Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Texarkana, Ark. She was named "Miss Texarkana" in 1929. She married Harold Smith on March 1, 1936. Gladys always remained a humble person and Harold always called her "his sweetheart." She was always a wonderful Christian, wife and mother. Her husband, who ran Hub Clothiers as well as being involved in the community, always maintained that there was no way he could have done what he did without the support of a praying and caring wife. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two children, Bonnie Elizabeth Cox and husband, Bill, of Greeley, Colo., and Howard Smith and wife, Carol, of Amarillo; two grandsons, Harold Smith and wife, Shelby, of Plano and Scott Smith of Waco; and a great- granddaughter, Kate Elizabeth Smith of Plano. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Kurtis Spidel, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, and David Gant officiating. There will also be a memorial service conducted by the Elks Lodge at a later date in Creede. Mr. Gant was born June 24, 1939, in Hill County. He married his wife, Evelyn, in October 1991. Don worked as an engineer for IBM for more than 35 years. In 1998, he and his wife moved to Creede. He belonged to the Elks Lodge in Creede, was a member of the Trout Unlimited Club and served in the Texas National Guard. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jason Gant and wife, Gina, and Justin Gant and wife, Kara, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Sedonia Sipes and husband, Mark, of Murphysboro, Ill.; his father, Harley Gant of Whitney; a brother, Steve Gant of Peoria; and three grandchildren, Jagi, Harley and Hudson. Interstate 40. Mrs. Foust was born April 25, 1913, in Uvalde County to Cyrus and Bernice Simpson. She was a nurse for 16 years and was also a professional artist. Survivors include a son, Charles M. Mr. Keeney was born Nov. 19, 1917, in Ida Belle, Okla., to Thomas Louis and Doxie Keeney. Mr. Keeney spent the majority of his working life as a professional baker, having owned Keeney Bakery in Dumas. He also worked for Amarillo Country Club. He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Mary Lou Keeney, on Dec. 6, 1999. Survivors include four sons, Keith Keeney and wife, Dorothy, of Ennis, Ken Keeney of Lubbock, Ron Keeney and wife, Judy, of Granbury and Rod Keeney of Amarillo; a sister, Thursie Sanders of Bowie; seven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Sunray Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Hilton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Brown Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Felder was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Hedley to Melvin and Esther Monroe. She married W.H. "Dub" Felder in Plainview on Sept. 6, 1952, and they were married 52 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sunray. Dub and JoAnn moved to Sunray in 1958, and have resided in Moore County since that time. JoAnn valued the many friendships she made during her 14 years of employment at Thriftway Foodliner in Sunray. She was forced to retire in 1999 due to health reasons. She was a loving wife and mother and a special "MeeMaw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed for her tender hugs and her ability to make you smile. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Gray was born April 9, 1921, in Gray, Okla. He had lived in Fritch for 37 years, moving here from Borger. He was a stillman helper at Phillips Petroleum. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Vivian Legate on Sept. 13, 1941, in Cordell, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother; a daughter, Betty Porter; a sister; and a grandson, Michael Gray. Survivors include two sons, O.L. Gray Jr. and Terry Gray and wife, Julie, of Fritch; two brothers, C.O. Gray of Fritch and Clifton Gray of Peckom, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hanes was born Aug. 18, 1933, to Charles Patrick and Annie Mae Herndon. She was a member of Trinity Church in McLean. She was a dedicated employee of C&H Supply Inc., of McLean for 16 years. She loved her customers and co- workers as they did her. Nothing pleased her more than the accomplishments of her grandchildren. She was the best friend of her children, and will be missed by everyone. On Jan. 18, 1947, she married Gus A. "Rusty" Swanson. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, pets and especially her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Russel Swanson. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada by Moore Rose White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mrs. Cardinal was born to John W. and Stella Edwards Smith. When she was 17 months old, her father died. Her mother remarried G.R. May. Polly graduated from Floydada High School in 1935. In 1939, she graduated from Texas Women's University in Denton. She married Fred A. Cardinal on Oct. 12, 1941, in Floydada. In 2001, the Cardinals moved from Floydada to Lubbock. She was employed as a teacher for more than 30 years at Floydada High School. She was a cheerleading sponsor for numerous years and a senior class sponsor. She was a member of Eastern Star, DAR and First United Methodist Church in Floydada. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Edwards Smith, W.B. May and George Reid May II. Mrs. Kemp was born Nov. 7, 1909, in Erath County near Stephenville to William Avery and Lamora Huckabee. She attended Tarleton State College, thereafter attending North Texas State at Denton. She taught school in Tarrant, Mason and Hutchinson Counties. She was a Christian and participated in church activities everywhere she made home. Parent-Teachers interest kept her involved in the education of children, where she held various offices in the work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Kemp; a son, Thomas Raiford Kemp; and a sister, Claudia Maxey. Survivors include a sister, Loquet Van Winkle of Crowley; a daughter-in-law, Hattie L.
