Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Coulter Road Baptist Church with Ron Whitt, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Cobb was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Amarillo to Edgar and Adell Pearl Armstrong. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as a bookkeeper and in tax preparation, owning Leta Mae Cobb and Associates for 15 years. She was married to Charles Alvin Lee Jr. from 1941 to 1965. She then married Harold T. Cobb in 1971 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Cobb was a lifelong member of Coulter Road Baptist Church, and also was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Owensboro, Ky. Survivors include two sons, Leslie Lee of Hurst and David Lee of Pampa; a daughter, Lynna Campbell of Amarillo; two brothers, Lee Armstrong and Roy Armstrong, both of Amarillo; a sister, Thelma Sauders of Gilbertsville, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Graham Harvey and the Rev. Eddy Hooker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Harvey was born in Amarillo on Sept. 26, 1949. He attended Palo Duro High School and Draughon's Business College. He loved his music, traveling and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He was married to his wife and best friend, Olivia Harvey, for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Harvey; a sister, Elizabeth Wheeler; and two brothers, Jerry F. Harvey and Richard Harvey. He and his wife, Lorraine, were faithful donators to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Dixon was born near Calumet, Okla. She lived at a number of places in Oklahoma. She received as BS degree from Southwestern State Teachers College and a master's of education from Oklahoma University. She married Raymond Dixon in 1950. Mrs. Dixon was an elementary teacher in Oklahoma for 34 years, the last 23 in Blackwell, Okla., where she retired in 1979. Mrs. Dixon came to Amarillo in 1988. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994. Survivors include a son, Ray Dixon of Amarillo; a daughter, Alice Lawson of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Winifred Reed of Manhattan, Kan.; and three grandsons. Bell St. Mr. Yocum was married 52 years to Betty Dugger. He served for 20 years in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mrs. Angel was born July 19, 1914, in Lelia Lake to William and Mary Elizabeth Bullard. She married Wayland Angel at Lelia Lake on Jan. 20, 1935. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1987. She graduated from high school at Lelia Lake in 1932, and they moved to Randall County in 1941, where they farmed and ranched. She loved to oil paint and was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Guilbert of Amarillo; two sons, Clifford Angel and Kenneth Angel, both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Parker was born Nov. 13, 1951, in Waco, Texas, to the Rev. Jack and Margaret Jo Parker. He graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas. He came to Guthrie 15 years ago from Amarillo. He was employed as a computer technician the past five years for Order-Matic Co. of Oklahoma City, which services Sonic businesses. He also had a karaoke business in the Logan County area for seven years. He married Virga Jan Allen on April 4, 1998, in Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Judy Parker. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Jo Parker Wilson of Longview, Texas; a brother, Jerry Parker of Amarillo; four children, Michael Parker and Michelle Parker, both of Amarillo, D.J. Mrs. Bratcher was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Yoakum County. She married Fletcher M. Bratcher on Oct. 2, 1933, in Lamesa. Jolley, 99, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Rodney Weatherly, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Jolley was born June 25, 1905, in Columbus, Ohio, to Clayton B. and Ethel "Mary" King Jolley. His family moved to Pratt, Kan., in 1910, where he completed his education and worked in the surrounding area for the next 16 years. He married Frieda Audrey Simpson on Dec. 24, 1926, in Bucklin, Kan. In 1931, they moved to Dalhart and established Dalhart Poultry and Egg. Later, he renamed his business Dalhart Farmers Exchange. Mr. Foster worked with Allyn Finch to organize the first XIT Rodeo, where he served as past director from 1949 to 1950. F.L. was pegged the King of the XIT Concessions. In 1996, after his 60th year of the XIT Celebration, F.L. retired. He was the 56th annual XIT Marshal in 1992, and was again for the 60th annual event. First Baptist Church became home for Foster and Frieda in the early 1940s. They served in various capacities in the church over the years. Foster and a few of his friends organized the XIT Rangers Club and he served as president of the Rangers for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Gene Jolley; his parents; two grandsons, Curtis Jolley and Colt Cluck; a brother, Berniel Holley; and a sister, Marie Fleming. Survivors include a daughter, Merri Davis and husband, Doug, of Dalhart; five grandchildren, Jim Bob Matthews and wife, Sharon, and Todd Matthews, all of Dalhart, Gene Allen Jolley and wife, Vicky, of Montrose, Colo., Mike Jolley and wife, Janice, of Spring and Mary Howell of Coppell; and nine great- grandchildren. She came to Plainview in 1980 from Garden City, Kan. She married Bill LaFont on Dec. 27, 1984. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father; and a daughter, Heather Steffe. Amarillo Globe-News, March 3, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred Sanford Covey Sr. WELLINGTON - Fred Sanford Covey Sr., 79, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Addington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Covey was born Nov. 16, 1925, in the Arlie community of Childress County, to Rubin Avril Covey and Della Pearl Collins Covey. He attended school at Arlie, Dodsonville and Wellington, where he lettered in football for three years. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1944 and was a nose gunner on a B-17 bomber plane. He served as a sergeant in the 8th Air Force while stationed in England. On Aug. 23, 1945, Fred married Ima Odessa Camp in Wellington. They were married for 59 years. Fred was a Christian and a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was an active member of Carter Sunday School Class, and served on the board of trustees and the official board of the church. He also served as chairman of the board of Tri-County Co-op Gin. Fred loved farming and history, especially history about World War II and airplanes, and his hobby was fishing. He was known for being a very efficient and effective farmer. He will be remembered for being a kind, sensitive, gentle-spirited man, and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, James Covey. Survivors include his wife; a son, Fred Sanford Covey Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Wellington; two daughters, Leslie Moore of Lubbock and Kelly Cummings and husband, Mike, of Wellington; a sister, Lucille Motsenbocker of Wellington; three brothers, Winford Covey of Sweetwater, R.A.
