Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Phil Borden officiating. Mr. Fowler, known to everyone as Paul, was born and lived all of his life in Amarillo. He attended Caprock High School, where he was an honor student, Amarillo College and Texas Computer Institute. Paul loved his family and friends and was always willing to help anyone. He was loved by all who got to know him. Paul was a very special man, brother, uncle and son. He was preceded in death by a brother, Justin Paul Fowler; and a nephew, Chasten Paul Fowler. Survivors include his parents, Gene Paul and Vickie Sue Fowler of Amarillo; a sister, Shelley Lynn Fowler of Amarillo; his grandmother, Betty Main of Amarillo; and niece, Joy Lynn Fowler of Amarillo. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Friday in Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Bennett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. LaFavers was born April 21, 1943, in Amarillo to Howard James and Marcia Nance Wilson. She worked as a deputy sheriff for Potter County for 13 years. She also worked as a social worker for 13 years for Potter County. She belonged to Potter County Deputy Sheriff's Association, FOP #54, and Palo Duro Alumni Association. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Robin Hunt of Lewisville, Sherree Bennett of Hurst and Kristina Johnston of Amarillo; a sister, Barbara Higdon of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Jacob Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Blake Johnston and Mackenzie Johnston; a nephew; two nieces; and two great-nieces. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Richerson was the son of Cecil and Hazel Richerson of Wheeler. She attended a women's university in Japan, majoring in business. Mrs. Donelson was born June 26, 1940, in McAlester, Okla. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Billy; two sons, David Brown of Chino, Calif., and James Brown of Arlington; two daughters, Diana Sisk of Mishauta, Ind., and Hazel Chandler of Monroe, La.; and a sister, Vachel Nelson of California. Mrs. Sloss was born March 1, 1932, in Wainwright, Okla. She loved to quilt, fish and garden. Survivors include two sons, Steven Sloss of Quanah and Chris Sloss of Childress; and two daughters, Charlotte Shoffner and Jannie Tipton, both of Childress; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 24, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sylvia Ogle DALHART - Sylvia Ogle, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in Littleton, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Rodney Weatherly, pastor, and Clifford Dane, minister to senior adults, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Ogle was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Union County, N.M., to Emmitt Rivers Newlon and Mary Adeline (McKay) Newlon. She and James Ogle were married in 1943 in First Baptist Church in Dalhart. In 1955, Sylvia opened a photography studio in her home. This was something she enjoyed and could do at home. She had worked with Flossie Rhodes for a time at the Rita Blanca Studio. With two small daughters, Vicki Lynn and Mary Sue, she was able to be at home when the girls got home from school. In August 1978, she added a color lab, Dalhart's first. Sylvia hired students from high school job training classes to help her. She took portraits, pictures of sporting events, school functions, livestock shows and weddings over a wide area around Dalhart. She was one of the first women to serve as president of Panhandle Photographers Association. The owner and manager of Sylvia Ogle's Studio, Sylvia retired in October 1997, after 42 years in the business. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1989; her parents; a sister, Birdie Bell Newlon; and a brother, Herbert Newlon. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Thompson and husband, Gary, of Littleton and Mary Sue Alexander and husband, Hugh, of Denver; a brother, Carl Newlon of Sedan, N.M.; a sister, Nan Herber of Texline; a granddaughter, Kelsey Thompson of Austin; and a grandson, Houston Thompson of Boulder, Colo. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Logan Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Reid was born May 7, 1908, in Diamond, Mo. He was a member of Logan United Methodist Church. Before his illness, he was active in the Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Tucumcari. He was a retired painting contractor. For many years he was a school bus driver for Logan Public Schools. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Leah Reid, in 1999; and a daughter, Jenny Smith, in 1989. Survivors include a son, Bob Reid and wife, Elaine, of Dickinson, Texas; nine grandchildren including T.J. Smith of Logan; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Clark, 78, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Cherokee Baptist Church in Cherokee with Jim Sutherland and Tom Cooksey officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Cemetery by Clark Wilkinson Funeral Service. Mr. Clark was born Jan. 25, 1927, near Aline. He married Mary Lou Donaway in Abilene on July 2, 1955. Survivors include seven nephews. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steven Shore and the Rev. Ray Riddle officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Scharbauer was born March 9, 1931, to Fred Turner Jr. and Juliette Miller Turner in Midland County. In 1948, she graduated from Midland High School. In the summer of 1948 she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. From the fall of 1948 until the spring of 1949, she attended Christian College in Columbus, Mo. On Aug. 27, 1949, she married Clarence Scharbauer Jr. Dorothy was a faithful Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Her other memberships included National Society Magna Charta Dames, Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Junior League of Midland. Dorothy was a very giving person and her philanthropy was well known throughout West Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Clarence Scharbauer III and wife, Kerry, and Douglas Scharbauer and wife, Karen, all of Midland, and Chris Scharbauer and wife, LaVonne, of Amarillo; a daughter, Pamela Ruth Scharbauer of Palm Springs, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren, Charlotte Scharbauer French and husband, Kirk, Kelly Katherine Scharbauer, Douglas Scharbauer Jr. and wife, Mauri, Sarah Anne Scharbauer, Daniel Charles Scharbauer, Christen Scharbauer, Meghan Scharbauer, John Christian Scharbauer, Audra Scharbauer and Rachelle Clare Scharbauer.
