Lonnie and Nora Clark; and a brother, Harold Clark. Survivors include a son, Randy Charles Shields of Taipei, Taiwan; two sisters, Joanne Pierce of Amarillo and Imogene Tedford of Fort Worth; a brother, Keith Clark of Irving; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Novian, associate pastor, and Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Daniels was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Lockney. She came to Pampa in 1954 from Amarillo. She married J.C. Daniels on June 26, 1954, in Pampa. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime fourth grade Sunday school class teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C., on Jan. 30, 2000; and by her first husband, Walter T. Peterson, in 1951. Survivors include two daughters, Jona Smith and husband, Davee, and Marilyn Steed, all of Pampa; two sons, Barry Peterson of Amarillo and Garry Peterson of Las Vegas; a daughter-in-law, Becky Peterson of Eagle, Colo.; a brother, Wayne Simpson of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Don Peterson of Corvallis, Ore., Erik Peterson of Avon, Colo., Jerrod Imel and Jacee Smith, both of Pampa, Barry Peterson Jr. of Austin, Laura-Marie Finley of Owings Mills, Md., and Shelbi Whittenburg of Italy; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Marcia Hoover, Mary Duenkel and Kathryn Green; and three special caregivers, Tina Miranda, Karen Hapeman and Mary Howell. Mrs. Shoemake was born Nov. 21, 1947, in Quanah, the daughter of the late William Henry Daniel and Mary Cleo Scates Daniel. She married Jimmy Shoemake on Oct. 19, 1979, in Altus, Okla. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Betty Diane Robinson of Quanah; a stepdaughter, Edith Mayfield of Louisiana; a son, Jimmy O'Brian Shoemake of Quanah; two brothers, William Hugh Daniel of Amarillo and Gary Daniel of Plainview; and three grandchildren.
