Johnson Barbara L. Johnson, 70, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Scott Greer, senior minister of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Mrs. Johnson was born in Pampa and married Roy L. Johnson on July 12, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church for 39 years. She was a charter member of Caprock Cruisers Motorhome Club, a member of Pairs and Squares Square Dance Club for 31 years and was a former member of Amarillo Desk and Derrick Club. She retired in 1985 as a bookkeeper for Baker and Taylor Drilling Co. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, April S. Spikes of Santa Fe, N.M.; two grandchildren, Bradley Spikes and wife, Elhahm, and Amanda Carthey and husband, Mathew, all of Dallas. The family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, 219 W. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Memphis with the Rev. Gary Boles and Johnny Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis by Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis. Mr. Duncan was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Memphis to R.L. and Dorothy Duncan. He was a graduate of Memphis High School in 1955, Clarendon College and West Texas State University in Canyon. He was a veteran of the Army. He owned and operated the Old Fashioned Freeze in Memphis with his mother. He later taught school in the Amarillo ISD and retired from Panhandle Community Services as a licensed professional counselor after 28 years of service with the agency. David's sense of humor and his love for people will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, R.H. "Bobby" Duncan, Roy Benton Duncan and Betty Ruth Duncan. Georgia St. Mrs. Henson was born in Jackson, Miss., on Sept. 9, 1911, to W.H. and Annie May Henson. She graduated from Canyon High School. After graduating, she attended secretarial school in Oklahoma City. She married A.L. "Bus" Henson in Clovis, N.M., on Nov. 4, 1931. She was a charter member of Southwest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; and a son, Ken Henson in February 2004. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Gibson was an LVN, working at several nursing homes in Amarillo. She was a loving mother, sister and friend and will be sorely missed by her family and church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gar Gibson in 1965; and a daughter, Tommie Jean Burrier in 2000. Survivors include a daughter, Dana McMillan and husband, Larry, of Amarillo; a sister, Alice Melton of Amarillo; a brother, Buck Sargent of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. McDougall served as a Green Beret in Special Forces in a tour during the Korean conflict and three tours during the Vietnam War. He was an established defense attorney for more than 30 years. He was a member of "Who's Who in the World of Law," and was recognized to defend in the Supreme Court of the United States. Gerald has now joined his wife in peace. Survivors include two sons, Fred A. McDougall and James R. McDougall and wife, Ysabel, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Oliva married Yolanda Negron in 1951 at Santiago, Cuba. He was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. He was a sergeant in the Cuban Marines, where he served for 23 years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bowie Street Church of Christ with Ray Don Jackson, nephew, of Woodward, Okla., and Rick Popejoy, minister, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson was born Oct. 29, 1915, to A.B. "Sandy" Jackson and Anna Dabney Jackson in Wellington. A lifetime resident of Collingsworth County, she worked as a farmer and homemaker. She married John Jackson on Aug. 1, 1936, in Hollis, Okla. Marie won many awards as an accomplished quilter and has a quilt block displayed at the museum in Canyon. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; three sisters, Agnes Blaylock, Maude Blaylock and Thelma Brewer; and two brothers, Elbert and Raymond Hicks. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean conflict. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Massie was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a longtime area farmer who was chosen Parmer County Farmer of the Year in 1967, and was a member of Wheat Growers Association. He was chosen as Friona Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1995. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of the Board of Stewards, Friona I.S.D. school board and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Friona, where he served as a member of the board of trustees. He was and avid hunter and Friona Squaws supporter. He served in the Navy during the end of World War II and then joined the Army and served two years in Korea during the Korean War. Survivors include four brothers, Arnold Miera of Bueyeros, Adolph Miera of Nara Visa, Epifanio Miera of Clayton and Alfonso Miera of Belen; and many nieces and nephews.
