Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Kingswood United Methodist Church with Dr. Wylie E. "Buff" Hearn officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Alward was born in Oklahoma to Frank and Mamie Lane. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and the Altergate Sunday school class. She also volunteered as the church secretary and taught elementary Sunday school. Mrs. Alward had also worked as a volunteer at Northwest Texas Healthcare System. She married Willard "Bud" Alward on May 8, 1954, at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gloria Hudspeth and husband, Harvey, of Odessa; a son, Mike Alward and wife, Cindy, of Dalhart; a brother, Bob Lane of Altus, Okla.; three sisters, Wanda Litchford of Mineral Springs, Ark., and Kay Glenn and Linda Huddleston, both of Altus; and eight grandchildren, Blair Rush and Kristain Rush, both of Austin, Jennifer Alward and Jason Alward, both of Dalhart, Allison Ricketts and Zane Ricketts, both of Canyon, and Renee Ferrell and Shane Ferrell, both of Amarillo. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Hethcox was born in Deep Lake and resided in Amarillo since 1946. She retired from Panhandle Publishing after 26 years of service. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She married Roy Hethcox on June 10, 1939, in Memphis. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hethcox in 1999, and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lanny Hethcox of Strathmore, Calif., and Jarrell D. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Kimbell was born March 1, 1911, in Motley County, the daughter of Smith and Corean Purdy, one of their 10 children. She graduated from Turkey High School in 1931. Audrey married Rudy S. Kimbell in 1934. She helped Rudy with Kimbell Music Co. by forecasting which new record releases were most likely to become jukebox hits. She volunteered more than 10,000 hours at Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a faithful member of Central Church of Christ for more than 50 years. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile. Audrey was well-known to her family for being very frugal, but also very generous to her children and grandchildren. She had an amazing memory and remained very sharp throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Lavoyda Hill and husband, Gene, of Amarillo; a son, Larry Kimbell and wife, Shearer, of Amarillo; two brothers, Neal Purdy and Odell Purdy, both of Lubbock; a sister, Vera Williamson of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Gray was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Sand Springs, Okla. He worked as the general manager and chief grain inspector at the Amarillo Grain Exchange for 20 years. He and his wife of 63 years, Helen, owned and operated Yarg's Etc., a statuary shop located on Sixth Avenue. He was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church for more than 50 years and taught Sunday school at the Bivins Assisted Living Home for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Jolene Loar; a brother, Darwin "Sid" Gray; and a sister, Rowene Turner. Survivors include a son, Leroy Glen Gray and wife, Carol, of Amarillo; a sister, June Reed; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Keffler, 78, of Amarillo died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004. Vigil services will be at 5 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Dr. Keffler was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Canton, Ohio, to Francis and Cecilia Keffler. He married Patricia Mathews at Youngstown, Ohio, in 1952. Dr. Keffler graduated from Marquette University and Holy Cross University. They moved to Lubbock in 1957 and from there to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1983. They moved from Scottsdale to Amarillo in 1991. He was also a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Anthony Keffler and wife, Debra, of Amarillo and Dr. F. Mrs. White was born in Wills Point on April 9, 1913. She was married to B.L. White, who was a Church of Christ minister for congregations in Portland, Ore., and several cities in Texas. Clara lived in the Fort Worth area for the past 43 years, moving to Hereford two years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years; a brother, Bud Whitten of Alabama; and a sister, Opal Tant of San Angelo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Sayre Doxey Cemetery in Sayre with the Rev. Doyle Roark officiating. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga. Mrs. Hare was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Sayre to Joseph and Geraldine Perrin Grady. She was a resident of Amarillo, Texas, for 60 years. Minnie moved to Watonga in 1992 and in 2000, moved to Kingfisher. In the 1970s, she retired from Southwestern Bell, where she was a telephone operator and administrative clerk. She attended Sayre schools and was a member of Buchanan Street Methodist Church in Amarillo and Watonga Methodist Church. She married Uhlan Hare at Sayre on April 26, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; and four sisters. Survivors include three granddaughters, Dana Bessinger of Watonga, Lisa Storm of Kingfisher and Kyndal Roark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six great- grandchildren, Travis Bessinger, Meredith Storm, Jay Bessinger, Nick Storm, Keaton Roark and Ross Roark; a sister, Billye Jo Austin of Anderson, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at noon Tuesday in Travis Avenue Baptist Church sanctuary, where he served as a senior deacon, with Dr. Michael Dean officiating. Members of the Fellowship Sunday school class will serve as pallbearers. Deacons of the church will be honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park by Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Mr. Andrews was born July 21, 1925, in Amarillo and was the younger of two sons born to Addie and Thomas Andrews. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo Junior College prior to joining the Navy during World War II. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's of science degree in nuclear engineering from Southern Methodist University. He retired from General Dynamics, where he had worked for 34 years, in 1990. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue Wood Andrews; two children, Joann Andrews Dragovits, M.D. and husband, John Dragovits, of Richardson and James F. Andrews Jr. and, wife, Bonnie Milne-Andrews of Houston; four grandchildren, Ann, John, James F. III and George; a brother, Thomas L. Andrews Jr. of Pensacola, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
