Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church with the Rev. Pat Carathers officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Ramos was born in Sinton on Sept. 8, 1945. He moved to Friona where he worked as a farmer for several years. He met and married Susie Samaniego on Nov. 15, 1964. After marriage they moved to Amarillo. Shortly after, Natie was drafted into the Army, and they moved to Seattle for training and were stationed there for a year. They returned to Amarillo to reside and within a year he was sent to Vietnam to serve his country. He was there for a year. He served two years in the Army and eight years in active reserves. He was a sergeant in the 1st Cavalry Division. He worked in the linen field for several years and then started his own successful linen business, R&R Linen in 1989, where he was currently self- employed and took lots of pride in his work. He was a member of St. Hyacinth's Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool and spending time with his wife, daughter and especially his granddaughters and all family. Family was always important to him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when he could. He was a compassionate husband, the best dad, awesome grandpa, great brother, wonderful father-in-law, excellent uncle and caring friend. Natie was a very special and one-of-a-kind man. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejos and Neives Ramos; a sister, Maria Vega; and a brother, P.L. Martinez. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Lou Ramos Engle and husband, Kenneth, of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Kiersten and Chassidy Engle, both of Amarillo; and his siblings, Juan Ramos, Ernesto Ramos and Alejos Ramos Jr., all of Amarillo, Minnie Ozuna of Port Lavaca and Blaza Gonzales of Sinton. Mr. Fishburn married Dewanda Moore on May 16, 1942, in Wichita, Kan. He was owner of Best Concessions and a local lock and safe service. He was preceded in death by Rolly Dean Fishburn II in 1982. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Randall Ator, senior pastor of Plum Creek Fellowship, officiating. Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in Plum Creek Fellowship. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Garrido was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and moved to California in 1975. He moved to Amarillo with his family in 1977. He was a 1992 graduate of Caprock High School. He married Melody Rene Gossett on Nov. 12, 1994, in Amarillo. He worked in management for Pizza Hut in Amarillo for more than 12 years. For the past two years he was a stay at home dad and husband, taking care of his two sons. John was an avid outdoorsman and a great cook. He loved to hunt, fish, cycle and loved archery. He was a member of Plum Creek Fellowship. He graduated from Canyon High School in 2003 and enlisted in the Army on July 22, 2003. He completed his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., and was assigned overseas to Camp Casey, South Korea, from November 2003 to November 2004. He received numerous awards while in the military. Upon his return from Korea, he was assigned to Fort Hood with the 4th Infantry Division Bravo Co. 1st Battalion 66 Armor. He had recently been promoted to specialist E4 and was waiting for deployment overseas to Iraq. He was a member of First Baptist Church. She had lived in the area since 1963, moving from Elkhart, Kan. She married Dale Franklin Harmon on April 7, 1952, in Chase. She was a homemaker. She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader and Red Cross volunteer. She held offices in AARP, Senior Citizens and Widowed Persons. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Wood retired in 1980 after 37 years as a lab technician for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of Ham Radio Operators Club. Franklin, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Bunch and Pete Reyna officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Franklin was born April 3, 1914, in Turkey, Texas, to William B. and Ellen Franklin. His family moved to Amherst, Texas, where he graduated from Amherst High School in 1931. Adventure called, and at the age of 20, he joined a group of men and went to Honduras, Central America, looking for gold. Riches eluded the group, so returning to Amherst, he was fortunate to get several part-time jobs. He worked as a funeral director, theater manager, and meter reader for the city. He married Dorothy Loree Humphreys on Feb. 16, 1938, in Lubbock, Texas. In 1942, he moved to Clovis as manager and later owner of the Sunshine Theatre. During World War II, he was a member of the State Guard. Selling the Sunshine, he built the La Fonda Drive-In in 1952 and purchased the Yucca Drive-In. In 1958, he built the Comet Drive-In on West Seventh Street. In 1979, he sold the theaters and retired. He still had a valid Texas Funeral Directors License, so Steed Todd Funeral Home asked him to work part time, just to keep active. He was a member of West 21st Street Church of Christ, serving as a deacon for several years. He was a member of Lions Club, joining the Noonday Club in 1942. In his 62 years of service, he held all the club offices up to district governor. Loyd had a dedicated, leadership interest in New Mexico Eye Bank and served many years as chairman. He was exalted ruler of Elks Club in 1960. He and several other community leaders organized the Committee of Fifty working on close relations with Cannon Air Force Base, and he served as chairman several times through the years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, George and wife, Diana, of Clovis and Kerry and wife, Marsha, of Denver; a daughter, Paula Churchman and husband, Ray, of Amarillo; a sister, Violet Hennington of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In 1948, she graduated from Midland High School. In the summer of 1948, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. From the fall of 1948 until the spring of 1949, she attended Christian College in Columbus, Mo. On Aug. 27, 1949, she married Clarence Scharbauer Jr. Dorothy was a faithful Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Her other memberships included National Society Magna Charta Dames, Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Junior League of Midland. Dorothy was a very giving person and her philanthropy was well known throughout West Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Fredda Turner Durham. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Clarence Scharbauer III and wife, Kerry, and Douglas Scharbauer and wife, Karen, all of Midland, and Chris Scharbauer and wife, LaVonne, of Amarillo; a daughter, Pamela Ruth Scharbauer of Palm Springs, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren, Charlotte Scharbauer French and husband, Kirk, Kelly Katherine Scharbauer, Douglas Scharbauer Jr. and wife, Mauri, Sarah Anne Scharbauer, Daniel Charles Scharbauer, Christen Scharbauer, Meghan Scharbauer, John Christian Scharbauer, Audra Scharbauer and Rachelle Clare Scharbauer. The family suggests memorials be to Museum of the Southwest, 1705 W. Missouri St., Midland, TX 79701; or Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702; or a favorite charity.
