Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Braun was born in Sterling City on Nov. 23, 1906, to Daniel Price Allard and Sophia Dove Langdon. She moved to Amarillo in her teens and married Charles Herbert Mixon on Aug. 5, 1922, in Potter County. He preceded her in death in 1959. She later married Alfred E. Braun in 1966 in Escondido, Calif. He preceded her in death in April 1988. She was a homemaker, raising six children, and worked for the Boys Ranch office for eight years. While raising her family, she was a member of Pierce Street Baptist Church, now Second Baptist Church. The house she lived in was across the alley from the church and the Family Life Center now stands there. The whole family attended the church and were active members with the building of the church. She had lived with her daughter, Cherry Lane, for the last 16 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; two sons, Charles and Richard; a daughter, Margaret; and six grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Cherry Lane and Iris Busby, both of Amarillo; a son, Lewis C. Mixon of Denham Springs, La.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great- grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Second Baptist Church, 419 N. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. Perry Hipple, Mr. Chestnut's brother-in-law, officiating. Mr. Chestnut was born April 16, 1941, in Glade, Kan., to Moses Chestnut and Guindola Anderson Chestnut. Mr. Chestnut worked as a welder for 10 years for American Trailer Co. and for four years for Roberts Trucking Co. He worked for the City of Amarillo until 2002 as a contractor. He married Maria "Mary" Elena Benavidez on July 2, 1974. He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father; and stepfather, Lyle Parker. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Peggy Sue Quin and husband, Aldino, of Liberal, Kan., and Billie Jean Smith and husband, Ron, of Fowler, Kan.; a son, David Ray Chestnut and wife, Kim, of Amarillo; his mother, Guindola Chestnut Parker of Wamego, Kan.; three sisters, Ruth Mae Hipple and husband, Perry, of Orange, Calif., Donna Rae McDonald and husband, Wayne, of Grand Prairie and Linda Jean Schuartseger of Bellview, Kan.; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Hunsucker was born April 9, 1916, in Hickory County, Mo. She was retired from the Amarillo Independent School District. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra H. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fresno with Monsignor Joseph Tash of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery in Fresno. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Ford was born Sept. 18, 1919, in Fresno. She graduated from Edison High School in Fresno. She married Ernest Ford in Fresno on Sept. 16, 1951. She retired from the City of Fresno Police Department after many years of loyal service. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ford in August 1998. Survivors include a sister, Mary Kearny of Amarillo; three nieces, Kelly Roberts of Amarillo, Mary Ann Renna of Fresno and Kathy Renna of Bay Area, Calif.; three nephews, Russell Renna, Tim Renna and Dennis Renna, all of Fresno; and many numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Judd was born Jan. 2, 1917, to Isam and Dena McMullin Judd near Lark in Carson County. He came to the Roundup Community of Collingsworth County at age 7. He attended school at Roundup and Aberdeen. Dick married Lavern Grout on Feb. 1, 1935, in Hollis, Okla. He worked as a barber from 1949 until January 2002 and he was also engaged in farming. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2002; five brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 3, 1914, in Leo, to Oliver and Callie Fortenberry. She grew up on the farm east of Happy along with six brothers and sisters. She graduated from Happy High School in 1932 and West Texas Normal College in 1936. She taught school in Chalk and Happy until she retired in 1980. She married S.N. "Moon" Wright on Aug. 17, 1947, in Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; her parents; three brothers, Ed and Joe Fortenberry of Amarillo, and Paul Fortenberry of Friona; and three sisters, Faye Hargrove and Gladys Daugherty, both of California, and Fern Spear of Happy.
