Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs, Ark. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Allman was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Hot Springs. He served in the Navy during World War II and then received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Arkansas in 1948. He married Sarah Aldridge on July 19, 1947, at Earle, Ark. Herb was a member of the Sumpter Masonic Lodge No. 419 for more than 50 years, then the Palo Duro Lodge No. 1239 and Amarillo Lodge No. 731, where he was a past master and currently served as chaplain. He helped start the Masonic scholarship program in each of the Amarillo high schools and received the Golden Trowel for outstanding service. Herb was an adult Scouter for more than 50 years, serving as a Woodbadge instructor. He volunteered with NWTH for 17 years and had worked for Texaco for 30 years and Pantex for six years. He was a member at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, teaching the Friendship Bible Class and singing in the choir. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Clayton and husband, Max, of Frederick, Okla.; a son, James Malcolm Allman of Sugar Land; a sister, Elizabeth Tilden of Birmingham, Ala.; a granddaughter, Sara Clayton of Oklahoma City; and a grandson, Lyle Clayton of Oklahoma City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Amarillo to Thomas and Lula Fay Giles, an early Amarillo pioneer family, and lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She married Carl Beadle in Amarillo on Dec. 20, 1930, in the home of her parents. He died in 1974. She married William Kennedy in 1980 in Amarillo, and he died in 1997. Mrs. Kennedy was a bookkeeper for many years and worked for Jack B. Kelley. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and was active in foreign missions, traveling to Japan, Korea and Hawaii and other countries doing mission work. She traveled to the Holy Land on two separate trips. She was very active with the Hawaii Baptist Academy. Mrs. Kennedy loved her family and her church and will be dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Ann Beadle, in 1949, and two sisters, Frances Rochelle in 2002 and Elizabeth Gahn in 2004. Survivors include a son, Dan Beadle of Humble; a sister, Martha B. Stulce of Amarillo; two nieces, Mary Ann O'Keefe of Amarillo and Joyce Bolton of Dimmitt; and a nephew, Gary Rochelle of Austin. Mr. Elston was born May 25, 1927, to Mack and Beulah Elston in Southland. He served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Saratoga. Bell St. Mrs. Norris was a resident of Amarillo since 1979. She was a member of Church of God, Anderson, when it was in operation at 1110 N. Buchanan St. She did volunteer work at the church when there was a need. For years, she kept a journal and did the correspondence for the Ladies Stewardship Care Unit. Her most rewarding job was working for the Lord and helping people. She had a great love for family and friends. He was employed by Standard Vending & Music Co. and retired as its president in 1980. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and the McDavid Sunday school class, National Automated Merchandising Association and Texas Automated Merchandising Association and was a charter member of the Tascosa Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two grandsons. Mrs. Hill was born Jan. 20, 1903, in Beckham County, Okla., to John Everett and Nancy Ware Mitchell. She married Ranous Hill on Nov. 26, 1924. Mrs. Hill lived in Shamrock for most of her life. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hill was a member of Church of Christ. She loved her children along with arts and crafts. Mrs. Hill was one of the oldest registered citizens in Shamrock and received four different plaques at the St. Patrick's Day Celebrations. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Joyce Hill, and a son-in- law, W.D. Cook of Shamrock. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lavake was born Feb. 11, 1919, at Quealy, Wyo. She had been a Stratford resident since 1936. She married Herman "Cotton" Lavake on April 19, 1936, at Clayton, N.M. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Stratford. She was very proud of her Basque heritage and the fact that her parents met on the ship while coming to the United States and are on the register at Ellis Island. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 8, 1991, and a son, Dwane Lavake on Feb. 26, 1984. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lipscomb Cemetery in Lipscomb, Texas, with Joe Albrecht, pastor of Highland United Methodist Church in Fort Cobb, officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mr. Laubhan was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Lipscomb to the late Mr. Alex Laubhan and Mina Appel Laubhan. He was a graduate of Higgins High School and attended two years at Texas Wesley College in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Wilma Booth on June 7, 1952, at First United Methodist Church in Higgins, Texas. He moved to Fort Cobb in 1982 from Dumas, Texas. Linden worked at Security Federal in Pampa, Texas, as an accountant and also worked as a comptroller at the Savings and Loan Bank in Dumas. He was a volunteer firefighter at Crow Roost Fire Department in Fort Cobb. Linden loved fishing and gardening and was also a member of Highland Methodist Church in Fort Cobb. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Laubhan and wife, Jennie, of Irving, Texas, Rick Laubhan and wife, Ida, of Amarillo, Texas, and Carlton Laubhan and wife, Brenda, of Lewisville, Texas; his stepfather and stepmother, Clarence and Elma Lou Case of Lipscomb; a brother, Gene Laubhan and wife, Kenda, of Amarillo; a sister, Carol Cole and husband, Charles, of Canadian; an aunt, Marie Schneider of Lipscomb; six grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 20, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Henry Krisher WALTERS, OKLA. - Henry Krisher, 94, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Lawton. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. March 14 in Walters Cemetery. Arrangements were by Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home. Mr. Krisher was born to William Henry Krisher and Hannah Irwin Krisher on Dec. 10, 1910, in Walters. He departed this life on March 10, 2005, at Lawton at the age of 94 years, two months, and 21 days. Henry was the ninth of 11 children. He attended Walters High School followed by studies at Oklahoma A&M College, now Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater. He married Katye Page on April 19, 1935, and continued to live and work in Stillwater until 1941, when they moved to Amarillo, Texas. Henry was employed by Walter Irwin Ford as foreman and parts manager. He served in the Army during World War II. On July 1, 1958, he joined Amarillo National Bank, rising to vice president in 1969 and retiring on Dec. 31, 1975. He was active in various civic and charitable organizations. He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Don Thompson of Walters; a large number of nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Tulia with the Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Graveside services will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Polo Park Retirement Center in Midland at a later date. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Arnold was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Wheeler to Elmore and Mary Roden. Wilma married Joe Arnold from Turkey, where they lived until moving to Tulia in 1937. She worked at First National Bank, where she retired after 35 years. Wilma was an active member of First Baptist Church and taught Bible and Sunday school for many years. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. After moving to Midland in September 2000, Wilma resided at Polo Park Retirement Center. She enjoyed playing bridge and living close to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Juanita Blake; and a great-grandson, Cortlyn Arnold. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Knox and husband, Gordon, of Midland; a son, Jim Arnold and wife, Rita, of Lubbock; two sisters, Mary Daniel and Wanda Thaxton, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Renee Wesley and husband, Hal, and Randy Benefield and wife, Krista, all of Arlington, Jayde Arnold and Jai Ja White, both of Midland and Shai McMorries and husband, Vance, of Tarzan; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel in Amarillo with the Rev. Jeff Raines, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, Amarillo. Mrs. Hill was born in Greensburn, Pa. She lived in Amarillo from 1942 to 1999, when she moved to Richardson. Mrs. Hill was very active in church work her whole life. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church until she was 91 years old. She also taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school at San Jacinto Baptist Church, where her husband was the minister at that time. She helped in the relocation of refugees after the Vietnam War. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Leon Hill, in Amarillo. Survivors include a son, Bill Hill and wife, Rae Ellen, of Richardson; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elinor Lewis of Palo Alto, Calif.
