Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dodson Cemetery with the Rev. Al Mixon, pastor of Dodson Church of the Nazarene officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Tabor was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Wellington to Herschel Tabor and Berneice Riddle Tabor. He served in the Army. Survivors include a son, Bobby Lynn Tabor of White Settlement; a daughter, Lynda Carrell of Olustee, Okla.; his mother of Amarillo; a sister, Donna Maxwell of Amarillo; a brother, Kim Tabor of Amarillo; and three granddaughters. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Pat Carathers, pastor of Saint Hyacinth Catholic Church, officiating. Miss Hittson was born on March 9, 1985, in Amarillo to Mark and Delphine Hittson. She attended special education classes at Palo Duro High School. She had competed in Special Olympics in the past. She attended Saint Hyacinth Catholic Church. Ashli will be greatly missed by all those whom she knew and loved, including many of Gods animals. She touched the heart of everyone who knew her. Survivors include her parents; a brother, Michael Hittson of Amarillo; a grandmother, Beulah Hittson of Des Moines, N.M.; a great- grandmother, Marjorie McLaughlin of Clayton, N.M.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Canyon with the Rev. David Lowrie officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home. Mrs. Lowery was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Running Water to Lem Standefer and Lola McGowan Standefer. She was a secretary at the Randall County Courthouse before opening the Merle Norman Studio in Canyon. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. She was a special lady who was loved by her family, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Bourland in 1964 and Les Lowery in 1999; two sisters, Hattie Henshaw and Ruth Anderson; and a brother, Howard Standefer. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 18, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Clifford L. Arnold HEREFORD - Clifford L. Arnold, 79, died Thursday, September 16, 2004. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Arnold was born July 19, 1925, in Donley County, the son of Porter L. and Hassie (Clay) Arnold. Cliff was a veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II as a radioman, on the staff of Vice Admiral Daniel E. Barby, commander of the 7th amphibious forces in the South Pacific. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview and West Texas State College in Canyon. He moved to Hereford in 1949 and worked in retail sales. Mr. Arnold married Guiletta Uvonne Gunstenson on Dec. 2, 1952, in Hereford. He retired from tax assessing and collecting for the school, city and county appraisal district which he had done since 1966. Cliff was a member of First Baptist Church and some of his special interests were working on genealogy, playing golf and hunting Indian relics and arrowheads. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Lois Walker of Silverton and Voneta Marcus of Lafayette, Ind. The family suggests memorials be to Panhandle Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 18, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Odessa Wilbanks PAMPA - Odessa Wilbanks, 87, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. J. C. Burt, a longtime family friend and associate pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wilbanks was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Pampa to Mr. and Mrs. Milas Winkler. She was the granddaughter of Mr. W. M. and Tillie Castleberry, old-time settlers of Pampa. She lived all her life in Pampa, was a member of First United Methodist Church and graduated from Pampa High School in 1935. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, graduating in 1939 with BBA and BS degrees. While attending West Texas State University, she was a member of the Delta Chi Sorority and president of the Cousins Hall Dormitory. She taught high school in Spearman for two years and was an elementary teacher in Pampa for 12 years. She enjoyed arts and crafts and pursued these hobbies well into her senior years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother and father; and a brother, Wayne Winkler. Survivors include a son, C. Shane Wilbanks and wife, Paula G., of Grapevine; three grandchildren, Shaye Wilbanks Kopec and husband, Chris, P. Chad Wilbanks and wife, Rachelle, and D. Shane Wilbanks and wife, Ashley; five great- grandchildren, Zach and Alex Kopec, Garrett and Reagan Wilbanks, and Landon Wilbanks. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 18, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- T.L. Sparkman HEREFORD - T.L. Sparkman, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Frio Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Tims, former pastor of Frio Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Sparkman was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Childress the second child of Thomas Lester "T.L." and Lora (Springer) Sparkman. He moved with his family from Childress to the Jumbo Community in 1917. He made his profession of faith and was baptized on Aug. 17, 1930, as a charter member of Frio Baptist Church. He served many years as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school director and deacon at Frio. T.L. Began school in Jumbo in 1923. His family moved to the Frio Community in January 1925, where he attended Frio School. He then attended Hereford High School, where he was a senior in 1934. He met his one and only love, Ruby Andrews, at the Frio school at age 11. T.L. and Ruby married on Dec. 26, 1936, in Clovis, N.M. T.L. spent his life as a rancher and farmer. He served on the High Plains Underground Water Conservation Board from 1959 to 1963. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The family would like to thank Mary Ann Cantu and Mary Lou Martinez of BSA Hospice. He was preceded in death by his loving wife on Aug. 31, 2000; a grandson, Jason Richardson on April 6, 1976; and a great-granddaughter, Vanessa Sparkman on July 23, 1996. Survivors include a son, Tommy Sparkman and wife, Patsy; two daughters, Bonnie Baldwin and husband, Eugene, and Darlene Richardson and husband, Jerry; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kevin Sparkman; Kirk and Shawnay Sparkman and their children, Tyrell and Savannah; Kandi and Heath Bell and their children, Jacob, Sarah and Maggie; Robin and Joseph Diller, Brett Baldwin; Jennifer and David Henslee and their daughter, Emily; and Jeremy and Lesli Richardson. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Texhoma First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold James and the Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Evans was born July 16, 1908, in Erick, Okla. She married Robert William "Bob" Evans on Jan. 3, 1926, in Shawnee, Okla. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Lavake of Amarillo; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
