Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Ross Elims of the Apostolic Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Beckner was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Moran County, N.M., to Benjamin and Nellie Moore Robinson. She lived most of her life in Amarillo. She loved to make dolls, bake, paint and the great outdoors, including gardening and flowers. Survivors include four sons, Joe Reed, Jim Reed and Ben Reed, all of Amarillo, and Bill Reed of Alamagordo, N.M.; two daughters, Lori Howington and Vida Yandell, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Dub Robinson of Amarillo and Frank Robinson of Tucumcari, N.M.; two sisters, Pearl Vaughn of Canyon and Becky Menasco of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Hughes St. Ms. Brewer was born Nov. 17, 1955, in Runnels County. Her parents were Lavonia and Oswald Brewer. She was reared in Amarillo and was baptized at Victory Church. She maintained a strong faith in God her entire life. At the time of her death, she was a member of Church Alive. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1974 and obtained a degree in administrative medical assistance in 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Michael L. Brewer. Survivors include a son, T.J. Jones of Austin; a daughter, Nikki Jones of Amarillo; six brothers, James Thomas of Dallas, Emery Brewer and William Brewer, both of Amarillo, Lee Brewer of Madison, Ala., Ron Brewer of Kirtley and Terry Brewer of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, Saundra K. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Stroud was born and raised in Weatherford, Okla. He married Nell Hume in 1933 in Weatherford. They had been married for 71 years. They moved to Clovis, N.M., in 1933 from Weatherford, where he started a welding supply business. In 1941, they moved to Amarillo from Clovis and started Tex-Air Gas Co. In the late 1950s, after selling Tex-Air, he became a real estate developer. He built and owned the Trade Fair Shopping Center. He was the mayor of Amarillo from 1967 to 1971. He was a former member of the Amarillo Country Club and First Christian Church. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherelle. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Stroud and wife, Carol, and Ernest Stroud Jr., all of Amarillo, and Tim Stroud of Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter, Gaynor Tucker and husband, L. Dean, of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Charles Culp Jr. of Austin, Cyndi Bloom of Phoenix, Kimberly Rossan and Michael Stroud, both of Dallas, Greg Stroud of Amarillo and Dustin Tucker of New York City; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Georgia St. Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Gainesville to Charles L. and Tish Smith. She moved to Amarillo in 1920. Mrs. Walker graduated from Amarillo High School in 1935. She married Hoyt Walker on July 20, 1941. They were married for 63 years before his death on July 8, 2004. She was employed by the family business, Smith and Sons, Inc., for 14 years. She and her husband then opened Walker T.V. and Appliance in 1974, where she worked until she retired in 1978. In addition to being very involved in the family business, she was a homemaker, and her favorite job of all was that of grandmother to her grandchildren, Amber and Tray. Mrs. Walker was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and 45 Uppers dance club. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Terry Walker in 1980; and two brothers, Lewis Smith and Elmer Smith. Mr. Renfro was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Hereford. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated from UCLA with a degree in design. Gil worked as an interior designer. He was very involved in the Golden Nail Awards for more than 20 years, enjoyed flying and was a very devoted son. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. Biddy, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, in Altus, Okla. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stratford Cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Biddy was born Nov. 3, 1911, in Blair, Okla. He was the first of four children born to Dora and Albert Biddy. Ben and his family moved to Stratford in April of 1942. Ben worked on the ranch of WF Wigginton for a few years and then worked for King Equipment, where he retired at the age of 65. After the death of his first wife, Virgie Isham Biddy, Ben married Opal Collins Biddy. Ben was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the 1009 Masonic Lodge of Dumas for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; a brother, Ray Biddy; two sisters, Oleta Hall and Frances Vann; and two sons, Benny R. Biddy and Bruce A. Biddy. Survivors include a son, Glen O. Biddy and wife, Cleta, of Altus; a daughter, Idell Culberson and husband, Gayle, of Karvel, Colo.; three grandsons, Barry Biddy, Steve Biddy and Bryan Biddy; five granddaughters, Connie Barnes, Tammy Beaty, Connie Biddy, Kari Byrne and Charlotte Hardcastle; 12 great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, which include George Harding of Stratford, JoWayne Summerour and Lori Funk of Dalhart; and numerous friends. Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Shawnee, Okla., to Clay and Erma Bennett Thomas. He married Ruby Helen Frost on Nov. 2, 1947, in Quanah. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Lamesa Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Branon Funeral Home. Mr. Reid was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Clarendon to Lloyd and Ethel Hinkle Reid. He graduated from Goodnight High School in 1945. He graduated from Texas Tech College in 1949 with a bachelor of science degree in animal husbandry. He was active in Student Council, Aggie Club and Block & Bridle while at Tech. An Army sergeant in the Korean conflict, he served in Germany and Fort Louis, Wash., until September 1952. Bill married Alice Joy Barron on Sept. 27, 1952. A farmer in Dawson County for 52 years, Bill was an active member of the community. He served on the Lamesa school board for nine years. He was recognized with the Dawson County 4-H Spur award. As an active member of Texas Farm Bureau since 1963, Bill served on the Dawson County board and at the state level for eight years and was state vice president and secretary- treasurer. He was a member of the Lamesa Cotton Growers and National Cotton Council and the Cotton Council International. In 1997, Bill received the State Farm Pioneer Award for his outstanding leadership. The family would like to thank Elizabeth Middleton, Dr. Floyd Pirtle, the MICU staff at UMC and all the friends and family who supported the family through his illness.
