Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Pete Talley of Plum Creek Fellowship officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Maxwell was born in Amarillo to Howard and Josephine Mann. She attended Amarillo High School. She was a very loving mother and a special "Nonnie" to all of her grandchildren. After her long battle with cancer she will now join her loved ones in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, William Russell Stambaugh, Willie "Burt" Maxwell and Matthew Earl Maxwell; a son-in-law, Charles "Buggs" Johnson; and her husband, Wilbert Maxwell. Georgia St. Mrs. Childers attended Linden High School where she was high school sweetheart and valedictorian when she graduated in 1955. She attended business college in Dallas, where she also worked for an insurance company. She married Roy Childers in Amarillo on March 19, 1988. Mrs. Childers worked at Hastings for more than 24 years before she retired. She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie S. Walker in 1997. "Coach" Splawn, 91, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, in Fayetteville, Ga. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Maverick Boys and Girls Club with J.H. Ledbetter and James "Coach" Kile officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Coach Splawn was an adviser and scoutmaster for several years. He received the Life Scout Award in 1945 and became an Eagle Scout in 1946. He was actively involved with the Maverick Club since 1955. He coached football and had several winning teams. Coach was a letter carrier in the downtown business district until he retired in 1972. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Loriece Splawn in 1981. Georgia St. Mrs. Phelan was born Jan. 8, 1923, to Henry and Dicey Selvidge in Duncan, Okla. She married John Phelan on Nov. 22, 1941, in Church of Nazarene in Hedley. Lela lived a life of love and a life pleasing to God. She seldom asked for anything for herself. Instead, she gave of herself to family, friends, neighbors and her church. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be missed terribly. She was a former resident of Amarillo for three years, Panhandle for 17 years and living now in Claude for three years. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 30, 1980; her parents; two brothers, Claude Selvidge and George Selvidge; and a sister, Nadeen Davis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Boren, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa with Masonic rites by Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242 AF&AM. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 22, 1911, in Petrolia to Zeb and Minnie Jackson, the oldest of six children and the only boy. He graduated from White Deer High School and attended Amarillo College, playing football at both schools. He married Ada Victoria Prickett of New Douglas, Ill., on July 6, 1938, in Clayton, Mo. He was an oilfield driller for Huber Corp., retiring in 1973 after 40 years of service. After retirement, he became a very successful consultant in the oil well drilling business. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Borger since 1942. He was a very active Master Mason for more than 50 years and belonged to many Masonic bodies. He was a member of Isom Lodge No. 1242 AF&AM in Borger. He was a member of Borger York Rite, El Paso Scottish Rite, Khiva Shrine in Amarillo and Borger Shrine Club. He was also a member of West Texas York Rite College in Lubbock, Crusader Conclave Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine and Ascension Tabernacle Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest. He was the head of most of the Masonic organizations he belonged to. He was also a 50-year member of Borger Chapter No. 811 Order of the Eastern Star. For his many years of service to the Knight Templar Masonry, he was the first in Borger to be awarded the Excalibur Award in 1995. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Jackson on Jan. 27, 1998; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Loretta "Kay" Leonard and husband, John, of Tyler; a sister, Evelyn Storey of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Feger was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Ringwood, Okla. He had lived in the area since 1961, moving from Enid, Okla. He was a cattleman all of his life and was a member of American Quarter Horse Association, Texas Cattle Feeders Association and National Quarter Horse Association. He owned and operated the Meating Place for 12 years. He attended elementary school in Ringwood and later moved to Enid. He graduated from Enid High School in 1956. He attended Cameron Junior College in Lawton, Okla., on a basketball scholarship. He married Janice Sue Rippy on June 14, 1958. He was employed by Enid Packing Co. until moving to Perryton in 1961. He worked for Jay and Verdie Rippy at Perryton Livestock Auction and also traded cattle until 1978, when he went into business for himself, trading cattle at Feger Cattle Co. He married Sophie Essinger on Oct. 7, 1986, in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Feger; his parents, Lawrence and Myrtle Beardsley; a son, Gregory Feger; six brothers, Donald Wayne, Clifford, Raymond and Raiford Feger and Fred and Bobby Beardsley; and two sisters, Bonita Krager and Donna Jean Morley. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Grace Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmie Reese, interim pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson- Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Yates was born Jan. 12, 1962, in Guymon. She married Patrick Alan Fussell on Aug. 16, 1980. Survivors include her mother, RaeNell Yates of Guymon; a son, Jason Fussell of Guymon; a brother, Kenny Yates of Fairview, Mo.; two sisters, Cyndi Fagan of Weatherford and Terri Overton of Fritch, Texas; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Diabetes Association or Grace Southern Baptist Church and may be sent to the funeral home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
