Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with Ron Kohler, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. Mrs. Bates was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Haltom City to C.L. and Mary Flynt. She married Jim Bates on June 14, 1957, in Fort Worth. They were married 47 years. She attended Diamond Hill High School. Barbara was employed at Bell Helicopter for 17 years and was co-owner of Pretend Time Tea Room. Barbara was a lifelong Christian and will be remembered for her strong Christian faith. Her one true passion was for her family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Spikes; and a brother, Charles Flynt. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda Sell and husband, Randy, of Grapevine; a son, Danny Bates and wife, Rachel of Grapevine; a son, Ron Bates of Round Rock; a son, Terry Bates and wife, Pattie, of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Ashley and Allison, both of Amarillo, and Andrea and Chloe, both of Grapevine; a sister, Shirley Beckwith of Fort Worth; and numerous extended family members and friends. The family suggests memorials be to Harrington Cancer Center and BSA Hospice. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Billy Nickell, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Mrs. Bramlett was born Nora Blanche Denney on March 11, 1916, to David Weaver Denney and Alice Wilma Dennie at Camp Springs. She settled in Waco and married her beloved husband, Harless Herman Bramlett on Aug. 8, 1936. With one son, Jerry Harless Bramlett, they moved to Amarillo in June 1947. She was a hard working, loving, and loyal wife and mother and a devout Christian. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her son; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Brown; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Barton was born Dec. 8, 1930, to Buford and Mary Phipps Chandler in Wellington. She married Raymond Barton on June 2, 1949, in Wellington. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jerry Barton of Quail and Joe Barton of Sachse; a daughter, Kristy Barton of Dallas; three sisters, Mary Nell White of Claude, LaDell Popwell of Wellington and Kay White of Richardson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Floydada. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mrs. Perry was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Ranger to Richard and Lydia Graves. While residing in Floydada, Maggie was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and her Study Club. She was an excellent artist, working with oils, water colors and china. She enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tate Jones in June 1978; her second husband, Everett Perry in September 1994; and a daughter, Nancy Carol Jones. Survivors include two sons, Travis Jones and wife, Sue, of Floydada and R.W. "Bill" Jones and wife, Tippie, of Pampa; eight grandchildren, Joe Jones and wife, Ann, Jon and Brenda Jones and Nathan and Connie Johnson (foster son), all of Floydada, Dr. Derrell and Jana Monday (foster son) of Vernon, Rich and Cathy Jones of Amarillo, Barry and Olivia Sims of Canadian, Jim and Julie Smith of Vernon and Drs. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Riley was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Shamrock to George Thomas and Mary Ann Riley. Ed had lived in Wheeler all of his life until they moved to Tuttle, Okla., in 2003. He owned a trucking business in Wheeler. He married Erma Tucker in Wheeler in 1934. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon for 37 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 47 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Mitchell. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob E. Riley of Marshall; two daughters, Nelda Cote of Newport News, Va., and Ann Henderson of Tuttle; a brother, Earl Riley of McLean; three sisters, Minerva Jones of Wheeler, and Wilma Barker and Hannah Chapman, both of Shamrock; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Simmons was born July 2, 1913, southwest of Elkhart. She married Earl Ellwood Simmons on Nov. 24, 1930, in Guymon. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. Mr. Murphy was a 1974 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was a former restaurant manager with Cracker Barrel in Amarillo, Texas, for 10 years. Survivors include a daughter, Riane Murphy of Lincoln; a son, Shaun Murphy of Lincoln; his mother, Jean Murphy of Lincoln; four brothers, Bob of Apollo Beach, Fla., Edward of Florence, S.C., Randall of Toluka Lake, Calif., and Peter of Largo, Fla.; and three sisters, Cheryl Stuchl and Nadine Murphy, both of Lincoln, and Denise Besselievre of Geneva. He was a lifelong Methodist and member of American Legion. Services will be at 7 p.m. today in Valley Creek Church in Flower Mound with the Rev. Robert Bennett and the Rev. Kevin Evans officiating. Arrangements are by Flower Mound Family Funeral Home. Mr. Short was born Aug. 5, 1961, in Amarillo to Clifford and Mary Short. Bobby was a graduate of Caprock High School in Amarillo. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship and then attended Amarillo College and received a degree as a registered respiratory therapist. Bobby loved to help coach baseball with his three sons from T-ball up to high school baseball in Amarillo, Lubbock and Flower Mound, and was a mentor to many children. He was a member of Flower Mound High School baseball booster club and was employed with Children's Medical Center of Dallas in the cardiology department for five years. He was a member of Valley Creek Church in Flower Mound. He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Dale Denton; and his parents-in-law, Charlem and Marilyn Meadows. Survivors include his wife, Rachelle; three sons, Kurry, Kasey and Koby Short; his mother, Mary Denton and husband, Charles, of Amarillo; two sisters, Jacque Morin and husband, David, and Amanda Short, both of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Pam Dallas and husband, Kent, of Corpus Christi; a brother, Dace Meadows and wife, Margie, of Corpus Christi; and several nieces and nephews.
