Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Luke Presbyterian Church with Dr. Pat Kennedy officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. McBride was born in Plainview on June 11, 1929. At the age of 14 her parents moved to Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947. She attended Amarillo College and West Texas State University, receiving a bacelor of science in 1951. She taught school in Canyon, Amarillo and Pampa for 31 years. She retired in 1989. Mrs. McBride was a member of St. Luke Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Royce, in 1991. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy S. Wheeler and Randall Ator officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Dodson was born in Meridian and was raised in Amarillo. He attended Canyon High School and graduated from Dallas High School in Dallas, Pa., in 1972. While attending Dallas High School, Bruce enjoyed singing in the school chorus as well as participating in the drama program and playing football. He also attended West Texas State University. Bruce was a pilot for Diamond Shamrock before becoming a commercial pilot for Continental Airlines. He lived in San Antonio from 1983 until 1995 when he returned to Amarillo. He owned and operated Elite Limousine Service and also owned and managed rental property in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Dodson in 1979. Survivors include a son, Michael Anthony Dodson of Amarillo; his parents, John M. and Bonnie Dodson of Amarillo, and Robert and Nancy Dingman of Dallas; his former wife and the mother of his son, Mary Ann Dodson of Amarillo; two sisters, Gayle Tyler and Carrie Shankles, both of Amarillo; six brothers, John E. Osage St. Ms. Arguello was born in Greeley, Colo. She worked as a cook in her early years in New Mexico. She was Catholic. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Helton was born May 7, 1920, in Post to Louis Franklin Barrow and Mary Ethel Barrow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glynn Helton; her parents; and her brothers and sisters. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Lee was born May 3, 1920, in Liberal, Kan., and was a lifetime resident of the area. She married Elliott Dewey Lee on Oct. 17, 1946, in El Paso. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1937. She entered the military WAC and worked in the Texas Legislature for attorney Max W. Boyer. She was a legal secretary for Lemon, Close and Atkinson. She later managed Ochiltree County Abstract for many years. The Ochiltree Abstract sold to Firstbank Southwest and became Covenant Title. She worked there until she retired. She was instrumental in the first Satellite Arts and Crafts show, helped form the Senior Citizens Center and El Centro, where she helped teach English. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Jesse and Imogene May; a sister, Maxine Palmer; and her husband in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Jan Page and husband, Jim, of Perryton; a granddaughter, Reagan Silva and husband, Mike, of Pensacola, Fla.; a grandson, Brett Page of Perryton; and a brother, George May of Perryton. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Owens was born Oct. 6, 1926, in Clarendon and had been a lifelong resident of Clarendon. He married Jacquetta Ray Briggs on Aug. 26, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was involved with his father in the trucking business and later owned and operated the business for 59 years before his retirement. He was a member of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cathie Ray Fichte of Yukon, Okla., Pamela Denise Bertrand of Clarendon; a son, Billy Michael Owens of Clarendon; four sisters, Peggy Harrell of Ballinger, Charlene Reynolds of Amarillo, Annell Stokes of Pampa and Patricia McAnear of Clarendon; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 19, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mildred Geraldine Floyd Hoggard HEDLEY - Mildred Geraldine Floyd Hoggard, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, and the Rev. Jim Howard of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Hoggard was born June 10, 1923, in Walters, Cotton County, Okla. She was married to Clyde C. Hoggard on April 11, 1942, at the Clarendon Methodist parsonage by the Rev. Quattlebaum with witnesses L.W. and Ruby Sullivan. As an infant, Mildred arrived in Lelia Lake in a covered wagon. Her memories are: "My parents told me they had an Indian neighbor whose name was Jim Papahoopsie. I had a brown spot near my left eye and dad always told me that was where old Jim kissed me. He rode up on his paint pony and wanted to see the papoose. Dad handed me to him and he rode off with me. He brought me back and kissed me before he gave me back to my dad. When I was a tiny baby, my parents moved from Walters, Okla., to Donley County. They drove the livestock with horses ridden by my brothers. I claim to be the youngest covered wagon pioneer to arrive in the county." She was a wife and homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated an irrigated alfalfa and cotton farm. She cooked at various restaurants in Tucumcari, N.M., owned and operated the Owl Cafe in Hedley in 1958 and cooked at Clarendon Medical Center Nursing Home and Clarendon College. Mildred was the valedictorian of Lelia Lake's 1941 graduating class. She was a member of Hedley Baptist Church and Hedley Senior Citizens. She was baptized at the age of 5 in one of the lakes at Lelia Lake during a Methodist revival by the Rev. Lackey. Brother Rob Lackey baptized Clyde and Mildred later at First Baptist Church in Hedley. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 13, 1988; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include her children, Cecilia Hoggard Lemons and husband, Jim, of Amarillo and Bob Hoggard and wife, Carla, of Hedley; her grandchildren, Melissa A. Lemons and Darren Jones, Billie Jo "Jodi" Lemons Crawford and husband, Dean, Audra G. Hoggard Fruge' and husband, John, William R. "Billy" Hoggard and wife, Sariah, Candi L.
