Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Ray Meier, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Lucero was born April 18, 1936, in Encino, N.M., to Cayetano Lucero and Anita Garcia Lucero. He had lived in Amarillo since 1977. Since 1994, he had been the general manager of operations at Mossberg Sanitation Inc. He was a veteran of the Army serving two consecutive terms. Mr. Lucero was a Christian. He married Patricia Salguero on Dec. 11, 1961, in Portales, N.M. He was preceded in death by his father in 1991; his mother in 2001; and two brothers, Florentino Lucero in 2001 and C. D. Lucero in 2004. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Lucero and Richard Patrick Lucero, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Ester Lucero and Kristine Lucero, both of Amarillo; a brother, David Lucero of Austin; five sisters, Martha Sisneros and Josie Gauna, both of Amarillo, Priscilla Pena and Dora Tafoya, both of Portales, N.M., and Carmen Haines of Greeley, Colo.; and three grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bradford was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Childress to Earl Lee and Geneva Louise Page Moran. She was preceded in death by her husband, Texas Bradford Garrett Sr.; two sons, Franklin Earl and Royce Ray Bradford; her mother; and a sister, Freddie Louise Moran. Survivors include a son, Texas Bradford Garrett Jr. and wife, Laura; her father of Amarillo; her siblings, Billie Leroy Moran of Wichita, Kan., James Everett Moran of Kirkland, Freida Sturgill of Graham and Essie Mae Burt and husband, Don, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Derek Wayne Bradford and Yo-Yo Lorraine Bradford; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Phil Harguess officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Upchurch served as a sergeant in the Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign. He worked in farming and then for ICX for 27 years. He married Juanita Westbrook on Feb. 24, 1945, in Las Cruces, N.M. She preceded him in death in 1990. He then married Bonnie Williams on Feb. 1, 1998. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Gary Williams of Waco and Don Williams of Woodinville, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Lemons of Amarillo; 10 stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends from all over. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Mathews was born March 5, 1934, in Gainesville to Owen and Alice Almon. She married Bob Mathews on April 29, 1951. Mrs. Mathews had a master of education degree and was a teacher at Bonham Junior High, Amarillo High School and Caprock High School. She also worked for Region 16 before retiring in 1997. Mrs. Mathews was a member of Eastern Star since 1967 and was a former worthy matron of Eastern Star Borger Chapter No. 811. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; a brother, Marcus Newton Almon; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice. "Skip" Aduddell, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in Amarillo. No services are planned. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957 and then was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam conflict from 1967 to 1972. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Alan Williamson of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Maryville, Mo. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1934. Rosalie married M.C. Johnson in 1947. They opened the first Coronado Drug Store in Borger in 1947 and ran this business until 1964. She then joined Investors Diversified Services which later became American Express Financial Services, where she served as a financial planner until her retirement in 1995. Rosalie was a charter member of Borger Altrusa Club, in which she served in many roles, including president. She was a founder of the Buttercup House, a quality community childcare center for Borger, and served on its board for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Anna O'Grady; and a son, J. Richard Pendergraft. Survivors include a son, Dr. Tom Johnson and wife, Susan, of Amarillo; a daughter, Anette J. Carlisle and husband, Taylor, of Amarillo; a daughter-in- law, Cookie Pendergraft of Fort Worth; and 11 grandchildren, Adam Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Paul Johnson, Travis Johnson, Walker Carlisle, Darwin Carlisle, Everett Carlisle, Jeffrey Pendergraft, Scott Pendergraft, Steve Pendergraft and Jeff Pendergraft. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Mr. Redelesperger was a lifetime rancher and farmer that loved the land, his family and his grandchildren very much. Survivors include his wife, Erma; a daughter, Phoebe Kaiser of Weatherford, Okla.; a son, Arlen Redelesperger of Hereford; four brothers, Adolph Redelesperger, David Redelesperger, Orin Redelesperger and Robert Redelesperger, all of Follett; two sisters, Pauline Pshigoda of Perryton and Ada Haferkamp of Follett; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 16, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Holland Edward Toles Jr. TULIA - Holland Edward Toles Jr., 85, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Toles was born in Centre, Ala., on Aug. 11, 1919. He moved to Happy at age 2 and graduated from Happy High School in 1937. He also attended West Texas State University, where he played for the Buffalo basketball team as a freshman. He served with the Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Toles entered the grain business in Happy in 1946 as president and co- owner of Harman-Toles Grain Co. In 1956, he moved to Tulia when Harman-Toles opened a second location in Tulia. Other locations were later added at Union, Wayside and Arney. He served as a member of the board of directors for Panhandle Grain Dealers Association in 1958. Mr. Toles was also a founder and co-owner of one of the Panhandle's largest feedyards, Swisher County Cattle Co. Mr. Toles had farming interests in Swisher County and served as a charter member of the board of directors for Tulia Savings and Loan. For several years beginning in the late 1960s, Mr. Toles served on the board of directors for Mesa Petroleum Co., a NYSE company then based in Amarillo. Mr. Toles was active in community affairs throughout his life. He was a city commissioner in Happy from 1950 to 1954 and was mayor of Happy from 1954 to 1955. He also served six years on the board of trustees for Tulia ISD, where he served two years as president. He was the first chairman of Tulia Housing Authority and over the years, he served as chairman of the Tulia Parks Board, as a member of Swisher County Airport board, the board of trustees for First United Methodist Church of Tulia and West Texas State University Ex-Students Association. He married Mary Del Johnston of Happy in 1949. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Frank Toles of Happy. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ed III of Houston; two daughters, Tanya Lott and Labob Ebeling and husband, Allan, all of Georgetown; two grandsons, Holland Toles IV of Austin and Slayton Ebeling of Georgetown; and four granddaughters, Britni Ebeling, Andi Lott, Calli Ebeling and Raini Lott, all of Georgetown.
