Graves Helen E. Graves, 72, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Jerry Davey, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Graves was born March 11, 1932, in Wellington. Survivors include a son, Mickey Graves of Amarillo; a daughter, Kathy Turner of Hedley; a brother, Gordon Fort of Amarillo; a sister, Jean Peeler of Florida; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Sunset Memorial Terrace Cemetery in Farwell with Michael Pinkston, executive pastor of The Church at Quail Creek - San Jacinto Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Mills was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Munday, to John and Lucy Mills. Mr. Mills grew up in Roswell, N.M., and had lived in Silverton six years before moving to Farwell in 1957, where he was office manager for Parmer County ASCS until his retirement. Mr. Mills was a member of Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge in Bovina for more than 25 years and Texico Farwell Rotary Club. He married LaVon Bailey on June 29, 1939, in Roswell. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 4, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Aiello of Amarillo and Cheryl Spiewak and husband, Bob, of Batavia, Ill.; a son, Donald Wade Mills and wife, Drucilla, of Sonoma, Calif.; five grandchildren, Chuck, Tom and Don Spiewak, all of Batavia, Angie Frank and husband, Phil, of Fort Worth and Cindy Dockery and husband, Steve, of Amarillo; five great-granddaughters, Heather and Breanna Spiewak, Peyton Frank and Darcy and Abby Dockery. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Brewer was born May 30, 1920, in Cederdale, Okla., to Solan and Laura Choate Brewer. He attended VA Agriculture College and married Naoma Howeth in Fairview, Okla., in 1939. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was in the third wave to invade Iwo Jima. He received the Purple Heart Award. He farmed and ranched in Randall County since 1958. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003; and nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Vynona Gale Goode and husband, Roy, of Bushland; four sons, Tom Brewer of Amarillo, Wayne Brewer of Bushland, Don Brewer of Hereford and Hershel Brewer and wife, Patricia, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a brother, Don Wilcox of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She married Lonnie Neeley on Oct. 6, 1945, in Wellington. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; a granddaughter, Andra Ingram, in 1979; and two brothers. Survivors include a son, Cary Don Neeley of Quail; a daughter, Lonetta Ingram of Amarillo; two brothers, C.E. Welch of Hedley and William W. Mrs. Williamson was born July 13, 1931, in Leedey to Perry H. and Montie Marie Brinlee Ivy. She married Joe Williamson on April 14, 1948, in Leedey. Survivors include two daughters, Joetta Sword of Wheeler, Texas, and Melinda Simpson of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Alene Story and Darlene McClendon, both of Elk City, and Colene Peck of Canute. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in White Bluff Chapel at White Bluff Resort on Lake Whitney with the Rev. Richard Covington, a nephew by marriage, officiating. Mr. Gibson was born Oct. 4, 1942, in Amarillo to W.W. "Duck" and Ruth Gibson. Mike graduated in 1961 from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, where he excelled in golf on the 1961 Rebels' state-qualifying team. He graduated with a bachelor of arts from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Social Fraternity at Oklahoma. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Oklahoma Sooner football team. He married Nancy Draper on Dec. 11, 1968, in Amarillo. They had recently retired to White Bluff, near Whitney, where they had completed their "ideal" retirement home. Mike was an independent sales representative to garment and sportswear manufacturers for many successful years. He was a member of First Community Church and active with the Big Brothers organization in Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mary Sue Morris; a sister-in-law, Phoebe Webb and husband, Coyt; a brother-in-law, Charles Draper and wife, Linda; three cousins, John Victor Cline, Harold Fincher and Gerald Gibson; two nieces, Andrea Pembroke and Cara Covington; three nephews, Cody Webb, Cole Webb and Kyle Draper; four great-nieces; three great-nephews; and lifelong friends, Bob Wood and Jim Pavlonnis. Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock by Brownfield Funeral Home. Mrs. Melcher was born May 15, 1925, in Ragtown. She attended school in Wilson and graduated from Slaton High School in 1942. She married Frank Melcher on Sept. 10, 1946, in Slaton. They moved to Lubbock in 1948 and then to Brownfield in 1959. She helped with Meals on Wheels, was a past president of Brownfield High School Band Boosters and was past president and charter member of St. Anthony's Altar Society since 1959. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathy Vernon of Amarillo and Debbie Nussy of Wylie; three sons, Randy of Lewisville, Doug of Brownfield and Danny of Oklahoma City; a sister, Billie Jean Benton of Tustin, Calif.; a brother, W.L. Stevens Jr. of Salinas, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
