Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Bev Gambrel of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Hobart was born in Cane Hill, Ark., on March 19, 1911. She has been a resident of Amarillo since 1936. She was preceded in death by two husbands, P.C. Pollard in 1975 and George W. Hobart in 2003; and a grandson, Gary Hester in 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Mickie Hester of Amarillo and Nancy Hoddenpyle of Wade, Okla.; a son, Jimmy Porter Pollard of Amarillo; a sister, Neva Jean Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 26, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Trevor Wade Burrell Trevor Wade Burrell, 19, of Canyon died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Canyon with the Rev. David Lowrie, pastor, and Ricky Griffin, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery with Terry Callis, chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Burrell was born Feb. 27, 1985, in Canyon. He graduated from Canyon High School in 2003 and enlisted in the Army on July 22, 2003. He completed his basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., and was assigned overseas to Camp Casey, South Korea, from November 2003 to November 2004. He received numerous awards while in the military. Upon his return from Korea, he was assigned to Fort Hood with the 4th Infantry Division Bravo Co. 1st Battalion 66 Armor. He had recently been promoted to specialist E4 and was waiting for deployment overseas to Iraq. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Tina Short and husband, Roger, of Canyon; his father, Wayne Burrell and wife, Janet, of Dalhart; a sister Shirece Burrell of Lubbock; three stepsisters, Alyssa Short and Alyssen Short, both of Canyon, and April Geistman of Victoria; a stepbrother, J. W. Geistman of Victoria; and his grandparents, Jerry and Reacie Simpson of Skellytown, Coy and Shirley Burrell of Clovis, N.M., Loyd and Nell Short of Canyon, Lin Drennan of Borger and Don and Lonna Dorsey of McLean. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton with the Rev. Doug Dubose of Pampa officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mrs. Hash was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Durant, Okla. She married her husband of 70 years, Melvin E. "Slim" Hash, on Dec. 23, 1934, in Durant. Survivors include her husband; a son, James M. "Jim" Hash of Canadian; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch St., Canadian, TX 79014. Mrs. Lucero was born Aug. 26, 1914, in Channing. She married Fred Lucero on Dec. 31, 1933, in Channing. Services with rites by Order of the Eastern Star will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with Sharon Alexander of Memphis officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Watt was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Donley County near Hedley. She lived in the Hedley area most of her life. She married Fred Akers Watt in July 1969 in Hedley. She was a homemaker and had a degree in journalism. She had worked as a journalist and as a certified nurse's aide. She was a member of Childress Order of the Eastern Star, Clarendon Rebekah Lodge and Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hedley. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Su-San Couch and Lori Guerra, both of Memphis; four sons, Leon Couch, Keith Watt and Guy Watt, all of Hedley, and Thunder Denton of Houston; two brothers, Leonard Mullins of Fritch and William Mullins of Springfield, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren. Ms. Herod was born March 28, 1914, in Loyal, Okla. She taught English and history in the Amarillo Public School System for 34 years. Prior to her retirement, Jerry was the supervisor of the English department at David Crockett Middle School.
