Leo Wiley M. Leo Wiley, 78, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Gaylon Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with military rites by D.A.V. Chapter 26 and Masonic Lodge No. 1239. Mr. Wiley was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Lakeview in Hall County. He was a veteran in the Army, serving from January 1945 until October 1946. He served overseas in the Philippines and Japan. He had been an examiner for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1985. He was a member of South Lawn Baptist Church. He was a member of the Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Khiva Temple of the Shrine. In 1981, Leo married Joy Lockhart of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his mother; his father; five brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his wife; a son, Preston Wiley and wife, Cherilyn, of Pampa; three stepgrandchildren, Jay K. Lockhart and wife, Frankie, and Julie Lockhart Shannon and husband, David, all of Plano, and Paul Scott Lockhart and wife, Mary, of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Troy Wiley and wife, Margaret, of Amarillo and Gaylon Wiley and wife, Betty, of Lebanon, Tenn.; two grandchildren; five stepgranddaughters; and a stepgreat-granddaughter. Georgia St. Mrs. Woods was born in Erick, Okla., on April 5, 1920, to Ira and Jewel Cornelison. She graduated from Sayre High School in Sayre, Okla., and married Harley G. Woods in 1938.Mrs. Woods was in banking in Amarillo before moving to Long Beach, Calif., in 1957. She retired from McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in 1985 and moved back to Amarillo. She was a Christian. "Mimmy" loved her family and friends very much, and everyone misses her deeply. Special thanks to everyone on the eighth floor of BSA Hospital and Dr. James Bryan who worked to make Mrs. Woods comfortable. Mother A mother's love is sometimes best for reasons I can't explain. She always knows when I hurt and how to ease the pain. Sometimes I take her for granted, because she has been there for so many years. But when I need someone to love, she's there to dry my tears. Following the service will be a reception at 3011 S. Travis St. Mrs. Anchicks, the only child of Nell and Charles Lloyd, was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Bremond. After completing school in Bremond, Jane attended Baylor University and Sam Houston State University, studying criminal psychology. After college, she taught school, mostly fifth grade English, in Robertson County. During World War II, she served on the draft board. As a young woman, Jane took a cruise to Cuba, beginning a lifelong love of travel. After World War II, she worked in the family business, Charles Lloyd Drug, in Bremond. She married Carl Sommer Anchicks on Aug. 25, 1953, at the home of her aunt and uncle, Lucy and Clarence Maris, in Franklin. Jane and "Chick" made their home in Bremond and Calvert. She taught school in Hearne until her retirement in 1979. Jane moved to Amarillo in 1982, where she resided and flourished, known and loved as "Aunt Jane" by so many. Jane's warmth and genuine love of people and life drew a large circle of loving friends and family around her. She is much loved and greatly missed. The family deeply thanks Linda Strokes and Diane Farnsworth of Odyssey Hospice for their loving care of Jane at the end of her life. She was preceded in death by her father in 1943; her mother in 1953; her beloved husband in 1981; and two nieces, Jeanne Price Whittenburg and Elizabeth Price. Survivors include three cousins, Nancy Kinzer and Cynthia White Kinzer and husband, John, all of Houston, and Tracey Kinzer Brisbin, husband, Shane, and daughter, Jane Marie, all of San Francisco; two nephews, W.L. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. McKillip was born July 31, 1912, on the Masterson Ranch, north of Amarillo, to Jimmie and Lonnie Rodgers. She married Ibbie McKillip in November 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Fannie was very proud of her more than 32 years of service to Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and thoroughly enjoyed her retirement time. She was a loyal member of San Jacinto Methodist Church, the UMW, Pioneers of SBC and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Andy Rodgers and Edward Lee Rodgers; and a nephew, Fred Rodgers. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Boxwell Brothers Chapel of Claude. Mrs. Bowles was born Jan. 27, 1972, in Warren, Pa., to Wayne and Kathy Blodgett. The family moved to Claude in November 1979. She graduated from Claude High School in 1990. She defeated cancer in 1991 and graduated from West Texas A&M University in May 1997 with a degree in political science. She worked for Diamond Shamrock, The Claude News and Xcel Energy. On Nov. 29, 1997, she married Christopher Dwayne Bowles. Their first "miracle" child, Catherine Marie, was born Oct. 27, 1998, and their second "miracle," Christopher David, arrived on April 30, 2000. Joan was a faithful member of Claude United Methodist Church. She was a member of Beta Eta Psi Sorority, Armstrong County Medical Board, Claude Alumni Association, American Cancer Society and a "Buncko Belle." She served as chairman of the Armstrong County Republican Party and was a youth leader at her church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Catherine Huber and Mindy and Louise Blodgett. Shannon Browning, 58, of Borger went to sleep on Earth and woke up in heaven last Thursday morning. Shannon lived in Borger and celebrated his 39th wedding anniversary with his soulmate, Donna Jean Rogers Browning, on Nov. 19, 2004. He was born in Vinita, Okla., to Milo and Laura Browning. Shannon was an employee of Agrium for 35 years, retiring in March 2004. He was an instrument technician, radiation safety officer and a member of the Emergency Response Team. He served his company on various teams and boards during employment. Shannon was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, where he used his God-given gifts of encouragement and unconditional love in the men's Monday night prayer group. The family wishes to thank all of their friends and Shannon and Donna's church family for their prayers, visits and calls. The outpouring of support and love shown to our family will never be forgotten. God bless you! He wasn't perfect, just another sinner saved by grace and loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his father on April 14, 2001. Amos and his family came to Briscoe County in 1911, and he had been involved in farming most of his life. He married Ethel White on Sept. 5, 1932, in Altus, Okla. They lived in Tulia for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 5, 1966; his parents; and seven brothers. Burial will be in God's Acre Cemetery on the Perschbacher Ranch in Hayden by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Perschbacher was born Dec. 29, 1924, north of Amistad to Joe Deinken and Pearl Craig Deinken. A lifelong resident of Union County, Ida Mae attended school in Amistad until the 11th grade and then graduated from Clayton High School in 1942. She attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces and then returned to Amistad, where she taught in the Amistad schools for a few years until she married Edward Hank "Kelly" Perschbacher on Dec. 5, 1947, in Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 17, 1985; her parents; a son, Dee Perschbacher on Dec. 21, 2003; a sister, Katie Wright; and a brother, Albert Deinken.
