Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with David Veasey of Amarillo Baptist Church officiating. Burial was at 10 a.m. Monday in Jarratt Cemetery in Jacksonville with Dr. Bruce Webb of Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville officiating. Mrs. Allee was born Oct. 20, 1909, in VanZandt County to Lee and Lula Huddleston. She grew up around Jacksonville with nine brothers and sisters. She married Floyd E. Loveday in 1926 and he preceded her in death in 1933. She then married C.T. Allee in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She has outlived her whole family. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Floyd E. Loveday in 1987. Survivors include a son, Berl Loveday and wife, Ines, of Tyler; two daughters, Dorothy Walls and husband, James, of Amarillo and Claudine Mellinger and husband, Wayne, of Jacksonville; and several grandchildren, great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 8, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don L. Owens Don L. Owens, 83, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton with Marlon Sparks of Victory Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Owens was born in Omaha, Neb., on Dec, 16, 1921. He spent the first 19 years of his life in Logan, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in May 1942. He served with the Army Air Corps from July 1942 until November 1945. During that time he met his wife, Glennes Savage. They married in Arnet, Okla., in 1945. They had been married 57 years when she passed away in 2002. They lived in Canadian and Pampa where Mr. Owens worked in grocery stores. In 1963, they moved to Stratford. He sold his grocery store in 1981 and spent eight years as a municipal judge before moving to Amarillo. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Denney of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Flint Wood, Brandon Wood and Amy Wood; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Valenzuela was born in Durango, Mexico. He lived in Amarillo for the last six years and worked for IBP. He moved to Amarillo in 1998 from El Paso. Survivors include his wife, Eva; a son, Esdras Valenzuela of Amarillo; and a daughter, Ruth Valenzuela of El Paso. Mrs. Finley was born April 8, 1939, in San Antonio, the daughter of Samuel Truett and Oma Dee Wiseman. She married Marvin Finley on Nov. 25, 1956, in Wildorado and they were married 48 years. Mrs. Finley worked for the department of agriculture for more than 10 years. Survivors include her husband; a son, Sam Finley and wife, Barbara, of Hereford; two daughters, Sandra Finley of Lubbock and Crystal Smith and husband, Kevin, of Hereford; a sister, Stella Jo Dudley of Big Cabin, Okla.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Arturo Meza, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Gonzales was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Abilene to Adolfo and Isabel Yrigollen. She married Fernando Gonzales Sr. in 1936 in Abilene, and moved to Hereford in 1946 from San Angelo. She worked as a cook at Jim Hill Cafe and Greenhedge Cafe. She also worked as a midwife and nurse's assistant to Dr. Edwards in the San Jose community. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; two daughters, Lorina Estrada and Maria Serrano; a sister, Enriqueta Hernandez; and two brothers, Adolfo Yrigollen and Vincente Yrigollen. Survivors include three sons, Fernando Gonzales Jr. of Greeley, Colo., Raul Gonzales of Dublin and Jose Gonzales of Austin; six daughters, Margaret Gamez, Sara Griego, Yolanda Guerrero, Catherine Celaya, Gloria Arsola and Juanita Gonzales, all of Hereford; three brothers, Manuel, Sostena and Benjamin Yrigollen, all of Hanford, Calif.; 49 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 51 great-great-grandchildren; and 47 great-great-great-grandchildren. Nelson, 83, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Borger with the Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Nelson was born June 8, 1921 in Bangs. He retired after 37 years with Phillips Philblack Plant as an A-1 Welder. Survivors include his wife, Marie; a daughter, Marilyn Reeves of Fritch; three brothers, C.H. Nelson and Bill Nelson, both of Fritch, and Dennis Nelson of Stinnett; a sister, Esther Phiefer of Shreveport, La.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church of Vega with Larry Crabtree, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Wright was born to W.L. "Will" and Bertha Bolton Wright in Clarksville on March 5, 1916. She married A.S. "Pete" Kelly on Dec. 24, 1937, and moved to Vega. She helped him run a gas station for a few years, and then they farmed until his retirement in 1974. At that time they took up golf, which they both enjoyed. She was totally devoted to her family and delighted in her three daughters, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent cooking everyone's favorite dish. She loved to play games, tend flowers, travel and sew. She took bus trips in all of the continental United States. She was an excellent seamstress, and made clothes for herself and her children. She brought a great deal of joy to little girls in the area as she made Barbie clothes, big doll clothes and play dresses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete in 1981; and a daughter, Margaret Kaye Harbin on Nov. 14, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Clifton and husband, Jim, of Mannford, Okla., and Venita Carter and husband, Robert, of Amarillo; a sister, Sarah Hahn of Athens, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Stephanie Harbin of Childress, Shari Murphy and husband, David, of Yukon, Okla., and Julie Brooks and husband, Brad, of Owasso, Okla.; and four great-grandchildren, Myah Murphy, Trey Murphy, Ciara Harbin and Ryan Brooks. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wardlaw was born July 11, 1922, in Breckenridge to John C. and Alice Pedersen Warnix. She had been a Moore County resident for more than 50 years. She worked as a teacher in Dumas for 34 years. Mrs. Wardlaw was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Dumas. She belonged to Delta Kappa Gamma Society, B&PW and Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Wardlaw; a daughter, Helen Burrell; and a sister, Katherine Brazleton. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Purcell of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Jones of Missouri City; a brother, Jack L. Warnix of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Ray Purcell of Dumas, David Purcell of Amarillo, Tiffany Brooks of McKinney and Shawn Burrell of Grand Prairie; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great- granddaughter; and her caregivers, Susan Benge, Becky Gomez, Linda Harper and Irene Garcia. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Stribling and the Rev. Curtis House officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mr. White was born May 25, 1950, in Canyon to Joe Athel White and Mary Rose O'Donald White. He moved to Happy in 1967 and graduated from Happy High School in 1968. He served in the Army from October 1968 to March 1972, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He married Jill Szydloski in Happy on May 23, 1970. He was a paramedic and fireman in Happy and Canyon for a number of years, and was a deputy for Randall County for 10 years. He was a self-employed farmer, and a devoted and loving husband. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Happy. He owned and operated DJW Trucking Inc. He was preceded in death by his father in 1989; his stepmother, Martha White in 1995; his father-in-law, Leo Szydlocki in 1995; and his mother-in-law, Louise Szydloski in 2004. Survivors include his wife; two sons, DeJay and wife, Mandy, of Denton and Max and wife, Brandi, of Happy; his mother, Mary Watson of Crawford, Neb.; two sisters, Debbie Kelly and husband, Wayne, of Chadron, Neb., and Linda Davis of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, DeJay Alexander White of Denton and Brayden and Ashlyn White of Happy.
