Wiggs Viola J. Wiggs, 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Wiggs was born and raised in New Mexico and attended Texico High School. She married Melvin Lee Wiggs on July 25, 1935, in Clovis, N.M. He died in July 1988. She moved to Amarillo in 1992. Mrs. Wiggs was a member of Pleasant Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Survivors include three sons, Jimmie Wiggs and Bill Wiggs, both of Amarillo and Brian Wiggs of Portales, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Colwell was born Jan. 19, 1929, to Grady and Ethel Conway Cochran in Winfield, Ala. She married Kenneth Colwell on March 24, 1952, in Mangum, Okla. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Colwell and Larry Colwell, both of Wellington; three brothers, Willard Cochran of Alabama, Bob Cochran of Dodson and Grady Cochran of Wellington; a sister, Helen McDuff of Phoenix; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. A Friona resident for the past eight years, Miss Garcia was a 2003 graduate of Friona High School. Survivors include her parents, Ismael and Anna Garcia of Friona, and grandparents Margarita Cuevas of Los Angeles and Elisa Huisar of Mexico. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 25, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Irene Lois Switzer Rogers WHEELER - Irene Lois Switzer Rogers, 87, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Church of Christ with Dr. Shawn Johnson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Rogers was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Koskonong, Mo., to Alva Benton Switzer and Mary Viola Johnston Switzer. She moved to San Diego during World War II and worked in an aircraft plant, then she moved to San Francisco and worked in the shipyard until she moved to Pampa in 1945. She met and married Lewis Rogers on Dec. 12, 1945, in Pampa. He died in 2000. They moved to Wheeler in 1949, and she was employed by Shamrock Nursing Home and Parkview Hospital in Wheeler. She was a member of Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary and the 54 Study Club. Mrs. Rogers' hobbies were crafts and baking for people who needed her help. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hink of Wheeler; a son, Frank Rogers of Round Rock; a brother, C.H. Switzer of Hobbs, N.M.; two sisters, Mable Adams and Artie Harrington, both of Pampa; six grandchildren; and four great- grandsons.
