Services will be at 3 p.m. today in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Travis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Gwyn was born June 20, 1915, to James W. and Eva Mae Hales Gwyn in Clinton, Ky. He married Dollye Seay in 1946. He retired from Sears, after working 25 years in the display department. He was a commercial artist and sign painter for many years. He served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ambassador class of San Jacinto and the men's Bible class. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997; his parents; and three brothers, Aaron Gwyn, J.W. Gwyn and James Gwyn. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Drake of Amarillo and Margie Cox of Euless; a son, Warren Burnett Gwyn of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Morgan of Fritch; three brothers, George Gwyn, Charles Gwyn and Freeman Gwyn, all of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, 219 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101 or to San Jacinto United Methodist Church, 505 S. Tennessee St., Amarillo, TX 79106. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with Bishop John Yanta, Monsignor Tash and Father William Zapalac officiating. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Survivors include her husband, Dr. John E. Jones; three daughters, Debra Jones Ringold and husband, Paul, of Corvallis, Ore., Kathleen Jones Ellingson and husband, Thomas, of Minneapolis and Lisa Jones Mints of Amarillo; two sons, John E. Jones Jr. of Houston and William C. Jones and wife, Deloris, of Amarillo; two brothers, Robert E. Zapalac and wife, Diane, of Oakland, Calif., and Father William E. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kevin Gambrel Kevin Gambrel, 44, of Amarillo died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with Rob Penner officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Gambrel was born and raised in Amarillo. He attended Tascosa High School, where he played varsity football. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1978. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1983. He married Barb Wilson in 1987 in Hong Kong. He lived in China for 15 years, where he worked with youth for a mission. He also lived in Hong Kong for five years. He returned to Amarillo in July. He taught special education at Tascosa High School. He also coached roller hockey in China and in Amarillo. He loved life, kids and playing hearts. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Gambrel, in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Hannah, of Amarillo; a son, Stephen, of Amarillo; his mother, Helen Gambrel of Amarillo; his twin brother, Steve Gambrel and wife, Kim, of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Sherri Graham and husband, Gary, and Kim Rich and husband, Garry, all of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Alpha Communities, Inc., P.O. Box 704, Monument, CO 80132-0704. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Raines of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Duke was born in Amarillo to Ernest and Evelyn Gann. She married Johnny M. Duke on June 26, 1957. Mrs. Duke retired from the Hong Kong Restaurant after 22 years as a waitress. She will always be remembered for her kind and gracious spirit. She would give everything she had to help someone in need. Her life revolved around her family, and she treasured each of her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone that loved and knew her. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Janet Duke of Albuquerque, N.M., and Stephanie Carrasco of Amarillo; a son, Joe Duke and wife, Sharie, of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Christina Rocha, Jennifer Duke, Elizabeth Fernandez, CaitLin Duke, Victoria Carrasco, Michaela Duke, J.C. Duke and Jaime Martinez; and a great-grandchild, Junhi Doan. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Ewing officiating and the Rev. Rob Lindley assisting. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Cagle was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Hope, Ark. He married Laverne Amerson on July 20, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Hurt and Vesta Chitty, both of Tulia; two brothers, David Brantley of Hope and Delma Brantley of Linden, La.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Wally Chavez, pastor, Steve Martinez, pastor, and Dr. Morris Sheats officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers was born Sept. 17, 1985, in Amarillo. Reid was a student at Wayland Baptist University. He had lived in Plainview for 10 years, having moved from Sulphur Springs. He was a 2004 graduate of Plainview High School. He was past secretary for the PHS band, vice president of student council his junior year and played varsity basketball for PHS. He was an officer of the Leo Club. He was a winner of Leadership Plainview scholarship. He was a member of Student Senate and attended Texas Boys State. He was a Lavern Roach nominee. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church and was a member of the staff of 180 Youth Ministry. He was, at the time of his death, a server at the Cotton Patch Restaurant. Survivors include his parents, Steve and Debi Rogers of Plainview; a sister, Rachael Rogers of Denton; a brother, Rustin Rogers of Plainview; his grandmother, Frances Watson of Winter Park, Fla.; multiple aunts, uncles and cousins; and a multitude of close friends. Pallbearers will be Chase Thompson, Brandon Gilroy, Mario Leyva, Phillip Cunningham, Cody Russell and Jose Serrano. The family suggests memorials be to the 180 Youth Fund at Trinity Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Union Congregational Church in Friona, Texas, with the Rev. Paul Mohr of Lubbock, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Donnelly had been a resident of Tucson for the past three years. She moved there from Artesia, N.M. She was a retired schoolteacher. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Donnelly Kris and husband, Rick, of Tucson; two sons, Pat Donnelly of Albuquerque, N.M., and Clayton Donnelly and wife, Linda, of Las Cruces, N.M.; a sister, June Cleveland of Denver; a brother, Gaylord Maurer of Amarillo, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Reuben, Deana, Clay and Melanie Donnelly, Mark Sosa and Erica and Alex Kris.
