Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Dr. Christopher Sutton of Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ophelia Kellum Robertson, our beloved mother, "mam-maw," sister, passed away Dec. 3, 2004, at the LBJ Medical Center in Johnson City. She was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Cass County to Charlie and Mittie Sue Kellum. She moved with her family to Amarillo in 1930. On Oct. 1, 1933, she married Jesse "Slick" Robertson. A homemaker for many years, she was later employed by J.J. Newberry, Fedway and the Bed and Bath in Wolflin Square. She and her husband were both charter members of Line Avenue Baptist and Olsen Park Baptist churches. She also was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. In 1992, she moved to Houston and lived with her daughter, Patricia, and son-in-law, Bill, for two years before they moved to a ranch outside Johnson City. She loved life in the Hill Country and especially enjoyed living near her daughter and son and their families. The scripture from the 31st chapter of Proverbs describes her beautifully. She will sorely be missed. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at LBJ Medical Center for their care. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 31, 1982. Survivors include three daughters, Cloie Sutton and husband, Clophas, of Carrollton, Frankie Lane of Farmers Branch and Patricia Timmins and husband, Bill, of Johnson City; a son, Pat Robertson and wife, Anne, of Johnson City; a brother, J.L. Kellum and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo; two sisters, Swan Ward of Houston and Judy Baxter and husband, Eddie, of New Braunfels; and 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom she enjoyed immensely. She loved her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, the Harold and Jean Meredith family of High Point, N.C., who gave her many years of love. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford with the Rev. A.L. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Castro County Memorial Cemetery in Dimmitt by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Sanders was born March 27, 1925, in Altus, Okla.. She was a Hereford resident for 38 years and a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, Garrison Sanders and Roden Sanders, both of Seattle, and the Rev. A.L. Sanders, Larry Sanders and Julius Sanders, all of Hereford; six daughters, Virginia Bassett of Hereford, Joyce Thomas of Dimmitt, Frances Sanders of Morton, Gussie Willis of Chandler, Ariz., Darlene Jackson of Odessa and Stacey Sanders of Japan; 34 grandchildren; and 33 great- grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Roy Wheeler and the Rev. Bob Schroeder, both of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum. Mrs. Heket was born June 28, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Claude and Rosa Spann. She and her parents moved to Borger, where she attended public schools and graduated from Borger High School in 1956. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon. She worked at Sid Stout Ford as head cashier before becoming a full-time homemaker. Rosa Lee was a member of First Baptist Church and Paramount Terrace Christian Church, Texas Gamma Rho Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Tascosa Country Club and the Amarillo Club and was preceptor in Avihk Temple, Daughters of the Nile. Rosa Lee was an adoring and loving wife, mother and friend who cherished her family and friends deeply. Most of all, Rosa Lee loved and cherished her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her father in 2000. Survivors include her husband, Fred; a daughter, Vickie Epps-Heket; her mother; two sisters-in-law, Martha Allison of Borger and Vivian Heket of Amarillo; three nieces, Julie Allison of Amarillo, Brenda Brinkmeyer of Tulsa, Okla., and Barbara Hawryluk of Houston; a nephew, Monte Marshall of St. Charles, Mo.; several great-nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Tom Posey of Memphis and Michael Arndt, pastor of Disciples of Christ, First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kesterson was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Memphis. She married A.G. Kesterson on June 4, 1950, in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 4, 1999, and a son, John Kesterson, on Aug. 29, 2003. Survivors include a son, Tom Kesterson of Borger; a daughter, Mary Woods and husband, Jimmy, of Borger; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shelton was born Oct. 17, 1923, at Claude to Blue Edwin and Edwinna Hollingshead. She married Charles Shelton on Dec. 31, 1948, in Pampa. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wayside Community Church with Kyle Brock and Byron Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon and Happy. Mr. Rogers was born in Guymon, Okla., on Oct. 6, 1933. He graduated from Wayside High School and was a member of the state basketball championship team. He lived in Wayside and was an active member of the community all his life. He was respected and loved by all his friends and neighbors. Mr. Rogers owned and operated his own water well drilling business in Wayside since 1965. He loved square dancing and was a member of Ye Ole Squares in Amarillo. He was a member of the Wayside Community Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Johnson, in 1995; his previous wife, Estelle, on Aug. 4, 2003, and a granddaughter, Kim Watson, in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Carmaleta; five sons, Bruce Scroggins and wife, K'Dawn, of Clovis, N.M., Bill Scroggins and wife, Linda, of Amarillo, Kent Scroggins and wife, Terry, of Wayside, Eddie Stewart and wife, Amy, of Elmore City, Okla., and Patric Stewart and wife, Jacque, of Texarkana, Ark.; five daughters, Kiska Rogers of Enterprise, Ala., Kytrena Tuttle and husband, Ned, of Houston, Leta Murray of Norman, Okla., Lenora Gasper of Ada, Okla., and Leana Mann and husband, Kyle, of Eagle Rock, Mo.; 30 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wait was born Oct. 20, 1947, to Roy and Viola Baylets in Scottsdale, Ariz. She married John Wait on Nov. 15, 1966, in Dimmitt. They were married for 38 years. Survivors include her husband; her children, Gene and Kathy Donnell, John Wait Jr. and Melissa Hacker, all of Amarillo, and Dannettte and Robert Freeman of Portales, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters; a brother and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Hawkins, 92, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Hawkins and the Rev. Jim Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Hawkins was born July 2, 1912, in La Lende. He founded and pastored the Grace Tabernacle. Survivors include a daughter, Cheri Bourne of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Marvin Evans of Los Lunas; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 14 great- great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the family plot of Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hines was born May 12, 1918, in Claremore, Okla. She was a member of First Christian Church. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 6, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- J Heimann CLAYTON, N.M. - J Heimann, 65, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, in Albuquerque. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Heimann was born April 27, 1928, on the family ranch near Hayden to Fred Paul Heimann and Floy Mae Shields Heimann. A lifelong resident of Union County, J attended school in Hayden through the eighth grade and then finished school in Clayton, where he graduated in 1945. He then attended college at West Texas State University in Canyon before returning to the ranch to help his family. J married Owaissa Heimann on June 30, 1979, in Clayton. He was chairman of the Ute Creek Soil and Water Conservation board and was a member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. He served on the Amistad school board and was a charter member of the Hayden Cowboy Club and the Amistad and Harding County fire departments. J was a member of Hayden Baptist Church for most of his life until they closed the church and they transferred their memberships to First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randall Lynn "Randy" Heimann, on Aug. 3, 1983. Survivors include his wife of Bueyeros; three sons, Jay Dee Heimann and wife, Kim, Gene Heimann and wife, Deborah, and Russell Heimann, all of Bueyeros; two daughters, Oweida Franz and husband, Clinton, of Clayton and Kodie Hauser and husband, Lesley, of Texline, Texas; nine grandchildren, Cody J.
