Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Shiloh Cathedral of Praise with the Rev. B.F. Roberts Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Jeffery was born in Kilgore and was a member of Shiloh Cathedral of Praise. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Patrick Phillips and wife, Alice, of Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Mary E. Edmonson of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Janie Jeffery of Amarillo; and a host of relatives and friends. The family will be at 1419 N. Jefferson St. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 11, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Ann Chapman Pursley Jo Ann Chapman Pursley, 73, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004. No services will be held. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Pursley was born to Frank S. and Thelma Thompson Chapman on June 27, 1931, in Borger. The family moved to Amarillo in August 1931. Mrs. Pursley graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. She attended the University of Texas and received her degree from West Texas State University. Mrs. Pursley was married to William Culwell in 1959. The marriage ended in divorce. She married V.M. "Budd" Pursley in 1962. He passed away in 1990. Mrs. Pursley was a pioneer in Amarillo television and also worked for KGNC Radio. She was a secretary for George McCarthy, an attorney, for 12 years and was employed at Pioneer Gas Co. from which she retired in 1988. Survivors include her aunt, Aldine Thompson Marshall of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Laurene Mansfield of Amarillo and Debra Giddens and husband, Dallas, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two stepgrandchildren, Brandon Giddens of Casa Grande and Daniel Mansfield of Amarillo; and two cousins, Betty Thompson Riley of Amarillo and Wallace Thompson of Borger and their children and grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Humane Society; Animal Rescue Shelter; or SPCA. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Linda Kay Smith of Forest City, N.C., Martha Penny Clark of Burns Flat, Okla., Nanette White of Wellington and Tinia Adams of Amarillo; two sons, Truman P. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Crowder Funeral Home in Webster. Mrs. McGregor was born Oct. 6, 1914, in Dawson County. She met M.S. "Boney" McGregor at West Texas, and they married in 1938. Vione was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Alturian Club and 55+ Club of Panhandle. She was a homemaker, Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Marvon Raef. Survivors include two sons, Ben of South Houston and Tom of Baytown; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Scott was born June 23, 1934, in Clayton, N.M., to Clyde and Elvina Smith Greer. She married Norville "Scotty" Scott on June 4, 1950, in Clayton. Survivors include a son, Bruce Scott of Dalhart; two daughters, Beth Mackey and Pat Gustin, both of Dalhart; two sisters, Louise Davis of Susanville, Calif., and Ruth Moore of Danville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Throne was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Strong City, Okla. She married Leonard Throne on July 9, 1936, in Shattuck, Okla. Survivors include two daughters, Nadine Bell of Soper, Okla., and Jodi Ray of Childress; two sons, Clifford Throne of Wellington and David Throne of Childress; a sister, Hallie Carey of Cheyenne, Okla.; a brother, Robert Underwood of Winlock, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baxter was born July 5, 1917, in Trego County, the daughter of Harry Dean Rogers and Lucy Mae Hockanson Rogers. She married Francis Guy Baxter on July 18, 1937, at Whitewater. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Jeanne Packard of Wichita and Karen Sue Banister of Hugoton; two sons, Dean Duane Baxter of Amarillo, Texas, and Keith Allan Baxter of Hugoton; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several step-grandchildren. Burial will be in Cave Creek Cemetery by Patterson Greer Funeral Home of Hollis. Mr. Sherrill was born April 16, 1914, in Lone Wolf to William Rufus Sherrill and Cora Emmaline Copelin Sherrill. He married Ruby Withers in October 1932.
