Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Jeff Conway of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Mrs. Henry was born in Oak Park, Ill., on Feb. 21, 1929. She graduated from Western College in Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelor's in education in 1946 and from National College of Education in Evanston, Ill., in 1951. She began her teaching career in Rawlins, Wyo., and later moved to Amarillo to begin her family. She then taught kindergarten at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church before beginning a long career of more than 30 years with Amarillo Independent School District. During her tenure with AISD, she was a committed language arts and grammar educator at Forest Hill Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, Margaret Wills Elementary and completed her career by teaching 22 years at Coronado Elementary. While raising five children as a single mother, she attended West Texas State University in Canyon and graduated in 1970 with a master's degree in education and sociology-speech. Patricia enjoyed her family and grandchildren, gardening, birdwatching, travel, bowling, bridge and round dancing. She was a member of Happy Pairs Round Dancing Club led by her sister and brother-in-law. She was named Who's Who Among American Teachers and was a member of Amarillo Classroom Teachers Association, National Education Agency, Friends of the Amarillo Library, Animal Rescue Shelter Inc., Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Audubon Society. After retiring from AISD in 1991, she continued to serve her community by doing volunteer work with the school district. She also enjoyed part-time employment with Quality Assessments as a mystery shopper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert W. and Louise Jerry; an infant son, Kevin Henry; her twin sister, Gloria L. McGill; her former husband, Bill McGill; a nephew, Mark McGill; and her former husband, Doyle W. Henry. Survivors include two sons, Brian A. Henry of Plainview and Scott W. Henry of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Shiela L. Moore and husband, Les, of Corinth, Michelle A. Raftshol and husband, Rudy, of Plymouth, Minn., and Kimberly G. Pierson of Canyon; a niece, Marla McGill; nine grandchildren, Ty, Jayme and Kendra (twins), Trent and Alisha (twins), Adam and Scott (twins), and Sydney and Leah; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Isaiah. Arrangements are by Amarillo's Family Funeral Home, 2650 Dumas Drive. Mrs. Curtin was born April 28, 1922, in White Plains, N.Y. She moved to Amarillo in 1945. Mrs. Davis lived in Amarillo most of her life and worked as a waitress. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Todd. Amarillo Globe-News, April 14, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Milton Clark Milton Clark, 82, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 9, 2005. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with John Esler, chaplain of Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Mr. Clark was born in Inaval, Neb., to Lewis and Alta Clark and was raised in McMinnville, Ore. He was a veteran of the Navy. He received five stars in the European Theatre, one star in the Asiatic-Pacific, the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and participated in the Philippine Liberation. He served on the USS Albany as well as the USS Mount Olympus. He lived in Alaska for 27 years, working in the logging industry as a lumberjack. After retirement he spent his winters in Yuma, Ariz., and summers in Utah and Amarillo. He married Peggy Armstrong in 1990 in Amarillo. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Yuma. The family would like to thank the doctors and entire staff at the VA Hospital in Amarillo for the wonderful care that they provided. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Clark in 1988; his parents; and a brother, David Clark. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Henderson and husband, Mack, of Amarillo; two sons, Robert Clark and wife, Cindy, of Portland, Ore., and Terry Curtis and wife, Wilma, of Dallas; four brothers, Archie Clark, Albert Clark and James Clark, all of Yuma, and Walter Clark of Spirit Mountain, Ore.; two sisters, Elsie Werth of Spirit Mountain and Betty Theis of Silverton, Ore.; two granddaughters; five grandsons; and two great-grandsons. Mr. Preciado was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Ray, Ariz., to Bernardino Preciado and Francisca Silva Preciado. In 1917, the family moved to Amarillo. He married Lily Maria Martinez of Tucumcari, N.M., in 1933. They owned and operated Ted's Grocery Store from 1944 until 1972 when they retired. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years. Survivors include a daughter, Margie Andrade of Amarillo; three sons, Henry, Joe and wife, Patsy, and Chano and wife, JoAne, all of Amarillo; four brothers, Rudolph "Fito" and Jesse, both of Amarillo, and Gilbert and Teodoro, both of California; a sister, Janie Rosas of Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Broadbent was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Duncan, Okla. She married Ralph Broadbent on June 25, 1938, in Pampa. Survivors include two sons, Fred Broadbent of Moore, Okla., and Wayne Broadbent of Healdton, Okla.; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, April 14, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marge Cook VEGA - Marge Cook, 82, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Vega United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers in Vega. Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Chattanooga, Okla. She moved to Adrian in 1940. She married Clayton Cook on April 13, 1941, in Adrian and they moved to Vega in 1944. She served Oldham County for more than 20 years as secretary, deputy clerk and county and district clerk. Marge was a member of Vega United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star and was the first lady member and president of Vega Kiwanis Club. She and her husband, Clayton, were active in Amarillo Symphony, Little Theatre and Knife and Fork Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; and a son, Ron Cook in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Larry Cook and wife, Sara, of Paducah and Mike Cook and wife, Becky, of Amarillo; a daughter, Melanie Allred and husband, Donnie, of Vega; two brothers, Dick Manning and wife, Ethel, of Fritch and Gale Manning and wife, May, of Houston; two sisters, Rudine McNeill of Tulia and Louise Amason and husband, Jerry, of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren, Amanda Westlake and husband, Blaine, Emily Cook, Meredith Allred and Katie Cook, all of Amarillo, Angela Hoffman and husband, Brian, of Little Elm and Christopher Cook of Paducah; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan Westlake, Ansleigh Westlake and Lauren Hoffman. Mrs. Leonard was born Nov. 26, 1917, in Shamrock. She had been a resident of Pampa for the past 80 years and attended Pampa schools. She married William "Bill" Leonard in 1943 in Mineral Wells. He preceded her in death in 2001. She worked for the Pampa Country Club and the Pampa Club for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church. He was a resident of Dumas and Moore County for 52 years and worked for Excel Helium as an instrument tech. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, Army National Guard from 1950 to 1953 and farmed in the Gruver area. He married Norma Jean Smith on Feb. 28, 1945, in Dalhart. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean; two sons, Raymond Stewart and wife, Angela, of Elko, Nev., and Mickey Stewart and wife, Jeanie, of Denison; a brother, Murl Stewart of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and several nieces.
