Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Laurence Cathedral with the Rev. Gabriel Cardiel officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Dorado was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Los Angeles. In 1926, his family moved to Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico. He married Francisca Soriano of Jerez in 1946 and they were married 58 years. He moved his family to Amarillo in 1961. He was self-employed most of his life and retired in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lina and Gregorio Dorado; two sisters, Refugio Dorado and Antonia Dorado; two sons, Ramiro Dorado and Jesus Dorado; and a daughter, Yolanda Dorado. Survivors include his wife; his children, Antonio Dorado and wife, Lupe, Armando Dorado and wife, Leticia, Gloria Miller, Alicia Ramonez and husband, Juan, and Grace Stringer and husband, Kelly, all of Amarillo, Martha Pena and husband, Frank, of Iowa Park and Anita Bellinger and husband, Tom, of Lakewood, Colo.; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rafaela Dorado of Jerez; and three brothers, Pedro Dorado and Juan Dorado, both of Jerez, and Francisco Dorado of Bakersfield, Calif. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 23, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruby Anna Mae Hayhurst Ruby Anna Mae Hayhurst, 84, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Damon Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Miss Hayhurst was born May 22, 1920, in Little, Okla., to James C. and Ruth Jane (Reed) Hayhurst. Ruby was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1938, then attended Amarillo Business College, where she majored in accounting and business management. Upon graduation, she worked three years as a legal secretary. She then went to work in the war effort at Pantex, where she was the administrative assistant to the architect who was responsible for the design and building of Pantex. After the war, Ruby was a business manager for Jeoffery Manufacturing until 1980, when she became the business manager and project coordinator for Gilbert Building. She retired in 1989 to enjoy her family and her love of travel, especially to the mountains of New Mexico. She was a member of San Jacinto Assembly of God. She was our rock and our wonderful aunt Ruby will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include a sister, Margaret Lavonne Gilbert of Amarillo; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great number of other family and friends. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Harrelson was born in Blue Grass, Okla., and married Homer D. Harrelson in 1940. Mrs. Harrelson retired from civil service as a medical transcriptionist at the VA Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Stanley Harrelson of Denver and Stuart Harrelson of Amarillo; four granddaughters; and a great-grandson. Mrs. Marshall was born and raised in Parnell and moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Childress. She attended Amarillo High School. She married Jim Marshall in 1964 in Amarillo. Mrs. Marshall was a member of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Marshall will be dearly missed by her family. She loved to paint and also loved collecting angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Delta Canada; a sister, Kathleen Glover; and two brothers, Kenneth Canada and B.J. Canada. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rose Boyd and Rosemarie Chapman, both of Amarillo; a son, Fred Marshall of Amarillo; three sisters, Nora Cook, Reba Jones and Debra Ashby, all of Amarillo; a brother, Gary Canada of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Powers was born June 27, 1946, in Amarillo. She was a Baptist and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Powers, in 1991. Mrs. Blythe was born July 22, 1921, in Quinton, Okla. She was a homemaker. She was a Dumas resident since 1939. She married Elmo Blythe on April 9, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. Along with her husband, they owned and operated Blythe Egg Ranch from 1945 to 1976. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jack Blythe and wife, Gail, of Dumas and Doug Blythe and wife, Cheryl, of Springfield, Va.; a daughter, Kay Blythe of Amarillo; three sisters, Pat Radloff of Houston, Wana Clark of Midland and Ruth Tharp of Worland, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, Angela, Zachary, Tracy, Brannon, Katara, Kristen and Kelly; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a resident of Cactus since 1995 and was a farmer. Mrs. Fowler was born July 20, 1927, in Lakeview, to the late S.B. Smith and Ethel Jones Smith. She lived all of her life in Leslie and Lakeview. She married Carroll Fowler on Jan. 5, 1950, in Lakeview. Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Memphis. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Plainview Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home of Amarillo, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Stapleton was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Tidwell, the son of Thomas Lee Stapleton and Eula Bell Johnson. He came with his family to the Texas Panhandle shortly thereafter as part of a covered wagon train. Early in his life he bought and sold mules to be used as plow teams. He was a blacksmith, welder and general contractor by trade. He owned and operated Stapleton Construction Co. in Plainview for 46 years. He designed and built many of the farm and ranch implements used in the 1950s and 1960s. Later in life he enjoyed making metal art. His charm and wit made him a hit with all who knew him. A perfect day for M.O. included cooking on his self-designed and built patio cooker for his family, friends and church. He was a member of the original Hale County Sheriff¹s Posse. He, on his palomino horse named Buck, rode beside his brothers, Howard and Shelby, leading the posse in many parades across the United States. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; four brothers; six sisters; and a grandchild. Survivors include three sons, Quien Stapleton of Amarillo, Max Stapleton of Haskell and Louis Stapleton of Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was born June 16, 1918, in Hopkins County to Harley Gordon McJunkins and Mertie Lena (Phillips) McJunkins. She was a homemaker. She married Edd Anderson on Dec. 22, 1935, in Hollis. She was a member of Fairview Church of Christ in Childress. Marie had lived in the Duncan area for the past six years. She worked in the Childress School cafeteria for a short time. Marie enjoyed sewing, gardening and baking. She was an all-around good cook. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 13, 1998; a son, Harley Charles Anderson; her parents; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include a son, Jack Anderson and wife, Lavell, of Marlow; a daughter, Ilene Sims and husband, Bill, of Willow; her grandchildren, Belinda Anderson of Arlington, Texas, Wallace Anderson of Mesquite, Texas, Rebecca Sprayberry of Childress, Texas, and Connie Befort of Albuquerque, N.M.; her great-grandchildren, Adam Sprayberry, Sarah Sprayberry, Rachel Sprayberry, Jarod Befort, Hannah Rachael Anderson and Leah Abigail Anderson; and a niece, Judy Honea of Duncan.
